Tybalt was excited for his first Christmas with Rhi, well, it wasn’t their first christmas together but it was their first christmas together as a married couple and that was pretty exciting. He knew it wouldn’t really change much, but he also felt it was pretty neat and important. He wanted it to be the best christmas, so perhaps earlier than they might’ve done, knowing the schedules wouldn’t have allowed for any other day, Ty was getting all of their shared christmas decorations down from the attic and bringing them mostly with magic to the main hall of their home. He was wearing his christmas jumper despite it being all too warm to be doing so, but he didn’t mind, it was just for the fun of decorating. He spotted his beautiful wife and smiled easily at her, ”This is all of it,” he said smiling lightly. ”The big question is, shall we just conjure a christmas tree or buy one proper?” he asked her. Knowing that it would be good to have a real tree but with magic it was as easy to just conjure a fake one for them to decorate and it would definitely look as real as any real christmas tree.

Rhiannon hummed on her way home from the shops. She entered the house a bag od shopping in each hand, it was an old song but still well known enough to be playing in the shops. she started unpacking her bags her humming turning into singing as she unpacked she had intended to go out for just the normal foods but she couldn't help buying a pack of mince pies and some rum balls. she wasn't sure why she liked rum balls. rum wasn't a drink she usually chose but there was something about the combination of flavour and texture that was irresistible.
She saw Tybalt appear coming down the stars with some boxes "Oh, Baby all I want for Christmas is you" she finished the chorus a little louder than she had been previously singing aiming it at her husband as she made her way to her husband. judging by the ugly jumper that he was wearing she wasn't the only one in the festive mood today. She smiled as he said he had all the decorations. there was a fair amount, seeing as both of them had lived alone before they moved in together. she thought about the Christmas tree dilemma. both of them had advantages. fake trees lasted longer. but real trees had a far better atmosphere. "hmm. maybe a real tree. then use magic to make sure it stays alive until Christmas" she said opening one of the boxes revealing a sparkling piece of tinsel.

Tybalt couldn’t help the light grinning at her singing. He nodded in agreement. ”Okay honey,” he said in agreement, ”We can decorate the house and then we can go get a tree and then decorate that,” if they ran out of decorations to use it wouldn’t be the end of the world, it wasn’t like for them that they wouldn’t be able to afford more decorations and after the season it wasn’t like they wouldn’t be able to shrink it all down to a workable size. He looked at the box of tinsel that she opened and gave a little smile, ”Where shall we get started?” they did have a rather large house to decorate but he was sure that they would be done in next to no time, if they used magic or not. ”Maybe we should get some christmas music playing too,” Tybalt knew they had a magical radio in the house which could very easily connect to those muggle stations and play them some good christmas music.

Rhiannon picked up some of the tinsel from the box and spun around letting it drag behind her like a sparkly banner. sure she was an adult, she had been accused of being mature even at a young age but as soon as Christmas decorations came out she became a child again. it evoked memories of her and her brother putting up the tree at home listening to loud Christmas music and eating chocolates. he had always insited at putting the angel on the top of the tree. whereas she had liked getting the lights untangled and around the tree. "That sounds like a plan." she said using her wand to get the tinsel to float and attach its self to the ceiling. "let's start in the sitting room then move into the hall." she said it was going to be a fun day "What songs do you want?" she asked trying to remember what his favourite Christmas song was but she couldn't remember. she couldn't even remember what hers was.

Tybalt took out his wand and just smiled lightly watching heras she began decorating, he shrugged lightly, ”I’m good with whichever, maybe one of those muggle radio stations has got an hour of only christmas music, some old school stuff, that could work?” Tybalt told her, he would expect that there must be. It would be nice to just focus of spending the time dancing with her. He flicked his wand some of the tinsel began moving and settling in different places in the room. Slowly he could tell that the room would get more and more christmassy and it would fill his heart. ”This place is going to look so good in no time,” he said, this wasn’t their first christmas together but it was their first christmas as a married couple and that definitely counted for something. ”What do you want for Christmas Honey?” he asked her, he already had some ideas in mind but if there was something she wanted, why wouldn’t he try to also get that for her.

