Amy did not often attend these kinds of events. In fact, she couldn't remember ever attending one at all. She was not the kind of person to put herself in a situation where she would continually be around people, yet she had come to the Yule ball, though she had come without a date. She had been hoping maybe someone would ask her, but she also would have been surprised. She didn't really get out much and that meant she had to do things on her own, given her lack of friends and inability to really talk to people without being super awkward. Still, as she walked into the Great Hall, she couldn't help but admire the beauty of the surrounding decorations and the effort that people had obviously gone to. The candles and floating clouds with fake snow all looked wonderful. Almost like a wintery wonderland reminiscent of what she was used to at home. Smiling slightly to herself, Amy stood awkwardly to the side as she sipped a cup of water she'd picked up on the way in. She didn't really know anyone, but it felt kind of nice to just exist in the same space as other people.
