It was Halloween time again, a time that Willow generally enjoyed and she was sure that this year would be no different. She had a different kind of costume this year after all. She smiled as she looked in the mirror to make sure that everything looked good and fixed up some of her smudged make up. She quickly picked up her bucket of candy and placed it on her hip as she made her way out of the Ravenclaw common room and down to the Halloween Feast. As a prefect she was expected to hold a certain type of standard. She still had no idea why she was given the responsibility. It wasn't like she particularly liked responsibility after all. Still, she was determined to make sure that she had fun, but also didn't get into any trouble. It was for this reason that her costume was not as risqué as it might otherwise have been. The thought that she might make out with some student in the corner this year made her laugh. She was here to have fun with edible-candy, not eye-candy.

Walking into the Great Hall, Willow immediately began handing out the candy she had bought with her. It couldn't be a real Halloween with out the trick or treat and so only people with costumes were allowed to have any, which she supposed was disappointing for that group of second years she had to tell no. Well, they should have dressed up, it wasn't up to her to baby them after all.

sorry wrong account

Rhiannon headed to the great hall. She enjoyed halloween, she hadn't done before she came to hogearts. bu she did like dressing up in a costume. this year she was dressed as something that she hoped that in a couple of years it would no longer be a costume. she was in a lab coat and where a stethoscope around her neck. she was A Doctor. Dr McGowan. the school was abuzz but once she entered the hall she felt like she had reached the heart of the hive. She wandered around the hall looking at the variety of costumes. She saw a group of dogs playing cards. She had an idea that is was a couple of the more transfiguration strong professors. She had never really pursued to be an animagus. she had instead followed magic and muggle school. she continued wandering looking to see who she recognised. She saw an angel handing out lollies. "Willow?" she asked tapping the angel on the shoulder. it was a typical Willow costume. it wasn't over the top like some, it just seemed to have willow written all over it. it was cute, a little short to push the limits but not too short. she guessed that was the essence of Willow, pushing the limits but not too far. "nice wings" she added glad to have found a friend, she didn't have many of them, and one of them refused to attend the halloween feast.

Handing out candy was not really what Willow had expected for tonight, but she wasn't that put off by it either. It was fun to try and spot the people in the costumes. There were of course the standard types, the sexy, the scary, the i don't really cares and then there were a couple of dogs running around somewhere that Willow suspected might be some of the professors. She wondered how that was going. Running around as an animagus must have been a lot of fun. Willow smiled as more students gained the confidence to approach her and she offered them more candy. Some of the older students were fine, it was the younger ones who were the problem. Willow waved to some of the other prefects as she walked by them and gestured to her candy bucket.

Willow felt a tap on her shoulder and turned around. She grinned when she noticed who it was. Her good friend and patrol buddy. "Hello, Gorgeous!" She placed the bucket on the ground for a moment whilst she pulled her friend into a hug. She released her, picked up her bucket and stepped back slightly. "Thanks! They're cute, right? I had Hazel, my sister, pick 'em up at the store when she went shopping this one time. I thought that they'd make me look super cute." She winked and did a flirty pose. "Is it working?"

it was no more than three seconds before she had tapped willow on the shoulder than she was being higged by her friend as though they hadn't seen each other for weeks, no just a few hours. actually she was being greeted a lot better than her old friends back in tasmania greeted her when she was back for the winter after she had been away for a year. "I think you are the gorgeous one tonight, isn't that what angels are meant to be?" she asked smiling. She had been on patrol with willow all semester so far, and they had talked about their costumes. but things always looked different in person than in ones mind. "yes they are incredibly cute" she confirmed watching her friend winked and posed things always seemed to be more fun when willow was around. "It certainly is working. I had better keep an eye on you, or you will have all the boys after you" she said chuckling at her friends antics. they were already getting a few glances from people.

Willow was glad to have another person with her now. Rhiannon could help her hand out candy. If they didn't accidentally eat it themselves, which, given how hungry Willow was at this precise moment, was a real possibility. She laughed at the lame line, though she had a feeling it was completely unintentional and threw her arm around Rhi's shoulders. "Honey, the heavens aren't ready for me." She winked and pulled away spilling some candy as she went and just leaving it there. She didn't mind those little first years going after it on their own. Willow really liked Rhiannon, and she knew that it was in more then a purely platonic way. She also knew that Rhiannon did not share her feelings, she'd known it since fourth year. She wasn't sure how deep the feelings went and if Rhiannon had been open to it, she would have been more then willing to explore them, but she was content with how things were now, with her outright flirtiness and Rhi's sweet obliviousness.

