Aimee was curious of the 'Forbidden Forest' as it was named. She wanted to find out what was so 'forbidden' about it so she stepped into the shade of the trees and sneered there didn't seem to be much here to be afraid of so she went deeper and sat down on a fallen log and pulled out her note book and looked around, 'this is a great place to set a murder mystery' she thought and she began to write in the dull half-light.

Nixie was glad to get outside after all the classes and homework. The Forbidden Forest.
She smiled softly. That was one place she really wanted to take a look at. She walked in, looking up at the thick canopy of trees through which sunlight came through in thin slivers. There was someone else there, sitting on a log, so Nixie decided to greet her.
"Heya", Nixie said, looking down at her with a grin.

Aimee was so absorbed in her writing she didn't hear the girl approaching but when she spoke Aimee fell off the log backwards and bumped her head on a small rock. "Ouch." she stated and gimacing she stood back up and dusted her clothes off and rubbed the rapidly growing lump on the back of her head. She turned to the girl she looked her up and down she obviously wasn't a Slytherin but she didn't look as thought she was much of a threat. "Nothing like a good old bump on the head to wake you up from a creative slumber" Her voice was sarcastic yet humoured and she hoped the girl wouldn't take offence. Although she was slytherin she didn't want to make enemies so early in the year. Still rubbing her head she sat back down on the log and picked up her note book and quill off the ground and then looked back up at the girl. "I'm Aimee by the way" she added "Whats your name then?" she asked.

Nixie gasped when the girl fell backwards. She started to ask if she was hurt, but the girl was back up again in a second. Then she spoke, jokingly but making Nixie feel guilty all the same.

"I'm sorry..", She mumbled, turning pink,"I'm Nixie."

She pointed at the notebook.
"What were you writing?"

Aimee ignored her apology, she saw nixie indicating to her notebook, "Oh, I was setting a murder mystery, this forest seems to be the best place for it." giggling she added: "I know this place is supposed to be 'forbidden' but it doesn't seem at all that frightening." She looked at Nixie closely "What were you doing in here?" She asked.

Nixie looked into the darkness of the depths of the Forest.
"I'm pretty sure it's more frightening in there", She said, with a hint of longing in her voice. Then she turned back to Aimee to answer her.
"I'm just sort of exploring, you know", She explained lamely.

Aimee smiled "I hope so, because at the moment I don't see why its forbidden." Aimee shrugged. LIstening to Nixies answer she nodded "I've been doing a bit of that too...." Aimee frowned "What house are you in?" She asked "I'm slytherin, first year."

Belle stumbled through thick and thin branches, trying not to grow more and more paniced as she went. She'd never meant to come this far into the woods. She stopped suddenly. She heard voices. I don't see why its forbidden she heard. Belle was hiding behind a thick dark green bush, and decided to go and meet them. "You know that's exactly what he said before it happened" she called out, walking quickly over to them. "The murder. A boy was killed in these trees just a few days ago. This place is forbidden alright. His fiance was crying, telling students they shouldn't go in here" she said in her small voice.

"I'm a First Year, too. Ravenclaw...", Nixie's voice trailed off as she turned to see someone walk their way.

"You know that's exactly what he said before it happened", The girl was saying.
Nixie bowed her head, shamefaced, as the girl continued. Her face flushed red and she was unable to look up, feeling guilty about the fact that she was in the Forest.

"We're not going far in or anything", Nixie mumbled in her own defense.

Belle looked over to the girl who'd spoken. Belle was very tiny against her age, and she was smaller than both these girls. "Good, because i wouldn't want anything to do with your death" she added, before smiling. "I'm Belle. Belle Harrison. First year Gryffindor." she'd never get tired of saying that. She looked over towards the other girl, before turning back to the blonde one. "What are you doing here anyway? Trying to get yourselves killed?" she asked.

Aimee giggled "Didn't think you were a slytherin..." looking past Nixie she saw the new girl coming. She rolled her eyes at Belle as she spoke, "I heard about that" she replied and she nodded at Nixie's defence "Exactly" She chuckled "Griffindor..." Trying to get yourselves killed? she heard Belle say and she rolled her eyes again. "Well we aren't exactly standing here with a sign saying 'Come and get us' are we?" She asked her voice sarcastic but homoured. Shaking her head she turned and picked up her note book off the log "What are you doing in here anyway."

