To most, Cosette's weekend schedule was probably known as "unholy". Getting up at five in the morning generally was, to the teenage population at large, but what they didn't know was how lovely and cool the castle was, how pure and un-touched by the midday sun. Other than the night that mesmerized the puff, she found the morning to be breath-taking. Taking a long run along the lakefront and just inhaling the fresh air that gave her life. For about twenty minutes, the routines went smoothly; she twirled her way expertly across a tree nearby and returned to her dorm. Cross-stitching and casual common room banter occupied most of her morning, but after lunch she was struggling to find something else to do. This day is a special one as this would be Cosette Mayfair's last yuleball and she wanted it to be memorable just like her old ones. Even though it will only be her, hopefully someone would join her as well. Every minute was spent carefully, fixing her hair and adding a few dash of make-up even though her natural beauty went well with everything. Puffing her dress as she twirled around in front of the mirror a few times now, Cosette looked so beautiful if only Raff's here to see her. She could send him one of those pictures to him, but it didn't felt real to him or her. Decisions, Decisions. It will be decided later on then, she sat stood once more in front the mirror. Looking at herself, adding a few finishing touches before going to the great hall to join the rest of the students. Once she was settled with her look, the prefect wore her heels and left the premises. Making her way to the dance, how she wish to actually dance with someone. As a friend of course, it didn't took her that long to arrive and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.

Such a delight to see wonderful face, dressed to express or dressed to impressed. It didn't matter as long as everyone's having fun this very day, Cosette didn't want to get any attention but whatever she did, it always turned out the opposite way. She made an entrance and everyone was looking at her, maybe because her gold eyes complimented her dress. A small curved line started to form on her lips, smiling at everyone. First years and seventh years like her, she doesn't know everyone but she's eager to get to know them. Taking small steps as she joined the dance floor, Cosette stood nearby to watch the crowd of students getting bigger and bigger. Perhaps later on she could dance, with either a friend or a stranger. For a moment she gazed at the ceiling and then to the walls, the decorations and the rest, she'll surely miss everything about the yuleball next year. It wouldn't be the same like other dances to her, this will be something she'll hold on for the rest of her life. As the music started to play, Cosette could feel her body following through it, she kept her head nodding but she didn't want to dance alone. Although some first years were having fun, dancing alone or by groups. She couldn't even remember her first yuleball that much, since she got to caught up with her sibling arguing back then. Now, she's the only Mayfair standing in Hogwarts New Zealand and it actually felt nice. The puffs keeps were slowly moving from right to left, swaying in a manner of elegance. When the music ended, Cosette clapped her hands and watched the rest of the students grab a bite and a drink between their dances.

Amber felt nervous about going to the Yule Ball this year, not because it entailed forcing a brave smile the entire night, but because Katie wasn't going with her. She had agreed to attend this year with her friend Yerik, who had been nice enough to listen to her ramble on and on about Katie for the past few months. What made the Hufflepuff's stomach tighten was the possibility of Katie seeing her with Yerik and getting the wrong impression. Yes Amber was confused about her best friend, but that didn't mean she never wanted to speak to her again. The fact of the matter is they were best friends last year, and they spent as much time together as they possibly could until recently. But things have changed, and whether Amber liked it or not their friendship wouldn't be the same, regardless if she ever understood these feelings or not. Their friendship would be tainted by this forever, or at least it felt like it would be tainted forever. Shaking these thoughts out of her mind, Amber stared at her reflection in the mirror, she was pleased by how she looked that night, but she wasn't out to impress anybody. She was glad to have found a friend that wasn't Katie, who wouldn't tell her everything she had been feeling and the confusion that trailed along behind it.

The fifth year hastily left her dorm, her heels echoing on the stone floor. The castle was creepy at night, but Amber knew she was safe; her nerves were just getting to her again. After walking in uncomfortable silence for a few more minutes, the brunette finally arrived at the great hall, moving to stand next to Yerik after his familiar face caught her eye. Thank merlin she didn't have to stand alone and wait for him. "Yay, you're here!" Amber exclaimed, waiting a breath before entering the hall arm in arm with Yerik. She was nervous that if they loitered too long outside the ball Katie might see them, if she was going too that is. Glancing once around each shoulder, Amber exhaled as she realised Katie wasn't there. That was one less thing to worry about. Everybody was dressed to the nines, Amber couldn't help but stare at all the girls dresses as they passed by, one glittering dress in particular caught her attention. The dress belonged to a redheaded girl standing on the side-lines of the dance floor. Didn't she have a date? Amber suddenly felt like she needed to include this girl in her night, and that was what she did. She approached the girl, leaving Yerik behind and introducing herself. "I'm Amber, nice to meet you!" She said holding out her hand to shake. "Do you mind if I stand with you?"

