Kaede had been walking around when she saw a girl and a boy together. Originally she would have kept walking, but she had heard the girl make a rude comment. Even though the girl, and obviously the boy were much older than her, she still didn't like hearing people talking to others like that. The older boy looked sort of familiar, and Kaede realized she had seen him in the common room a few times. She had never talked to him, but he seemed nice.
Walking confidently up to the two older students, she stood behind the girl and said, "So is your hair, but no one ever mentions that to you. How about instead of trying to pick on someone maybe you should try and do something worthwhile. Is making fun of people the only thing your capable of?" The older girl probably knew a lot more than she did, but Kaede had enough common sense not to treat people like trash either.
She straightened her spine, making her small frame seem a little bit bigger. Kaede didn't like saying such mean stuff. The girl's hair wasn't really as bad as she had said it was, but Kaede thought that maybe if the girl had a taste of her own medicine that maybe the girl would realize how mean she really was.
