As per tradition, every month we staff will look for biographies, developments, anything used to truly develop your character to use as inspiration to new and old members alike.
And this month we would like to spotlight Aroha Blenheim, RPed by none other than Sarah!
You can check out these links for her bio and aesthetic.
And we asked her some questions.
What was your initial thought when you were contacted about being spotlighted? Surprised, honestly, but relieved. I thought I might be in trouble
What was the inspiration for your character? Hmm that's a tricky one because it feels so long ago now. I just really wanted to make a MÄori character initially and then as I went through, she just slowly became both an amalgamation of people I know and also just ideas I had.
What is your favourite RP that your character has taken part in? That's also tricky. I really like her friendship with Fiona, so I suppose it'd be the thread where they go ghost-hunting but inevitably find no ghosts.
What is your favourite aspect of your character? I like how confident she is. I'm not that confident and sometimes it even stretches me to act that way as her.
Your least favourite aspect? She isn't very studious which sounds like a strange complaint to have when that means I do less lessons, but I have some sort of internalised thing where I think you should make the most of your education (which is a little silly, I know)
If you could meet your character in real life would you want to? Why or why not? I think so! We might have an interesting discussion about MÄori stuff.
What do you feel your strength in developing characters is? I'm not sure. I think when I get it, I get it. It's just trusting the process sometimes. This answer's a little vague, sorry.
Your weakness? I think sometimes they become a bit samey for me. I'm trying to stretch my horizons, but some of my characters feel like the same character in different shoes almost.
What would you recommend to those looking to further develop their characters? Throwing them into threads always helps! Sometimes you just need to work it out through practice.
What are you most looking forward to on HNZ in the next several months? I mean, sorting is coming up. That's always very exciting.
What is your favourite part of HNZ? It's what everyone always says but the community. Thank you to everyone here for making it such a great place!
