Gin Bailes

Gin slumped further down beside the lake, dipping a thin pale hand into her bag of toffee and retrieving a few of the sticky confectionaries. Throwing them in her mouth carelessly, she contemplated. There had seemed to be a lot of future HNZ students in Brightstone that day, but as usual she had created no friends.

She pondered harder on her sudden desire for some kind of companionship. It was irrational, really, seeing as for her whole life she had survived on her parent's ever flowing care for her, an emotionless front and a bag of toffee to tide her over. Sweets were all she ever eat, usually, except for when her mother cooked a large meal - she was lucky to have such a high metabolism, actually, though she had a theory that the brain takes up more calories than any other part of the body.

Yet here she was, alone again. Her hazel eyes flashed a little, but after a split second fell back into the cool, calculating look they usually held.
