Sometimes Syncere missed being at Hogwarts New Zealand. It was funthere and shehad made some friends, but it was difficult with all the rivalry between the houses. Hufflepuff was the house no one wanted to be in. She had not understood why though. She loved the house to death, but there had been a couple of students there that wanted to burn the house down. What was so great about being in Gryffindor, Slytherin or Ravenclaw? If those houses were so great then Hufflepuff was just as great. She would have been liked it nowhere else. It was not like Hufflepuff had no talents. Slytherins were ambitious. Ravenclaws were seeking knowledge. Gryffindors were daring and all about forming bonds. It had put too much stress on her to be worrying about what people thought about her. She found it to be quite stupid and annoying. Syncere walked into the library. She found herself to be more attracted to the relaxed feel of Hogwarts' library, but she was a Beautiful Wand now. She had o deal with it. Even if it was hard. She did not mind having to tolerate something she did not like. Syncere was not one to blow up in someone's face. She was a calm but excitable person.

Syncere skipped over to the section that contained books on Herbology. Since she was so short she had to stand back in order to see all the book Beauxbatons had to offer her. Sh saw a bright red book that may be able to help her on her project in Herbology. She stepped closer to the shelf and jumped for the book. Her short, skinny fingers barely skimmed the book. She decided on a different approach. She got on the tip of her toes, like a ballerina, and reached for the book. Why did she have to be so short and the book so high up? It was not yet frustrating the girl, yet. She decided to keep jumping for the book. She bent her knees and jumped with her hands aiming for the book, her dress flowing with her. She hoped her ring was not holding her fingers back from the book. Syncere had a lot of energy, and she did not know how long she had been jumping, but she still had much more energy to use up.

Felix was not studious, he didn’t often find himself in the library. He wasn’t often found with books in front of him. Felix was the kind of guy who did everything last minute. Who tried to breeze past any and everything that he did. It wasn’t like he didn’t pass classes, but he did it barely. Grades didn’t concern the kid. He was young, these may be the defining moments of his life, but he realized that they mattered little. Grades would eventually not mean anything. He didn’t know what he’d do with his life, but he knew it wasn’t going to be school oriented, or things that he believed needed many grades. And despite everything, if Felix actually applied himself he could be quite good at his classes. However, it was becoming clear over time that he needed to ctually complete the homework that they’d been setting him. He hadn’t been too fussed about it before, but now, it was something his parents were driving for. His older siblings, even his twin were doing better than before, and his parents had promised, a good term meant he could go to stunt camp over the holidays. Which his parents thought he just couldn’t do it. However, Felix wasn’t the kind of guy to back down from such a challenge with such a promising prize. Felix really did love prizes. He loved winning, this would be the best thing to win at. However, as it turned out Felix had never really been in the library before then, so he didn’t know where anything was. He didn’t even know where to begin. The place was a lot bigger than he remembered it being. Which was odd, due to him not actually remembering the last time he used it.

He was just wandering around, walking up and down the aisle, looking at the different book covers and hoping that something would interest him. If it would be what he was looking forward. He then began to heard an odd sound. Like the creaking of floor boards. Someone was jumping up and down. He couldn’t help but wonder why, so like the curious person he was, Felix went in search of it, to find out what it was creating the noise breaking the silence that engulfed the library. It was the biggest reason why Felix didn’t go to the library often, the silence to him was often something that put him very on edge. After going through many aisle, he finally found it. A girl a few years younger than himself, desperately trying to get a book from a higher shelf. Smiling to himself Felix walked over. He was quite a bit taller than this girl. His jeans were hanging low on his hips and his t-shirt was slightly bigger than he was. He’d had his hair recently cut and since he’d slept soundly the night before, even Felix couldn’t deny that he looked good. He had an adorable smile and a way of brightening most people’s smiles. He smiled at the girl before reaching up and easily grabbing the book the girl appeared to be reaching for. ”Here” His spanish accent lightly dancing on his words. ”I think this is the book you wanted” he looked down at the girl and had his usual grade mark Felix grin. ”Do you need anything else?”

Syncere had been making a lot of noise with her jumping. She was a very determined girl. She had been jumping for almost five minutes. She bent her knees lower each time. Syncere was still being very patient with herself and the book. She was not going to start freaking out just yet. She was trying her best to keep her cool, which was slowly waring. She stopped jumping when an older boy came and took the book from the shelf and handed it to her.