"Nixie Neolani, Ravenclaw", Nixie replied automatically.
"Mhmm... we're here to walk into the jaws of death", She said matter-of-factly after Aimee. She wasn't usually bitter and she never joked about death but she, for the first time, felt dislike towards someone she didn't know. Sure, Belle said what she did with good intention but to Nixie, it sounded almost accusatory.

Belle shrugged towards them both. "Well of course not, only an idiot would do that" she eyed them up and down not saying anything else. "Me? I'm here for..." she thought for a moment, "The fun of it.." she said truthfully. "My brother would normally be with me too, but he's busy, and i wasn't going to wait. We've been sheltered far too long. I guess Hogwarts is a real danger zone" she grinned. "Anyway, i was just saying. Be carful. We're first years.." she looked at them, "and the boy who was killed was a fourth. We'd be no match if something did come looking for us" she explained.

Aimee nodded in agreement with Belle, and listening to her reason for being in the forest she chuckled again "Isn't that why we all are here?" rolling her eyes she had to agree again with the girl "Yes we are first years, and I guess we wouldn't although I am a pretty fast runner" she giggled and pulled a few streches, then leant against a nearby tree and looked the girl up and down again "What do you like doing then?" she asked.

Belle swallowed. "Well, i like to swim." she said, the first thing that came into her mind. She was small and quite agile, so swimming was quite easy for her. "Some say i'd be good at quidditch. I haven't tried to fly yet though." she said. She looked around the forest, the light bearly coming through the branches now. It was getting late. "You know we should get back to the castle" she said, looking from one girl to another. "We can talk on the way. But we shouldn't be here now, let alone at night" she said, a slight wearyness in her voice.

Nixie's ears pricked up when Belle said 'swim'. Smiling, she looked around at her.
"I like swimming, too", She grinned.
She looked around the forest as Belle suggested that they go inside. She didn't really want to leave, but it wasn't smart to stay. Who knows what prowls around at night.
Unable to make the decision, Nixie just shrugged.

Belle smiled to Nixie as she said she liked to swim too. "Do you know what the great lake holds? I hear merpeople swim in there." she asked smiling. In the summer she made a mental note to check it herself. "Come on. The werewolves come out at night" she teased, making her own way back through the branches the way she'd come. She hadn't gone in too deep, and so it didn't take long to find the way back out.

"Apparently, there's a giant squid there, too", Nixie said brightly. She followed Belle out of the forest, the leaves and twigs crunching loudly under her feet.
"Werewolves?", She asked, curious rather than scared,"There aren't any werewolves out here."

Belle thought for a moment. "You think? Ive heard there's even some student werewolves, right here in this castle." she said. Belle got most of her information from listening to others convosations. She wasn't too keen on the whole book reading thing, and much prefered to listen. It made it more interesting. "There's much more than just werewolves too. Centaurs. Creatures half human half horse. Very strong. Giant spider, bats, unicorns, pixie's. Everything." she continued, smiling to herself.

Nixie shuddered at the thought of giant spiders. But werewolves?
"Wow...", She mumbled and then turned to Belle,"I wonder who the werewolf is. And I'd love to see a unicorn."

Aimee watched the girls turning to leave and trailed slowly behind them, not bothering to join the conversation. Unicorns and werewolves didn't intrest her. Rolling her eyes she caught up and said "I'd LOVE to see a giant spider that would be the best" giggling she turned to Belle "Wouldn't you?" she asked.

Belle nodded, "I suppose so. But i would have to be up in a tree or something" she said to Aimee, "I wouldn't want to be anywere close to it. ESPECIALLY the giant spider" she grinned. She looked to Nixie. "I've know idea who it is, but i do know it's one of the older students" she mentioned.

Aimee shrugged "I wouldn't care if it was up a tree or not it would be awesome to see one where ever it was." Scuffing her heels in the ground she twirled her hair around her finger "Warewolves in the school? Is that even safe?" she asked skeptically.
