Isabella had been roaming the castle, purposely neglecting her huge pile of homework when she heard a persistent tapping at a nearby window. She looked out and saw her family owl Carmel and smiled happily. So her parents finally decided to write to her again. She hoped this year she wouldn't find out she had another half sibling from her mother's side or something and scowled as she recalled the events of last year. She went over to open the window and stroked Carmel, missing her and her pets back at home so much. She took the letter and thanked her but was unable to give her any treats since she was nowhere near the Owlery or Great Hall. "Sorry girl," she said to her apologetically and she hooted as if she understood but Bella knew she owed her next time. She unscrolled the letter to see what it said and immediately recognized her mothers handwriting.
She still didn't know how she felt about this news. Sure she should've been happy for her mother, but the fact that she had waited for so long to tell her angered Bella. Though if she were her mother, she probably wouldn't have told herself so soon after Wendy either. Ugh Wendy, Bella thought reflexively as always. Had Wendy not appeared last year, perhaps Bella would be a little more excited for her mother's news but she always had to ruin everything. At least these babies aren't from some stupid blood traiting affair, Isabella thought bitterly. She rolled the letter back up for now, still unsure as to what she was going to write back, glad she hadn't cried over this after all.
Isabella stared at the letter for the longest time, reading it repeatedly without really taking in what it said. After it had sunk in she felt tears form in her eyes, though she couldn't tell if they were from anger or sadness. She had been an only child for 11 years, and now within a year she was going to have 3 siblings! How did they expect her to react? She had been spoiled rotten by them, they gave her anything she whined for just to shut her up, and was never really taught to share, that is until Pammy came along and straightened her out. But her family was not something she was ever going to learn to share and definitely not willingly.Dearest Isabella,
I hope your second year of school has started off well and you're doing well in class. As you know they look out for possible Prefects in your year this year so I hope you're staying out of trouble and making a good impression. Please don't disappoint us Isabella.
This is not the only reason I write to you dear. Last year, I know you didn't take the news with our new "addition" to the family well, but I do hope you can take this news with more lightheartedness. Isabella, I am now 5 months pregnant. You probably didn't notice me getting bigger during the summer because you only spent a few weeks with us after staying at Aiden's house. I know this may come as a shock to you but please take this as good news, unlike the last time. Another detail I have to mention is that you will not only be gaining one sibling, but two. I am having twins. I was surprised by this news at first too, but now I see it as a blessing. I hope you're okay with this Isabella.
Keep up your school work and make us proud,
Your Mother,
Daphne Chaos