Syncere smiled brightly at the boy. She held the book in her arms. The upperclassman's smile was completely adorable. She felt her heart pound a little harder. "Thank you! I neeed that one too." she pointed to a green book that was hard for her to reach too. Since the boy was older she had not seen him before. He was cute. There was no denying that. She wanted to admire him more she decided to try and test him. Syncere pointed at a thick brown book that was just a head above the boy. She did not really need the book, but she wanted to see if he could get it.

Felix had always found helping other students, beneficial. Some could be grateful for whatever he’d done, and repay him in a similar fashion, and other it was just better to be nice. It was always better to be nicer to girls than guys. It was an odd thing. Felix did however notice that he wasn’t the only one to do that. It was all about being impressive. Doing something for someone else was gentlemanly, and depending on what it was, it could be impressive. Felix had never really thought it much in that kind of a sense. His mind was more focused on how helping others was something his father had always taught him to treat people right, as he would desire to be treated. As he would imagine being treated nicely should be. It was easily said, and less easily done. After all some people just weren’t nice, and the desire to be nice to them was slim. It didn’t change things for Felix’s stance on helping younger students. After all, extending the nicest to the younger students would in turn encourage them to be nice to others. Surely. That was surely how it worked. Felix didn’t really know and his mind did not ponder on it took long, after all here he was helping someone who needed more of his help. And since he didn’t really want to be doing any work he was happy to be doing it. Who would blame him, he wasn’t interested in what ever class he was meant to be studying for. It wasn’t the greatest attitude to have, but Felix’s life revolved so much more around fun. Doing things that were different. Amazing. He smiled at the girl before reaching up and getting the green book down.

”Here” He handed her the book. Flashing a smile again. He looked back up at where she pointing. This was slightly higher than he had hoped. Felix was tall, but he still a bit to grow. He didn’t want to not be able to get it. He could always use magic, but where was the fun in that. He used magic at almost all other areas. The muggle way was just as good. So, instead of the normal ease he’d had before, the beaux teen stood on the tips of his toes and reached up, his t-shirt riding up his body exposing his waist. The slightly built body of the fifteen year old, showing the effects of the sports he played. With the tips of his fingers he grabbed the book and that brought it down. He gave a smile at the girl. ”Well, that was high” He gave a slight chuckle at his own words. He wasn’t the tallest, but nor was he the smallest. So some things were a struggle, but he was always making light of situations like that. ”Anything else?” Felix looked from the girl to back up at the bookshelf. He looked at the girl’s book. ”What are you reading up on?” Felix asked making small talk with the girl in front of him. He really didn’t want to do any work.

Syncere really did appreciate the older boy's help. If it weren't for him she would still be jumping and by now she would have tired herself out. She also would have recieved detention from the librarian. She did not like detetion, so she tried to be on her best behavior. That usually required her to be silent during classes. Sometimes she was too blunt with the professors. It was not often her motor mouth got her in trouble, but she always tried to watch what she said and to whom she said it. Syncere took the book and looked expectantly back at her elder.

Syncere looked on silently as the boy went to reach the other book she 'needed'."He won't be able to get it." she bet in her mother tongue. She just asked for that book to give him a hard time. Syncere was not normally like this, but she felt like having a little fun. She blushed when his shirt rode up to expose his waist. Her cheeks turned to a rosy pink. She looked away and tried to cover her cheeks with the two book in her hands. Syncere removed the books from her face, and she frowned when she saw he was able to reach the book without magic. She took the book with a smile and shook her head. "It is for a project in Herbology. Do you want to help me?" she asked excitedly. She subconciously stood on the balls of her feet.

