Amanda was walking around in Brightstone Village. She had gotten bored at her house and had decided to go window shopping. She wondered what there were in the shops that hadn't been there last time and how she would like it. She wasn't one of those girly girls that loved to shop, but she was almost as tall as her mother and she would need new clothes. She just wanted to find out what she wanted before she bought anything.

Today is the worst summer. Rainbow refused to follow her. The reason was she did not want to feel the sting of the sun. Huh! True - so boring! Ryleigh is not necessarily the direction of walking, intending to amuse herself. Maybe she should not continue. Ryleigh find some people who were busy with their business and this seemed to torture her. Ryleigh realized that she forgot to bring money and she can not buy something because of it. Gosh! Why was she so careless about herself ? Ryleigh intend to come back home but was immediately attacked feeling lazy. Why would she come back? She already got here. What if she only window shopping ? It would seem more fun. View and do not buy.

Ryleigh saw a young girl. Ryleigh looked around. Was she waiting for someone? Ryleigh not know. Therefore, Ryleigh greeted the girl. Only the usual greeting but Ryleigh felt that it would be enough to make the girl to distract her.

"Hello ?"

Amanda was looking at some of the clothes that were in the windows. She mostly got stuff that was, as they called it, "so last year!" She heard someone speak to her and turned around. She smiled at a girl the same age as her. "Hi," she said. "I'm Mandy." She put out her hand for the girl to shake.

Ryleigh realized that Mandy wants to shake hands with her. Ryleigh immediately smiled and shook hands with Mandy. "Alone, eh? I've never been here before ..." Ryleigh asked Mandy. "Oh ... I'm Ryleigh. Ryleigh Grimrar ... " Ryleigh added quickly, realizing that she had not introduced herself.

Ryleigh was looking around and watched some people. None of the interest to be tough what is being done by Ryleigh and Mandy. It's good for Ryleigh ! Ryleigh does not want to look conspicuous.

Amanda shook hands with the girl. She nodded. "Sort of. My parents let me go off on my own," she said. "They're somewhere else, but I promised them that I would meet them in front of Honeydukes at :cry:00." She looked at her digital watch. It read 2:00. That was good, she would be able to spend time with the girl for another hour, if the girl wanted to. Honeydukes was close by, so she didn't need a lot of time to get there.

Amanda nodded. "Ryleigh's a nice name," she said. "So, what were you doing here? I was looking in the windows. I want to know what I want before I go to buy it. I've found a few things that I might want to buy later."

Ryleigh as feeling grateful that Amanda was actually a pretty friendly person. Ryleigh was also hoping to find a friend before going to Hogwarts. Does Amanda want to enter Hogwarts, too? Ryleigh decided to think and then ask her about it. "I'm tired of being at home. Uhm, I should have stayed at home to keep my twin sister, Rainbow," Ryleigh answer question from Amanda. For a moment, Ryleigh stunned and wondering if Amanda entitled to know this information. However, Ryleigh smiled and thought that it never hurt to tell Amanda an information like this. "Do you want to go to Hogwarts too ?" Ryleigh asked. The question that had she been thinking since the beginning.

Amanda thought for a minute. So the girl had a twin? Why was she tired of being at home? She would have asked these questions and a lot more, but didn't want to seem nosy. It wasn't any of her business, she didn't need to know unless she met the girl's twin. She simply nodded, as if understanding, even though she didn't. "Yeah, I want to go to Hogwarts," she said, smiling. "I can't wait." She then remembered her brother. "But I hope we'll have time off there so I can go to France to see my brother." She blushed but then realized that she had shared something about her family just as Ryleigh had. She figured it was alright to tell her.

Ryleigh realized that this girl seems pretty cool to talk with. Ryleigh catched that this girl also has a brother. "Ah ... Is your brother younger than you? And wait, are you original french ?" Ryleigh gave a few questions. She felt that this girl should be able to tell more about herself because Ryleigh certainly will tell a lot about her family.

