Nixon was ecstatic that his final candy cane delivery was to someone he knew well from working on the Hogwarts Monthly: Lennon Cohen-Knight. The older student was kind and a great leader and journalist so it hardly surprised Nixon to know that Lennon had at least one candy cane delivery that day. The Hufflepuff walked to the Hogwarts Monthly room, smiling when he saw Lennon there. "Hey!" Nixon greeted. "I have a candy cane to deliver to you." He then added, waiting to see Lennon's reaction. He hoped it would be a positive one.

Lennon was used to the castle bustling about during Valentine's Day to deliver roses, but seeing everyone walking around delivering candy canes in December was new. He thought it was a nice gesture though, and much like roses he hardly ever expected to get one. Yet every year he was still proven wrong. As Nixon stopped him to let him know he had a delivery, Lennon smiled at the young staff member. "Hey Nixon," he said happily. He was happy to see that the boy was participating in delivering the candy canes because he had never bothered to sign up for these things around the castle. But given that the boy had impressed him so much with his first brilliant article, it was no surprise he'd be volunteer to help. "Oh nice," he said shyly, "Is it from my sister?" he assumed out loud.

Nixon shrugged when Lennon asked out loud if it was from his sister. Though the temptation was there for Nixon to read the notes accompanying each of the candy canes he was delivering, he held it back thinking that it would be rude of him to read something meant for someone else, without the senders knowledge. So he truly had no idea who the candy cane was from. "Dunno, guess you'll have to read the note and find out." Nixon said, stepping forward and offering the candy cane to Lennon. "Happy Holidays!" He then added, smiling wide.

Lennon,

Yer the best editor ever!

Lennon smiled as he took the candy cane from Nixon and opened it curiously. He thought it would be from Zara, and a tiny part of him hoped it might be from someone else, but instead this was a nice surprise. "Oh it's from Lisa," he said out loud since Nixon would know who she was from the paper. "That was so nice of her," he commented, happy to see the note. The last issue had been a huge success so it was nice to see others appreciated the work put into it. "Did you get any candy canes yourself?" he asked the younger boy.

Nixon's eyebrows raised when Lennon said the candy cane was from Lisa, one of the other members of the Hogwarts monthly. He did not think Lennon was close with Lisa but he clearly thought wrong as they were close enough for her to send a candy cane. Either way it was kind of her to send Lennon something and Nixon smiled, nodding his head in agreement when Lennon stated this. His smile changed slightly, however, when Lennon asked if he had received a candy cane himself. So far none of Nixon's friends had thought to send him something and though it made him feel lonely he had managed to ignore it as he busied himself with delivering candy canes to everyone else. But he began to remember the way it made him feel as he tried to answer Lennon's question and feign happiness. "Um, no." He said initially, before shaking his head and attempting to cover everything up with another smile. "But, I might get one later, who knows." He added afterwards, trying to sound optimistic.