Trying hard was always Felix’s main way of being. Well, he was all about being the best possible version of himself, even if at times that was more than a little bit difficult. After he was just another teen trying to make sure he had friends and people around him. The need to be included. It wasn’t hard, it was one of the things that made Felix, Felix. The nice streak, the warmth and the desire to despite the craziness he would be pulled into doing he was at the end of the day just a nice guy, a nice guy with a huge heart. A little teddy bear of joy. A crazy teddy bear of joy. After all, Felix was all about the fun of things. Doing the little things like getting books for the younger students was easy. There was no connection with the person, there was no real desire or need to follow up on the situation. Unbeknownst to the beaux teen was that his was seemingly an unattainable guy. His craziness he believed put many girls off, but in reality, they were hoping half the time that his craziness would translate into him being able to ask a girl out. Into the bravery to make the first move with a girl. While Felix found lots of girl’s attractive, he hated being the one to make the first move. He was sure that most girls found his antics, and his general being a little annoying. But, he was just out to have fun, so he never let it annoy him. Generally he didn’t even like to think about it. But, there was no denying he felt he would be better off with a girlfriend. The girl in front of him, much too young, he knew would one day make all the boys swoon. He nodded to her. ”I’d love to” He replied, there was a part of him that realized that he was maybe not the person to be helping her out. After all he hadn’t faired too well in first year herbology. The professor hadn’t liked him, due to the fact that Felix was always touching things he wasn’t really meant to. Curious natures weren’t appreciated in Greenhouses. But, now, three years on he was sure that a simple first year assignment would not prove too difficult for him. Surely. He walked towards the table and motioned for her to follow. He pulled a table slightly away from the window and pulled over a chair for the girl.

”So, I’m not the greatest at remembering stuff, so you’ll have to bring me up to speed.” Felix shot his usual friendly smile at the girl. He knew that he’d probably end up getting this girl a poor grade, but she’d asked for his help, and he knew there was no harm in trying. Felix did also know that in the event that it was too hard for his little brain, he would be able. Felix took a pen out from his pocket and got himself ready. ”I’m Felix, by the way. I realize I hadn’t introduced myself.” Felix smiled at her. Holding out his hand to her and shooting her a smile.

Syncere had appreciated the older boy's help. She was sure he'd be a great prefect. She held her books close to her chest. She was not used to being helped. Syncere was more of the type that would help other people even if she was not of much help. She was only a first year, so she was not able to do much, yet. She was excited that the year was almost over. She was doing well in most of her classes, except Herbology. The professor was willing to give her a a chance to be able to pass his class. All she had to do was write a report on the connection herbology and potions. She also had to do a report on some plant that was able to help cure acne. She had no clue what the plant was, but she was trying her best to try and pass this class. Syncere jumped up happily when the boy said he was going help her. "Oh yay!" she exclaimed happily. She followed him to the table. She was surprised when he pulled out a chair for her. She started to blush. Her cheeks were a rosy pink. She sat down and set the book on the table. It was time to get down to business.

Syncere giggled. She hoped that she would not regret asking for this boy's help. "Er, that's okay. I guess." she pushed some hair out of her face and behind her ear. Then the boy introduced himmself as Felix and held out his hand for her to shake. Sysncere was not one for physical contact. She did not even hug her friends. She just did not like touching people. "I am Syncere. It really is nice to meet you." she smiled at him and opened the red book. "So, I am doing a report on the connection between Herbology and Potions. Then I am suppose to do a report on a plant that can cure acne when brewed correctly. The professor did not tell me the name of the plant, though." she told him and started to flip through the books pages.

Never one to back down from a challenge the teen was aware if he couldn’t do it, he’d look like a fool. This was clearly kids work, and he had to be able to do it. What would a girl like her think of a guy like him if he couldn’t do simple herbology work. Felix had always been self-conscious about one thing. And of course it had to be education. he knew he wasn’t that smart, he could get by but most of the time he told few people how well or how poorly he did in class, what he did was just keep on working and jokingly agree with whatever was said about whatever class it was. He cared very little generally about what people thought of him, but there was just those odd days when he just didn’t want people to know how dumb he believed he was. Felix was however just trying to push through, it wouldn’t be hard, surely and the girl probably wouldn’t know any better about how wrong he’d been until after she’d handed in the work. Which would be a while, and when that did happen he could pretend to not know her. It would be easy, the chances of them running into one another was very slim. Which played in Felix’s favor, which was what he needed. Things needed to stay in his favor. It was how he stayed so carefree. Plus an unhappy Felix was one of the things most people would say they preferred to avoid. When he wasn’t smiling none of his friends would be smiling. A happy Felix was the light of the party, he could make any situation fun. Everyone knew him as that funny Spaniard. ”Don’t worry, you just do so much in the other years that the simple things of Herbology have become more advanced. Need to change mindset, is all.” Felix smiled at the girl, hoping to offer her some form of reassurance. Even though he was very sure why she would be, and knew she pretty much had reason to be.