"Ummm ... Do you wish something for your dorm in Hogwarts ? Hufflepuff ? Gryffindor or ... " Ryleigh added, wants to see the reaction of Amanda.

Amanda thought for a minute, trying to find the best way to answer the questions. "My brother's older than me, he's 15. And we're not French, but he got accepted to Beauxbatons and loves France too much to leave." She thought for a minute about the house question too. "Well, I am hoping for Ravenclaw. But any of the other houses will be fine. What about you?"

Ryleigh heard the answer given and then nodded curtly. She had heard about Beauxbatons, one of the elite schools in the present course.

Amanda says that she prefers Ravenclaw. "I prefer Slytherin. My whole family into Slytherin and I'll be glad when it also happened to me and Rainbow," Ryleigh answered that question. Her mind drifted back to Rainbow. The child will definitely be trying to be more independent and if she could, she would ask to be placed in different dorm with Ryleigh.

Amanda nodded. "I don't know what I'll be based on my family," she said. "My mom was in Hufflepuff, and my dad was in Ravenclaw. And my brother didn't get sorted because he goes to Beauxbatons."

Amanda thought for a minute. She was tired of that stereotype, that Slytherins were all bad. They're ambitious, not evil. That's what her mom told her that the sorting hat had said. Ryleigh seemed nice.

Ryleigh smiled to Amanda. Apparently, this girl knows a lot about Hogwarts dorm. Amanda's parents is Hogwarts graduated too. Ryleigh remembered her parents and grinned. Would they be proud if she had not entered the Slytherin? Does she have to be placed as Slytherin ? How to force the sorting hat so that it would put her and Rainbow in the same place ?

Ryleigh quickly shook her head and realized that Amanda must have confused look Ryleigh shook her head like that. To eliminate the confusion scene, Ryleigh asked back to Amanda. "Are there any other Hogwarts students who've already you know?"

Amanda hoped that she would have a good time at Hogwarts. What would the Sorting Hat say she would be in? She wondered if the Sorting Hat had ever put someone in the wrong house before, for example, a cruel, betraying person in to Hufflepuff. She hoped she wouldn't be put in to the wrong house. She turned her attention back to the conversation.

"I don't know any people that already go there," Amanda said. "But I do know a lot of people who will be going there next year." She remembered meeting all of her friends. She hoped that she would meet up with them again. "What about you?" she asked.

"I only know a few people. I do not know, but I do not often to ask for this one. Maybe some of my sister's friends who also have a child that age same with me," Ryleigh said. Ryleigh was frequently spent time at home and rarely think about what is being done by other children the same age as herself. Ryleigh's not a closed child but she also was not the type who likes to socialize. It is hard to predict Ryleigh's mood.

Ryleigh nodded to Amanda and then spoke again, shows that she likes Amanda. "I imagined if I like you, have a brother who goes to magic school. I mean, I have Emerald as old sister but she had graduated from the school before I was born ..." Ryleigh said. Emerald is a 30-year-old sister. Obviously it was too far away to be a sister who can share stories about school life.

((Sorry it's a little lame. My muse is slowly disappearing in to nothing.))

Amanda listened to Ryleigh speak. "Oh, so she's a lot older than you?" she asked. "It's good to have an older sibling or parent who can tell you about Hogwarts and can give you advice." She remembered some of the advice she had gotten from her parents. Stay organized, she thought. Study a lot. Pay attention in classes. Uh, I should ask them for the rest. I can't remember them. At least I remembered the important ones.

Ryleigh felt that Amanda become more attracted about Rhyleigh's family. Ryleigh be more excited too. "Yes, she was older than me," Ryleigh justify and then she felt that it is her first time bcomes so open to others. She isn't closer enough with her old sister. Ryleigh's playmate is Rainbow and Rainbow seem bored her. This is evident from the way Rainbow tried to avoid or do not want do something with Ryleigh.