Who knew that Halloween ends so soon and after that Yuleball will take place, tux and necktie's are Yerik Rhys' favorite things to wear. Dressing up into something formal made him more comfortable unlike his robes and uniform, he couldn't be more happier to wear a new set of clothes for today. Another reason to be happy is that after long years of going to the yuleball alone, he finally has a companion. Amber Wilson. A puff he met before, such a nice girl to begin with. This would be his first time to spend his yuleball with someone else, of course as friends. Such a happy night for him and for all, it still felt so new to him. As he faced the mirror, his gray suit on him now. Yerik Rhys noticed that he looks more dashing without the tie or any bows, he figured it would be best to wear his tux without a tie. Combing his hair and just checking himself in the mirror, Yerik Rhys knew this would be his first fun and memorable yuleball. He made his way out of his room and downstairs, a few students dressed in black, silver and gold passed by him. They all looked so clean and formal, and he loved it. The prefect stopped for a while to check if he didn't forgot to shine, polish his shoes and he didn't. Everything's good so far, great as a matter of fact. Entering the yuleball wasn't that easy as the massive crowd wanted to swallow him whole, "Excuse me, Excuse me." he said to the other students as he made his way through the crowd. Finally, he saw a space nearby and quickly made his way to the wall. He leaned to it, catching his breath, back there he was suffocation. Man, it was train wreck. Minutes passed and everyone seems to find their way to their partners arms and Yerik Rhys stood there like a wallflower, as he always was. Nodding his head for a bit as the music played, he isn't much of a dancer anyway.

It was all for fun, and to mingle with the rest of the students. A few minutes later, he saw Amber who seems to be excited to see him. Hey! Of course I came." he responded with a light smile painted on his face. Even though he enjoys Amber's company it's also nice to meet new other students, with his thoughts swirling in he didn't even noticed that Amber was gone. He searched for her with the use of her eyes and found her approaching a girl, she looked so familiar and well noticeably beautiful. He didn't want to be left there alone, the claw followed Amber and stood beside her, watching her talk to the girl. Yerik Rhys tried to remember the girl and recognized her as a prefect like him, he had seen her back in the prefects meeting months ago. Though he really doesn't know her name, nor does the other prefects. "I hope I can join to as well." he said to them, slowly waving his hand for them to notice him. For some reason he was always invisible and Yerik was used being invisible but sometimes there are times where he wanted to be notice, not for just being a know it all Ravenclaw but a friendly Ravenclaw too. "I'm Yerik, by the way. he introduced himself as he didn't want to look so odd, in which he already is. Slipping nearer to Amber hoping to shake her hand, and that was the moment he noticed her eyes were gold and radiant as the sun. "You're.. uh.. wow.. I haven't noticed that before." Yerik Rhys stated not aware that instead of whispering it to his mind he was saying it out loud. It was definitely embarrassing to stutter in front of a girl but hopefully she would mind and they'll probably laugh it off later on.

Cosette hopes that someone would talk to her, if not her dress would be such a waste for this particular ball. She didn't want to have something to drink for now, since unexpected things could happen and she didn't want to ruin her dress. It was a gift from her father back in Paris, it meant a lot to her. Watching the rest of the student dance Cosette noticed someone speaking to her, at first she wasn't sure if the girl in black was talking to her. That was until she saw her looking at her, Hello Amber, it's a pleasure meeting you. I'm Cosette. she introduced herself, just like the girl. It was her first time to see her or perhaps she did saw her once but never really noticed her. From the looks of it, she seems to be a puff like her. "Oh, of course not. Please join me." her accent flowing through, as always s sounded more like z. She felt relieved to have someone stand by her, and the next thing she hoped was to get to know her. Things were going good, until it became great when she heard a boy's voice. He looked obviously familiar but she couldn't pin point where she saw or even met him. So, intsead Cosette flashed a smile and entertained the boy. "Oh come Yerik, join us." she called to him, signaling Yerik to join Amber and her. It was in her nature to be friendly and the scenario was like hitting two bird with one stone. Even being friendly, Cosette isn't much of a talker but she tried her best to entertain everyone as much as possible.

The seventh year then noticed Yerik staring at her, mostly her eyes. "Yes, their naturally gold if ever your wondering. If it bothers you, I can change it?" she said to him, since most of the people find her eyes to be peculiar. Although she loves them, Cosette would change her eye color just for some people to actually focus on her and not only her eyes, and the another thing is when she changes her hair or any body part into something different. It was true that Cosette loves attention but not as much as her siblings loved it, Armand and Marianne could be noticed all day and they'll adore it. As they think of themselves as Gods and Goddesses on the other hands she never even considered herself near to popular. Not all students knew her, since she's been too busy with patrolling during the night or when students are in their class. "How are you liking the Yuleball so far?" she asked the two, wondering if they're having fun like the other students, mostly it was the first years and second years who were jumping up and down, dancing in groups and as for the couple who loves to slow dance they were in their fifth, sixth and seventh year. Some lovebirds danced, hand to hand and some arm to arm. Jealousy, didn't pinned Cosette that day, it was longing. How she longed to dance in the arms of Raff again, it took her a moment to just release her thoughts and listen to the two student's reply.