”It is a pleasure to meet you Syncere.” He kept his eyes on her, smiling as he did so. ”It’s always lovely meeting new people!” Felix took the pen he’d removed from his pocket and twirled it in his hand. He nodded as she explained what she was doing. he took a moment to just think about it. Then pulled an empty bit of paper in front of him. He wrote in the center of the paper, Herbology+Potions=Connection, and then circled it. ”My step-mom always does this, it’s called a spider diagram, because you draw lines and write in short hand what one of the connections are, like so.” Felix drew a line from the circle to mid way between the center and the edge of the paper and wrote the use of plants. ”Get what I mean. So, when you have an idea or find something that connects the two you write it down. And when you start actually writing the report you can expand on what you’ve written. Get me?” Felix looked up and the girl and smiled. He was hoping that he understood her, because he didn’t think he was too good at explaining things and if he wasn’t it would make things hard for the two. ”As for the plant it’s called Bubotuber.”

Syncere simply nodded. She was a hard worker which is a trait that definitely landed her in Hufflepuff. She was not very smart because she did not pay much attention in class, but she always tried her best at everything. She did not know Felix was a hard worker, but even if he was not she would pull through because she was not going to get a T in Herbology. If she did it would be all her fault. Syncere wanted to be something in life. Even if she did not know what she wated to be yet. She wanted to have many oppurtunities once she graduated. That was her goal. She would work as hard as she needed to to reach it. Syncere reached in her messenger bag and took out a compostiton notebook and and a flowery pink pen. She would try to be as sweet as she could to Felix. Adjusting to Beauxbatons had put her in a snappy and irritated mood when she talked to other people. She did not know what to say because she did not really understand the sentence. She hoped it was something reasssuring and left it alone.

Syncere smiled. "Of course it is!" she agreed. She loved to meet knew people, but she had been keeping to herself since given her assingment. She had to pass Herbology and go home with a feeling of actually achieving something while at Beauxbatons. She looked over at what Felix had written on his piece of paper. It looked easy and simple to do. "Yes, I understand." she said while nodding her head. Spider diagram. Spider diagram. Spider diagram. She ran over the technique in her head. Syncere thought it was a great way to prepare for her report. It would definitely make it much eassier to write. "Bubotuber?" she questioned to herself and she started to flip throught the red book. She found a section on the plant. "Asa!"Awesome! she exclaimed quite loudly. She looked around and not many people seemed to mind. She giggled to herself.

The spider diagram was the method that his father had always used when one of them was struggling with something. Felix had this habit of making it a game. Where the person who could come up with the most spider legs would win. They didn’t win anything apart from pride of having won, but it motivated and got the brain going. Which for Felix was pretty crucial important, since he did struggle with remembering things and a competition brought out the best in him. Well, the most competitive version of him. Which was why he always ended up doing that almost all the time in this new age of him paying attention to his studies. It was the sole reason why he was sure that even if he couldn’t help the girl that much that his method would in turn help her out in the long run. She would see how good of a method it was and after that he wouldn’t need to do much more after all, she was the one who’d hopefully read up on the subject matter. He was just some guy giving her a hand to avoid his own studies. His avoidance was going great he just never imagined that would mean he’d go from one set of studies to another. He could at keast admit that her studies were a lot more fun that his. His were important, they meant a lot and he needed those good grade everyone else got easily. He didn’t hate being slightly more dumb than his friends. It was actually something he dealt with pretty easily, but he would work hard to help this girl so she would learn something and never be in any situation academically that resembled Felix’s.

He couldn’t help but laugh along with her as she giggled at finding the right section. All she’d needed was a little extra information. He smiled at her, finding this pretty nice. He was always keen to give a hand at home, but while this was somewhat different, he could see how she reminded him of his siblings, and Felix had plenty of those. ”You found it! Now all my stretching for the books have come in handy.” Felix smirked at the girl, showing a small bit of pride in his smile as she’d found it so quickly and in his own ability to remember earlier work. ”It’s pretty dangerous as a plant, because let’s be honest, who really wants acne. If you don’t dilutate right it gives you horrible acne, which is undesirable to say the least. Don’t you think?”