Willow did a little twirl in the center of the room and move her shoulders to flutter her wings. "This is the best thing Hazel's ever bought me with all that money Samual has. He complains about her spending, but she buys it all for him, so he shouldn't be so judgey." Regrdless of whether Samual was wrong or right in any situation, Willow would always side with Hazel, that was what siblings did. "Well, you better stay right next to me then, I don't know what it is with you tonight, but wow, that doctor's coat is just, very appealing." She reached out and grabbed Rhiannon's hand to pull her behind her as she moved further through the crowd. "You look aces by the way. That jacket is amazing." Willow didn't know why, but she suddenly had a thing for redheaded healers. She moved off to the side a little and presented her bucket to her fellow prefect. "Candy?"

rhiannon wasn't quote sure what willow meant when she said that the heavens wouldnt be ready for her but she nodded in agreement anyway. It was funny thinking as willows sister as being married. she must note be much older than her own brother and she could not see Ewan married any time soon. maybe in a decade or so. "I am sure they were worth it, and i am sure samuel would agree if he could see you in them" she said. they were cute on her and well balanced, not too over the top like some students had their angel wings but noticeable enough to stand out.
She was taken a little by surprise when willow said her lab coat looked good. truth be told she had never thought of lab coats as being things people looked good in. maybe it was her limited experience of school chemistry classes. the one she was in tonight had actually bean taylored slightly, not to fit her, but tayloring was still tayloring. "Thank you, it is one of my mums old ounes" she said. her mum her mum had little need for lab jackets now. she was still a doctor but after specialising in paediatrics she hardly wore it as she found it was a little intimidating to the children. this thought did not quite have time to complete before she was taken by the hand and dragged through the crowd. at the second compliment of her jacket she smiled "Thanks, maybe i will get to wear it properly once i graduate" she said.it was no secret she was aspiring to be a doctor and healer. she felt her stomach rumble and realised just how peckish she actually was. it seemed like it was louder than she had thought as willow was soon offering her the basket of lollies "thanks, i think i need something to take the edge off." she said looking to see what there was. there seemed to be a mixture of magical and muggle sweets in there. she put her hand in and pulled one out at random. "hmm, a hershleis kiss. I've never had one of them before" she said unwrapping the foil from the almost teardrop shaped chocolate.

Willow rolled her eyes slightly at the mention of Samual's name. She really wasn't a fan and she knew Rhiannon was only mentioning him to make a point. Well, to be fair she had mentioned him first, but only more as a trust fund than anything else. Sighing, Willow nodded at Rhiannon and pointed out a couple of the first years. "You can always tell when its their first Halloween party in a magical school. Even not thinking about them being first years." It was usually the way their costumes were made. It was most noticeable with muggle raised ones, but they all tended to do the same thing anyway so it wasn't that big of a difference. Willow was fascinated by what must go through their heads their first time. She'd had Hazel to worry about her, so it wasn't like this was her first Rodeo. Willow grinned. "Well, your mother definitely has good taste. Is she a Healer?" If Willow remembered correctly there was a number of muggle professions that required a lab coat, Healers, Scientists, Researchers, she couldn't even think of them all.

"Does that mean you want to be a healer?" Willow knew there was another term for Healer that the muggles used, but she couldn't remember it. She'd never taken muggle studies in her life and she wasn't going to start now. She smiled then, as Rhiannon accepted one of her chocolates and was more then surprised when the chocolate of choice happened to be a Hershey's Kiss. Willow laughed out loud, so hard that she dropped her bucket and had to hold her chest because she felt it was going to explode. Merlin, she made it so easy! She calmed herself enough to get out a sentence and said, "Merlin, Rhiannon, if you wanted a kiss, you could have asked! I would've been happy to oblige!"

