Harper Ellis swung her legs in and out of the water, watching the splash as her feet fell. The cold of the water was calming, and made her smile. She was reading a book, The Book Thief, and even though it was a Muggle one, she was enjoying it. She was Muggleborn, after all.
As Harper turned the page, she had a sip of her L&P (Muggle drink, again - some things never stop), and a bite of an American hot dog smeared with tomato sauce. It was uncharacteristically unhealthy for Harper, but she'd just been to one of her little sister London's orchestra recitals. She deserved a treat, because noise, even noise like that of London's flute, gave Harper headaches.
She loved the feel of the paper in her fingers. The font. Even the cover - Harper loved to read. One of the things that Harper thought were absolutely swell about the wizarding world - along with everything else, of course - was that electronic books hadn't taken over the amazing paperbacks. She hated Muggles for that. Book stores had closed down, authors had written their stories for Apple and Kindle eReaders, and it made her mad. It was hard to find a good book these days.