Rhiannon couldn't help but enjoy herself as she watched Tybalt start to hang tinsel. she wondered what Christmas looked like for him what it felt like without the warm reds and the rich greens and gold and silver. she turned her attention to the radio and turned it on tuning it until the unmistakable jolliness of Christmas music started playing. "I didn't know this band had a Christmas song" she said. She recognised the singer from music her aunt played in the workshop but it felt weird hearing them sing a Christmas song.
when asked what she wanted Rhiannon smiled then shook her head. she could not think of anything that he could get her. at least not by Christmas. she guessed that was one of the disadvantages in both of them working with a good income. they really just bought what they wanted when they wanted it. "I have everything I could want. I have you, we are here happy and healthy. so other than not to have to be called in on Christmas what more could I ask for" she said. unfortunately she was on the on call list for Christmas afternoon. she just hoped that she wasn't going to be needed at work. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. and then she did think of something. There was something she wanted but they were not going to get it by Christmas. they had both talked about wanting children before but it was always a distant idea, a someday. She was starting to think more seriously about. it had struck her the other day that she was thirty, and not getting younger, she would be almost sixty when their kid came of age if they had it soon or older if not. "There is something I have been thinking about. not for chistmas. and we need to talk about it properly first." she said. trying to think of how to word what she was about to say. maybe we should start considering growing our family" she said. it wasn't something they should rush into. they needed to discuss it first.

Tybalt listened to the song, but he didn’t have much familiarity to it. But he bopped his head along with it and just got back to his decorating. He leaned into the kiss Rhi placed on his cheek and though he could agree with the sentiment, he still wanted to get her a few things, he’d just make them hopefully extra surprising. He slowed down as she spoke, something they needed to talk about. He wasn’t too sure what that could be, perhaps she wanted to talk about the house or working at St. Mungoes. He didn’t think it would necessarily be about children or something. He knew that his part in all of that was minimal and so he should wait for Rhi to be ready for them more than he needed to be, since for him, when she was ready he could be ready. He liked looking after his sister’s child and his brother’s children. They were adorable. But he was sure it wasn’t that. ”Sure honey, what is it?” he put on his most caring tone as he spoke, wanting to make sure that she felt safe and comfortable to share whatever she needed to with him. But then she said it. He smiled softly, "If you feel ready for it, I'd be happy to," he reached out and took her hand smiling softly at her.

Rhiannon watched her husband dance along to the music as she started getting some lights untangled. They probably could do the same thing with magic. but there was something comforting about electric fairy lights. as the topic turned serious she put the tangle of wires down and made her way towards Tybalt. they had been together for a few years now married for almost one and she didn't think she would ever not feel a tingle of excitement or anticipation when he was near her. even when they were not touching he was her rock and she loved him from the deep blue of his eyes to how he had always helped her when she was younger and had never wanted anything in return, to the gentleness of his voice when he thought she was upset.
She felt his hand reach for hers and took his using it as a guide to move closer to him resting her head on his shoulder and wrapping her free hand around his back. she could hear the steady thrum of his heartbeat and smell his familiar scent. a smile spreading across her face as he said he would be happy to start a family "It isn't something we should rush into, that we can agree to on a whim. It will be a big change for both of us and you have just as much say about it as I do" she said. if he didn't want to have children yet then that would be it. But she knew that he would make the most amazing dad even if she hadn't watched him looking after their nephews and nieces.

Tybalt moved to pull her a little closer into him. He was actually quickly thinking about this, how good it would be, but she was right, they needed to think about it, they shouldn’t rush into it, shouldn’t force themselves to do something if they couldn’t manage to have the time for it, they were both healers and a child would likely give them a little pause from the work they did. He would happily cut back his hours but it would be a new and difficult thing. ”We definitely shouldn’t rush in to it, but would you want to start trying, and see where that takes us? It probably won’t happen immediately, so we can start having those conversations,” he wanted to have children with her, looked forward to being able to share in that joy with her. ”When it happens, if it happens, you’ll be a great mum,” he told her softly. He knew they had more to discuss, more to figure out, but for now he wanted to life in this moment for a little while.

Rhiannon felt Tybalt move closer to her. it felt nice being this close to him with their busy and often conflicting schedules they hardly ever had time to just be them. even when they had days off together they tended to plan doing things. She loved their trips and adventures. but relaxed days like today were just as special if not slightly underrated.
She nodded as Tybalt said that they could start trying. she was an obstetrician. she knew that things hardly ever happened straight away. Especially knowing where she was in her cycle it would be unlikely that it would happen this month but part of her wanted to go and try anyway regardless of what she had just said about not rushing into it and taking it steady and sensible. "you are right. it probably won't happen straight away and even if it does we will have time to sort things out" she said.
she smiled as her husband said that she would make a good mum. She hoped that she would. but she did know one thing for sure, she could tell by the way he cared for his nephew and nieces 'They will have the best dad" she said before kissing her husband. As excited she had been about decorating just a few minutes ago the tinsel lay forgotten at the thought of starting a family.

