Delaroche Household

Iana had been busy for the past couple of weeks getting the house in order for Faciln's arrival home from Hogwarts New Zealand. It was the first time he's been away from her for an extended period of time and she'd been dealing with the absence very poorly. She had lapsed in her housekeeping duties, her husband had been keeping late hours at the office and her daughter had a newfound obsession with some muggle TV channel called Disney.

She just couldn't handle it anymore. Her baby boy had been away for months at school, her daughter was now distant and her marriage was obviously falling apart. She was more distraught now than she had been when Fallakin had left her alone in his house with Faciln, no one to protect them or care for them. She had always understood why he had did it, but she still had not forgiven him even after the letters he had sent recently.

She had destroyed most of them before even reading them. In fact only one single letter had gotten opened, possibly by the worst possible person... her current husband. She had figured, quite correctly, that this is why he was now keeping late hours at the office only to be coming home smelling of booze.

She let out a great sigh, all this housework wasn't going to get done by just standing here lamenting on what was wrong with her life. She set back to cleaning, Marissa quietly watching her latest 'Disney' movie Bridge to Terabithia. She couldn't wait for Faciln to be home at last.

Iana had been quietly washing dishes when she heard a pecking sound from the window. She looked up, not so shocked to see an owl with a letter. She opened the window and graciously accepted the letter from the owl, looking at it for a moment. "Feel free to come in, get some water and I'll get you some food. You must've had a long flight. If you'd like to rest as well, feel free. I do believe I shall respond to him this time." The owl merely nodded at her, got a drink of water from a dish she had put out and went back to the window sill to nap.

She sat down at the table and unrolled the parchment, a small tear in her eyes. It had been almost 12 years since she'd had any type of correspondence with Fallakin, but she knew deep down that he still ruled her heart. It was so obvious even her husband had been keeping away from her these days, ever since the first letter arrived. Though she wasn't entirely convinced that Philip hadn't already been cheating on her. She took to reading the note which was beautifully written in a shade unmistakably Fallakin's favorite color, cornflower blue.
Dearest Iana,

I write you to tell you how well our son is doing in his classes.  I have assurances from the other professors that he is a hard worker and very intelligent, Professor Manteia even mentioned to me that Faciln may have some skills in Legilimency.  A fine fit for Slytherin House afterall being all of intelligent, loyal and very cunning.

Aside from how well our son is doing I continue to want to tell you how sorry I am for leaving the two of you almost 12 years ago.  I cannot describe how much love I still have for you in my heart, my soul.  My thoughts never lingered from you, in fact those very thoughts are what made me work so much harder everyday to try and make time at the end of the day to write you.  My plan never worked out, and the one time it did I saw the owl take off only to be snatched up by a dragon and become a light snack.

My heart aches everyday seeing our son so happy here at school, but knowing that I didn't get to witness his earlier years first hand.  I'd give everything to take back everything I did in the past now to be with you while he was growing up. I missed you so much...

Love,

Fallakin

Taking the letter closer, Iana pressed it to her breast with tears now streaming freely down her face. 'Why was he such a fool back then?' she wondered to herself, then finding herself thinking if she could ever find it within her to take him back. She still loved him, that was no lie... but after everything he had done, leaving them like that. She let out a great sigh knowing that she would of course take him back, if she only had the chance.

Long since had she grown tired of Philip, he had proven to be a good lover when they had first met so she kept him around. She even humbled him by going through a rediculous wedding ceremony and even allowing him to brand his name on her and Fallakin's child. Why she had ever done that she didn't know, all she knew now is how much her heart had lingered for Fallakin to return. The feeling only intensified with every letter thrown away and came burning white hot into clarity when Philip had read the previous one.

Clarity was also coming now, coming in waves as it had never come before. If she were to leave Philip then this season would be the time, but she had to let Fallakin know how she felt and had to get his blessing to return to the home they had made in Godric's Hollow. Last of all she had to make sure her children no longer held Philip's last name. She quickly went to writing a letter back to Fallakin.
Fallakin,

At first I will admit that I was afraid as to why you would be contacting me after all these years.  Now I see how very proud you are of our son and it makes my heart melt that he has taken to you so well, hes normally not so keen on people.  He really was meant to be the joy of both of our lives, you know?

I guess I should inform you that I'm leaving Philip.  He's cheating on me, I know it.  Though I'm in no way innocent as I haven't been fully faithful to him, still loving you all this time.  If you would allow me to stay in what we dubbed Kuvari Place I would be grateful.  Let me know, and should you want to help in the move feel free to come by over holiday.  I'm going to break the news to Marissa tonight, shes my daughter.  You'll be thrilled to meet her, shes a spitting image of me when I was her age.  Anyway, Philip will know first thing when he gets home that we're through.

Please write back.

With a heart full of love,

Iana

Iana rolled up the piece of parchment after ensuring that the ink was dry. She gently rubbed the back of the owl's head, which it turned to face her before moving its body around. "Whenever you're ready to proceed back to Hogwarts New Zealand, I would like you to deliver this response to Fallakin" she informed the owl, binding the letter to its leg. The owl nodded and with a hoot was off her window sill and back in the air on its way home.

'I should start packing all our things if we're to be moving' she thought to herself. 'Never a better time than now' she shrugged, off to Faciln's room to pack his stuff, or what was left of it, first.

Iana had just finished packing the last of her stuff, Marrisa and Faciln's belongings already ready to moved. It'd only been a few days, but after the news Philip was more than happy to help her pack their stuff. He'd taken the news much better than she'd expected, of course he now believed that she was his sister and Marissa was his niece. Best of all he didn't even remember Faciln, meaning her son would easily be able to fade out of the muggle world.

