Catching the sound of a sigh, Ruki immediately felt concerned. Casting his eyes back to Lola, the sixth year wondered if she felt annoyed at something. Or if she felt she had interrupted himself and Patricia. As the young wizard thought for a moment, he could understand completely why someone would feel that way. With the way he had been acting, especially on such a night; anything could be happening between the two friends. When Lola spoke, the Gryffindor student politely smiled in response; choosing to avoid anything more ridiculous looking to anyone but him. The bowing of his head could possibly put the young girl off slightly. It was nice to have received comments this evening about the way he had dressed, and the sixth year felt strangely pleased that Lola had noticed. He had certainly noticed her too. Being beside the two beautiful girls gave Ruki a floating sensation in the pit of his stomach, making it awkward to look at either of them for very long. He was sure he had become as red as Lola had after she gave her compliment. Responding in kind, the young wizard hoped he didn't come across as a fool. "Thank-you. You yourself look lovely.".

Once Lola had begun to talk to Patricia, Ruki listened quietly as she explained her choice of dress. Hearing that it was Katalina's choice instead, Ruki smiled. His fellow house-mate had good taste. The dress may seem rather revealing, but; well; Ruki wasn't exactly going to complain at this point. As the young girl cut herself off from talking, Ruki remembered just how talkative she could become once given a subject. It was rather cute. Chuckling slightly as the young girl apologised, Ruki wondered if Patricia would like her as much as he was beginning to. When Lola turned to face him, the young wizard watched as her glossy lips formed a smile. Ruki couldn't help but look at her now. Her dress was amazing. Everything he could see was beginning to look good. Her hair; her lips; her figure. Ruki shook the thoughts from his head as hard as he could. What was coming over him. He wasn't feeling himself tonight. The young wizard re-gained his focus as Lola began to struggle with her words. Listening to her, Ruki glanced towards Patricia, sat with her feet on the chair, just as Lola apologised; deciding to take her leave. Moving to stop her, the young wizard couldn't understand why; but he wanted for her to stay. "It is okay. We had just finished an earlier dance; as neither of us have a date of our own this evening. You're welcome to sit with us, and practice a bit of socialising?", Ruki gave a small laugh. It might be good for her to do, and for him to practice his own skills too. Offering Lola his hand, he would be the gentleman his father pressured him to be; and lead her to a seat if she chose to stay.

That will be a double portion of sw00nage; and a side order of jealously please. =))

Baaahahahaha...so darn cute *squeals* =))

Just as Lola was about to walk off the Gryffindor stepped in her way and stopped her. She listened to his explanation and for some odd reason that she couldn't explain, was feeling relieved and happy at the same time that he and Patricia had not been here together...as a date. "Only if you're sure I won't be intruding," Lola said, still feeling quite unsure of herself, but he had invited her so she would be polite and perhaps even something good would come from this. As Ruki offered his hand, the brunette hesitated for a minute, but then took it willingly, her cheeks blushing lightly as little butterflies in her stomach started to flutter about. Her eyes met his for a brief moment and she quickly averted her gaze to the floor as he led her back to a seat. "Thank you," Lola said meekly as she sat down.

This was where things would get complicated. The fourth year had no clue how to carry on a conversation. Of course she'd seen it done because Merlin (and everyone else) only knew that her cousin could talk your ears off if given the opportunity, but Lola herself had always sat back quietly, always to only be seen and never heard. "So, um, how are you enjoying your evening so far? They really have outdone themselves with decorating. I'm glad I came. It's quite lovely," she said, feeling extremely awkward. The Ravenclaw looked out at the couples dancing about on the dance floor and smiled. "Can't believe I've never been to one of these before...seems like so much fun," she said with a light chuckle.
