Strange, in a time of pure white how dark and bleak the grounds could look, and today was one of those days. All though it wasn’t late the light was getting dim outside, thick dark clouds streaked the sky and somewhere in the distance low rumbles of an approaching storm sounded not to mention it was cold, bitterly cold. Abbey hadn’t been out through the grounds in a while. Having decided to remain indoors to wait out the ridiculously cold winter today she wasn’t sure why she ventured out into the weather. Perhaps she could feel something was not right, or perhaps she was just sick of being cooped up in the warmth of the Slytherin common room - where it was like an episode of some muggle romance series with people snogging in broad daylight.

Abbey smiled lightly, as she trudged through the deep tightly packed snow whistling a tune that she had been unable to release from her head for the whole day and she strolled absentmindedly through the grounds. She was in an unusually good mood considering her circumstances. As she rounded a corner towards the gardens she felt a rush of icy wind whip across her. She shivered, and pulled her thin black jacket tighter around her. Why did I come out here? I don't have the clothes for this weather? she asked herself curiously.

lame title ^^

Isabella had been in her dorm room silently reading her Charms book. Finally she was going to have the class again, she hadn't had it since the first semester of her first year and she really enjoyed that class. She was looking forward to taking it again, her first semester this year was full of all her least favorite subjects and she had barely managed to pass them all with an A. This time around, with her newly cut hair, she was hoping to come off as more innocent and studious, she had even began wearing her glasses in public to complete her studious look.

Isabella grew bored of reading a textbook though, even though it was her favorite subject, it could only distract her for so long. She got up and grabbed her black coat and decided to go explore the grounds a bit. She brushed a few flakes out of her head and headed over the the garden, not really sure why.

Once she got there she saw her roommate Abbey in the garden too. Isabella held a new found interest for the violet-eyed girl ever since finding out she was related to Aiden. She was curious to know how that was possible but she didn't want to be rude and blurt it out. Instead Isabella walked over to her and simply said, "Hey."

Abbey was walking towards a bench when she heard a familiar voice, "Hey." She glanced over at the girl and raised her eye brows seeing her hair, or lack there of. It suited her though, she looked more childlike. It was a breath of fresh air at this school, Abbey sometimes felt was more like a twilight zone. "Hi," she said in a friendly tone. "How was Italy?" she asked, remembering that Isabella was going to Italy with her family over holidays. "Want to join me?" she asked, even though she had already assumed she would because she had approached her.

Isabella's small smile grew brighter when Abbey had remembered that she went to Italy. "It was fun," she said softly, already missing her home again. Isabella nodded her head in response to Abbey's invitation and took a seat. "How were your holidays?" she asked in return, remembering that Abbey had said she was going to stay here at Hogwarts yet Aiden had wrote to her that he'd met Abbey when he was supposed to be in Bulgaria.

Abbey smiled at Isabella but frowned when she had asked her about her holidays. "Dramatic," she stated, knowing that questions were of course going to come from that. Isabella was Aiden's girl friend after all, he had probably told her about a weird violet eyed girl named Abigail that yelled at one of her friend's family members. She hung her head in shame gently as she trudged onwards. The worst part was that Hadan was there, she had seen her yell at the man, she knew and when she came back, Abbey would have to deal with her.

"Dramatic?" she repeated with confusion. She saw Abbey's reaction and wondered if it had to do with finding out her relations to Aiden's family. "Why?" she asked cautiously. "I thought you were staying at Hogwarts," she added as she remembered their conversation before the Yule Ball. She wondered how she could've possibly ended up in Bulgaria.

Bella bit her lip, wondering if she was intruding, but she remembered last Christmas when she had had her fair share of drama during the holidays because of Wendy. And now that she thought about it, it would've helped if she could've told someone she didn't know that well about it. It was a good stress reliever.

Abbey bit her lip softly and said, "Well I'm sure he has already told you." She shrugged her shoulders and exhaled deeply before saying, "I found out I have relatives here, some Lorka boy you're dating and some Richarde girl, haven't met her yet though." She shrugged her shoulders gently, that was not the part that troubled her at all. "The new librarian here is my Aunt, she apparated me over to Bulgaria to see the family tree, which I apparently am on..." Abbey trailed off and glanced over at Isabella, wondering if she should say the next part.

Isabella smiled weakly when Abbey said she probably already knew, so it was about being related to Aiden. Isabella opened her mouth to protest to her saying she was Aiden's girlfriend but closed it again. It wasn't as if she didn't like that people still thought of them as a couple, it was just a painful reminder that they really weren't together yet.

She rolled her eyes at the mentioning of Joceline and said, "Don't waste your time, she's a little brat," but refrained from saying anything else. "How do you feel about suddenly having this huge family tree?" she asked Abbey, knowing she had been orphaned for a while. It must've been a huge change for the girl. Isabella absolutely hated the one addition to the family she'd gotten last year, she couldn't imagine how Abbey must feel now.

Abbey bit her lip and said, "Well we never actually got to her house, something happened and I ended up asking her to bring me back to Hogwarts." She shrugged her shoulders and said, "They aren't my family, I mean I'm alive for 12 years and now that I'm in New Zealand they contact me, I really don't think that I could consider someone I've met once my family." I don't have a family, I only have myself and the few that know and understand, she thought truthfully with a small shrug. It didn't matter much to her, she had Willow and Theodore as friends.
