Being sorted in Slytherin had felt….good. She hadn’t minded where she would end up, knowing it wouldn’t really matter but her brother was so serious and she didn’t need him trying to tell her what to do, as if she would ever listen to him. The first night in slytherin too had been....fun..or something. Now she didn’t even need to think about it. Liusaidh had come to the student lounge for something to do, not wanting to linger at breakfast much longer than needed. With her was one of the few things that she had gotten out of her luggage - she was still awaiting the elves to do it for her. What she had with her as she headed into the student lounge was her little jar of flames, a gift from her mother, some silliness about how she was carrying the family’s torch and she should be responsible, but Liusaidh just liked it because well..fire. Liusaidh knew that if she tapped it with her brand new chestnut wood wand the light would dim, but she was more interested on seeing if she could make it grow. she was tapping at the glass now with her wand and then she spotted the girl, that one who'd gotten all frustrated with the antics. Liusaidh decided to see if she was in a better mood today, "Oi, knickers-in-a-twist," Liusaidh greeted her with a little giggle as she approached, figuring she wasn't going to like the nickname much.

Saoirse hated everything about the house she was sorted into, really included the school itself to be honest, since she didn't want to be here at all. She'd only been forced there because her stupid brother couldn't keep his mouth shut and had gotten them all involved in something that was causing lasting problems. She'd only met one person she even liked so far and so that was enough to turn her off of all of this completely. The first night in the dorms had been something of a disaster, and she certainly didn't enjoy the cat fight she'd had up there, people thinking they were better than others, it wasn't about decent things, it was all about respect and the fact people didn't know that spoke volumes on who they were. She moved to the student lounge early that morning to get away from the mess of her dorm mates, none of whom she had any interest in getting to know at all. She preferred the student lounge because most people here would leave her alone and she didn't need to worry about people being loud, well, it was only the second day, so she supposed she couldn't say that for sure because she had no real way of knowing any of this. She sat in the corner of the room, her potions book propped up on her knees as she looked over some of the recipes in the book, only looking up when she heard someone address her. She knew it was her dorm mate because the accent was unmistakable, she understood the girl easily. "That's no ma name." She said, closing her book a little and noticing the flames the girl had in a jar. Well, she was not happy with that at all. Saoirse had a horrible fear of flames since her parents died ten years back. Since then she'd found it quite impossible to appreciate fire in the slightest. She preferred to stay completely on the opposite side of the room to the fireplaces at home and she stayed in the middle of the hallway always. Even heating a cauldron for potions she was sure was going to be difficult. "Why dae ye carry flames in ah jar?"

Liusaidh shrugged a little, ”Sure, but its whit ye are,” liusaidh told her, she couldn’t be bothered remembering the girl’s actual name, though it was a little simpler for her to remember than a lot of the other names she was interacting with, just by the fact it was a name not too different to hers. Well..it was a little different but not by much. ”Shouldnae have been so rude on yer first day eh, knickers?” she then added but Liusaidh didn't even mean this harshly given the smile on her face. Liusaidh looked at the flames in the jar as the girl asked about it. She held up the jar and then looked back at the girl, ”Well, ah’m tryin’ tae get the flames tae be bigger, but it doesnae work like that,” she told her, ”Ma maw doesnae want me tae forget ‘family’ and ‘family responsibilities,” Liusaidh explained, tapping her wand on the jar a few times trying to get the flame to grow, but it seemed to have two settings, dim and small flame, it was much to Liusaidh’s disappointment, ”Yer family no gee ye dumb stuff?” she asked, as if everyone would get a gift like the one she had in her hand, though really Liusaidh didn’t think it was that good a gift.