At the mention of the name Samuel she could see willow not floo tch as such, but mentally flinch. She knew her friend really didn't like her sisters husband but she had been the one to bring him up. As willow brought about a destraction Rhiannon watched the first years willow had pointed out to her. i guess you can she said. To her it wasn't so much the costume they were in. It was more the awe of the decoration. She tried to remember her first Halloween feast. She couldn't remember what she was dressed as, was it a film producer or was that second year? But it had been amaze to see so many pumpkins floating at the cealing, and the bats, and the food.
Rhi smiled when her friend said her mum had good taste. Truth being told she had never thought of her mum having good taste. She always seemed to be in blouses and smart clothes. Or in normal clothes. But taking about it she always looked nice I never though about it but I guess she does she said. She was still mum to her. both my mum and dad are doctors. And that is what I want to be, well I want to be both a doctor and healer she said. She knew it was going to be a lot of work but she reckoned she would be able to do it. After all she was doing two school curriculums. She was doing semester 1 of year 12 this year as well as sixth year, then nest year was just magic study and she would do semester two once she had graduated. what to you want to do after graduation she asked realising she didn't actually know.
She was just about to unwrap when the chocolate when she heard a crash and a burst of laughter. And she could see willow in stitches and the bucket on the floor with chocolate everywhere. She looked at willow confused. huh, what's so funny she asked. Felling like she had missed a seriously good punch line. She looked around just to make sue the hadn't missed somethg but she couldn't see, nothing. She ate the chocolate in her hand then She took her wand out of her pocket. A quick wave later all the chocolates rose off the floor into the bucket. By this time willow seemed to cave caught her breath enough to talk. "what? Any chocolate would have worked. Actually I think I prefer Cadburys to Hershey's she said. Still not quite sure what willow as saying.

Hearing that Rhiannon wanted to be a healer, made Willow rethink her career choice. She knew that Rhi was really academic, but she hadn't realised that she was that into it all. Healers were really smart and you had to get really amazing grades. Hazel had thought about being a healer once, but she much preferred to be working with muggles. Willow wasn't like that. She didn't not like muggles or anything, she also just didn't really want to get involved with them. They were creepy and had metal death machines and everything. Sam and Hazel lived on the outskirts of a muggle town, just after it became a magical one. So often Willow would run into a muggle and would never know what to say. She was always afraid she was speaking a foreign language, or wouldn't understand what they were talking about. What if it was something that every muggle knew? Would they discover her secret? Nah, she didn't want to risk it, they made her really uncomfortable. "I think it's really great that you want to do that, Rhi, I mean it's super hard, that's what I heard at least, I hope you get it!" She smiled at her friend, before frowning at the next question. "Me? Oh gosh, I don't know. I mean I thought I did, you know for a while, but now I'm not so sure. I mean there are plenty of things that I want to do, but I couldn't do all of them and I certainly don't have the grades for half of them... I guess I'll just be a flake!"

Willow really liked spending time with Rhiannon, honestly she did, the girl was her friend and it was great, but sometimes she was so bloody daft that it made Willow physically cringe. Seriously. She had been dropping hints their entire two years of friendship and still nothing. Willow sighed and shook her head. "Maybe one day you'll figure it out, but until then, I am keeping my mouth shut." She didn't think she was annoyed by it, more that she was disappointed. Though she knew that much of Rhiannon's attention was taken by that boy, it still sort of hurt that she couldn't see that her own friend was trying to get her attention. "I'm actually not a huge fan of chocolate would you believe? I mostly eat it because it's expected." She laughed then and shrugged. "Wanna dance? I'm almost out of candy."

It was sightly surprising that willow didnt know that she was going to be a healer. she had wanted to be a doctor since she was about five. it was one of those goals that she had set her mind to all the way back then and she would not be dissuaded no matter that the reason. she was also surprised that willow didn't know what she wanted to be. "you won't be a flake" she said. she wasn't sure what one was but it didnt exactly sound good."Of course you wont be able to do them all, you would be too busy. but what are some of the things you were thinking?" she asked now curious what sort of direction willow wanted to head in.
what willow said next made rhi feel like there was some sort of inside joke between them that she wasn't in on. was an in joke that only one person is in on a secret? she wondered briefly. she guessed it was. maybe a poorly hidden one. "one day i'll figure what out?" she asked a little bit of frustration in her tone. she didn't like feeling she was missing out on something. she had been an outsider often enough growing up and here was where she felt she finally fit in.
how can you not like chocolate?"[ she asked. it wasn't her favourite favourite food. but it was cirtainly heigh on the list. when willow asked if she wanted to dance she nodded "sure i think you need to burn off some sugar, and i like this song." she said taking willows hand as they dragged each other onto the dancefloor
