Rue felt alone. Not physically, but in her mind. She had nobody to comfort her, tell her she was imagining the pain and actually, she was going to be fine. That's what she wanted. That's what she needed if she didn't want to be driven to the brink of insanity.
A sharp stab of pain in her abdomen caused her to double up in agony. She brough her knees to her chest, and buried her face in them. She had cried too much. She didn't want to embarass herself any more than she already had. She resisted the temptation to scream as another stab of pain made her feel sick. She was shivering as usual, despite the fact it was a warm day.
Rue let out a small agonising scream. She couldn't face going to the hospital wing. She was too afraid of what they'd say. Or if they wouldn't believe her.
A figure approached her, and she kept her head in her knees. She didn't want more critisism about how crazy she was. She wanted to be by herself, away from the tormenting children. She thought about running, but was scared she would collapse. She trembled, hoping the person wouldn't notice. Why was she shivering? She was hot. She didn't understand anything anymore. Instead, she let the pain take over her body.