Tybalt smiled at her, it wouldn’t happen right away, it would just be exceeding lucky and well timed if it did, but regardless, just beginning to casually try would suit them. They were healers so their lives needed to be planned likely more than most, but he knew that it would be a mistake to over plan when they had done nothing yet. Once things were in motion, once she was pregnant, then they would have the time to carefully plan and get themselves in a position to be ready for it. The house was big enough that they could have a nursery. He smiled softly. ”How many kids do you want?” he knew that they were just discussing trying but he thought it wouldn’t be too amiss to also consider how many children she wanted, it would help them in the planning, in planning once it happened, he also knew that while he wouldn’t mind an army of kids, he was more than happy if they ended up only having one, if that was what Rhi would prefer. He wasn’t the one having to carry them to term or give birth. He was just there for the moments after. He blushed lightly at her compliment, ”You’ll be the best mum ever,” he kissed her back feeling such a deep love for her and for what they were about to embark on.

Rhiannon chuckled as Tybalt asked her how many kids she wanted. "Well we will start trying for one. and see how it goes. she said. She knew more than most people the ins and outs of pregnancy. It was her job to know more about being pregnant and having children. That was her job. but there was a big difference between knowing about something and guiding others through it and actually going through it. besides different women went through things differently and sometimes it was hard to pick who would be which. "but I always thought only children seemed lonely so if all goes well then more. how many do you want?" she said. not giving a number as it would depend on how things went. But she loved her husband so deeply she knew she would do anyhting she could for him like she knew he would do fo her. She had never been one of those kids who had their wedding day planned, knew how many kids they were going to have, and had names picked out. her certainty had always been her career. The doctor then when she had learned about magic a healer. she had abstractly always planned on a husband and kids. though even in her vag plans she hadn't thought of a husband as considerate and kind and good looking and perfect for her as Tybalt. as for kids, she thought about dropping down to two or three days a week to look after them but the details about them specifically were vague like looking through fogged up glasses after bing out in the cold. you have an idea of what is around but no ideas of details beyond the vague looking abstract shapes. hazy futures didn't mater so long as they had a strong foundation and right now the strongest foundation was the two of them holding each other in the sitting room as some long forgotten played in the background.
he returned the compliment and before she could say anything they were kissing no mistletoe required. she felt herself blush glad that he couldn't see the pink hue building in her cheeks though she was pretty sure he would know anyway sometihg to do with her expression. after a moment she pulled away from the kiss just far enough to whisper "do you want to start right now?" she knew it would be unlikely given where in her cycle she was but she did remember that she had missed her dose of the contraceptive potion when she was on nights so maybe there was a small chance it would work, but besides that she was just enjoying the intimacy of the moment and wanted it to last.

Tybalt nodded in agreement, it sounded like a plan, just see how one goes and then decide. Tybalt had had siblings growing up, his sister, whom he was still close with, his brother had died many years before at this point, but he had also gained a brother in the interim. He knew it was good to have siblings no matter how annoying they could be. Ty was determined that they would never suffer the loss of a child, and he knew they’d never be like Stefan’s parents but siblings at least one would be helpful, he agreed with Rhi that one child always seemed so lonely. He smiled as she asked the question back to him. ”If I say enough for a whole quidditch team, you’ll immediately divorce me right?” he joked lightly, ”Really, two or three would be more than enough, I know I’ll reduce my work to be around to look after them, but we are still healers so more than a couple is probably not good for our time.” He didn’t want her to think that he was simply reducing it how much time they would take up, but it was definitely a factor for them. He wanted to be there for his kids but still have time with Rhi, have time to relax. It was still in the future when this would all happen, and though he’d always imagined they would have kids it was sort of like they’d taken a step forward in that regard, now he could practically hear the padding of little feet in the house, excited giggling of a child as they played. He kissed her and then smiled as she suggested they could get started. He just nodded, ”Sure, we can finished the decorations later,” he took her hand and began leading her to their room.

Rhiannon chuckled at the question about enough kids for a quidditch stream. "you're safe. so long as you don't suggest we have to be on the team. I'm not that stable on a broom" she said, just glad that her mention of children had been met with such enthusiasm. "Maybe not a whole team. but we could combine with Lydia and Stefan and make a full team that way, maybe even with a couple of alternatives" she joked. not really sure how many children her brother and sister in law were intending to have.
"two or three sound good" she said as Tybalt said that they were both healers and more may not be a good use for her time she thought back to her childhood. both her parents were doctors. and there had been two of them. her and her brother. but they didn't have magic to help even with the little things. and they had moved from Scotland to Australia when she had been seven. and she realised now it had meant that there had been no family or friends to look after them. no wonder she often spent her holidays with her aunt.
thoughts of her childhood and childcare vanished as her husband kissed her. she let him take her hand as they made their way towards the bedroom. any thoughts of tinsel and Christmas songs, as pleasant as they were, were left far behind as she enjoyed the afternoon with her husband.