Amanda nodded. As she felt that this conversation has gone to wherever it could possibly go, she tried to think of another. "I can't wait for flying lessons," she said. "I hope I don't stink at it. My family is magical, but I decided I wanted to wait until school started to fly on a broom. I know how the game works, though." She closed her eyes, imagining what it would be like. She could feel the wind on her skin, she could hear the crowd's cheers. 'Mandy, Mandy!' There was something in her hand... She had caught the snitch!

Amanda zipped back to reality, blushing, realizing her hand was outstretched and in the position she would be in if she were on a broom. She went back to her normal position. "Sorry, was imagining it. I have a very good imagination, that's what my parents say."

Ryleigh listened to Amanda and winked. Quidditch? Surely this is about Quidditch. "I usually borrow a broom from my sister and try to fly. That was exciting. I can understand why you like it. I want to go on the Quidditch team!" Ryleigh voiced with gusto. It is distinguished by Rainbow which is usually like a monotonous thing. Flying is an exciting experience and Ryleigh envy those who already have their own brooms. Ah, why Hogwarts is so rigid and not allow a broom for a new student ? Though they may be more talented than the existing senior.

Amanda nodded. "I hope I'll be on the house Quidditch team when I'm old enough," she said. "Although, I'm not sure if I'll be very good." She sighed. "Even if I'm not, I guess it will still be fun if I can get on a broom and fly around for a while. Maybe with a friend." Amanda pushed the vision she had seen before out of her mind. That will never happen, she thought. Shouldn't get my hopes up just to have them crushed.

Ryleigh felt so happy talking with Amanda. She might be has some hobbies with her. And .... She is not rude like Ryleigh'ssister, Rainbow. "I will enter quidditch team ..." Ryleigh said to Amanda, calmly. She stard at Amanda, wanna knows her action for this statement. Yeah ... It's true. Ryleigh wanna be a quidditch player.

Amanda nodded. "I wonder if I'll actually be good enough to make it on the team," she said. She always doubted herself. And she was hard on herself, too. "I mean, I most likely won't. I'm only good at a few sports. Like soccer and basketball. I'm not really good at others, so I don't know how good I'll be with a broom."

Ryleigh was dumbfounded. This girl is not as it seems. Yes, she likes soccer, too. Gosh! Why could they have the same hobby? Although Ryleigh is from pureblood family, she is often watched muggle television and watched some sports, especially fotball. Two years ago, she watched World Cup and it was very exciting. Rainbow, unfortunately, hates muggle sports. "You love football like me. Gosh! I do not think you're so fond of Muggle sports," Ryleigh commented. Her face seemed cheerful, find friend who has much in common hobbies with her.

Amanda nodded. So the girl called it football. She thought of football in Boston. It had been a sport she had never understood. Her family had liked watching it, though. "Well, my parents wanted me to learn about magic at school," she said. "I mean, I knew about it. But I don't know how to do it. Except for Lumos and Knox. So I had to have something to do and I started playing soccer. It's very fun and always makes me feel better."

Ryleigh heard Amanda told about her parents. "I really wanted to study at Hogwart," Ryleigh said. And then she heard two spells given by Amanda. "You mean Lumos and Nox, don't you ?" Ryleigh asked. Ryleigh also less confident in the second spell but her sister is clearly using the spell every day if she needs a little light for the bathroom. Ryleigh was not sure if the pronunciation of the spell is correct or not. To prove it, she needs a wand and she doesn't allow to have one.

((Sorry for delay. I actually had a life for a while. I also apologize for the quality, I didn't want to delay it any longer, but my muse has started to run away again.))

Amanda nodded. "Yeah, those," she said. "I wish I had a wand! If only I could actually do them. I mean, my brother's lucky, getting to do magic at his school." She was a little jealous of her brother for being able to do magic. But she would be able to soon enough.