Their stuff was all ready to go, and she was relaxing after all the hard work. Boxes were piled up by the door and moving day was soon approaching, school would be out in just a couple days. Marissa had been pulled from muggle school because she was supposedly very sick, but the school also knew they were moving soon as well so they didn't expect her back.

As Iana sat there on the couch with Marissa watching The Lizzie McGuire Movie she heard a tapping at the window. She looked over, shocked to see the same owl that was there just a few days prior outside. She got up and headed over to the window and allowed the owl to come inside, offering it some water and bread she had prepared since its last arrival. She took the letter from the owl, which took off toward the offered refreshments, and started reading the letter.
Dearest Iana,

Yes.  Any decision you make I will back completely.  That house was meant for us and it will always be open to you, though it may be a bit dusty right now. I'll contact the family house elf so that he can start cleaning up right away.

Love,

Fallakin

P.S. Should I just take the train back with Faciln to help you move?

P.P.S. I almost forgot! The Yule Ball is on this year. If you have the time, would you honor me in escorting me to the ball?  Granted I know what complications this may make for you, all things considered.  But if you can make it, let Alicia Barker know and just show up. Surprise me.

A smile shot across Iana's face. She was happier in this moment than she'd been in years, and so surprised that she now had an invite to a ball! 'Of course I'll be there!' she thought, 'I wouldn't miss it for the world!'. She even had a dress that would be perfect. She found some parchment and wrote him back immediately.
Fallakin,

We're all packed! Philip is taken care of, he now thinks I'm his sister.  Please talk to Faciln about what is going on and don't worry about taking the train, I'd like to get into Kuvari Place as soon as possible.  I'd move there now if I knew it were ready. However if we're in you shouldn't have a problem doing a side-along apparition.  I'll see you soon!

Lots of Love,

Iana

Iana rolled up the parchment and went to the owl. "As soon as you feel comfortable, please take this back to Fallakin" she said, binding it to the owls leg. The owl hooted and Iana rubbed it on the head. "And be safe, you've been doing a lot of traveling lately." The owl nibbled at her finger, and took back off for Hogwarts.

Iana returned to the couch with Marissa at a part of the movie where the bad character in the movie was trying to set up the main character, she had obviously missed quite a bit. She wrapped her arms around Marissa, "remember, you're Marissa Gaunt from now on" she reminded her. Marissa simply responded with a "I know mom" and continued watching the movie. Iana looked up at the ceiling with a big smile on her face, she'd have to send a letter to Alicia Barker with her personal owl tomorrow to get everything for the ball in order.

Diddy appeared in Iana's living room, placed conviently between the TV and the couch, a shriek piercing through the volume of the TV behind him. The shriek was orginating from the girl in front of him, he figured she must not have ever seen a house elf before.

Iana came sprinting into the room, wand flourished, only to find Diddy standing there with a note in his hand. She walked over to Marissa and calmed her down. "This is a house elf, Marissa. One you should get used to as he tends to the place we're moving" Iana explained to the girl. She left her hand on her shoulder, turning to Diddy. "I wasn't expecting a visit from you, Diddy" she said.

Diddy had not been surprised to see Iana come in with her wand ready, it was not the first time he'd seen her so ready to defend herself. As the situation unfolded he took note of the girls features, features he gathered would some day very much resemble her mothers. He bowed before Iana, extending the note from his hand.

"Master sent Diddy to help you move into Kuvari Place" Diddy explained. "Diddy assumes you are ready?" he asked.

"Yes, of course. All our belongings are packed up over here, sans some clothes which I will go grab" Iana replied. "I assume you already have something devised to move all this stuff quickly" she snickered as she left to get the last bit of clothes.

"Diddy always has a plan" Diddy muttered as he strolled over to the belongings. "Diddy knows exactly what to use." He snapped his fingers and instantly two large trunks appeared at either side of him. "Yes, these should do nicely. Charmed to have more room available on the inside" Diddy droned. "Though Diddy imagines both trunks may have been too much." He looked around, no one was around as Marissa had stuck closely to her mother. "Of course, Diddy is also used to talking to himself now as well" he muttered sadly.

He loaded the boxes into the trunks quickly, finishing before Iana had returned with the last bit of their packing.

"Wow Diddy, thats a lot of work to undertake in such a short amount of time" Iana was astonished. "Both these trunks have a lot of space, huh?" she said with a wink, placing the box of clothes into one of the trunks. "Well, shall we be off then?" she asked Diddy who was now closing both of the trunks and locking them.

"Diddy does believe everything is in order, ma'am" Diddy replied. He closed his eyes and snapped both of his fingers, the trunks vanishing into thin air. "Diddy has sent the trunks home, they should be resting in the entrance way" he explained.

"Diddy assumes you remember the way?" he asked.

"Of course I remember the way Diddy" Iana said back playfully. She took Marissa's hand and pictured very clearly the entrance way of the house. "You may want to grab me around the waist, Marissa" she informed her, the little girl obliged by gripping her mother tightly. She said the incantation silently in her head and within seconds they were felling as though they were being pressed by a baker with his rolling pin. Seconds after that they were there, the entrance way of Kuvari Place.

Diddy had waited until he was sure Iana and Marissa had safely apparated out of the house before doing so himself. Once he was sure, he was gone in a flash. He appeared in Kuvari Place at the top of the stairs, facing down toward Iana and her daughter.
