Sorry for the lame start very busy at the moment

Taking an early morning walk around the castle, Jake wanted to clear his head. He had woken up from a nightmare that morning, his mind was in a distant place, a place in his mind where he could drift off to so he could get away from everything. Jake sat at a bench and looked around, the courtyard was completely empty, except for one person. He saw a girl who looked about his age reading a book. He didn't want to disturb her, he looked at the ground and thought about his dream. Jake had been having nightmares since his father died, he thought he was having them because of his father's death, he thought they would go away over time. For an unknown reason, the nightmares hadn't stopped. Some nights he dreamt about being chased, other nights he dreamt about falling down an everlasting abyss. At first the nightmares seemed unusual, they seemed surreal. Now they seemed more real than ever, becoming more vivid and disturbing every night. When they first started he had one nightmare every now and then but as time passed they became more frequent, instead of having one every couple of days he started to have one every day, and now he was having multiple nightmares every night.

Snapping out of his daze, Jake looked back up at the girl. She was still reading. Should i go up to her and say hi? He thought to himself, she seemed nice and she looked bored. He thought about introducing himself and starting a conversation with her, he quickly became anxious at the thought. If she was going to make fun of him he didn't want to talk to her, if she was going to be nice to him then he wanted to talk to her. He couldn't make up his mind. He had always had trouble talking to new people, he was worried they would end up using him and betraying him. He had thought about getting over his fear of introductions for a while, he needed to make friends at Hogwarts. He decided to get up the courage to talk to the girl; he stood up and walked over to her. He looked down at her, she didn't seem like the kind of person to insult him. "Hi ,do you mind of i sit with you" He asked, trying to sound casual.

Its okay :) I hope this is a decent post

Kate was just looking at the page of the book she hadn't turned the page in the past five minutes.Instead of reading it she had noticed a boy around her age looking over at her he looked shy "Maybe I should stop reading"she said to herself she was desperate to talk to someone but she didn't want to go up to him and scare him into talking to her she just waited patiently for him to come over she pretended to read her book once more a few minutes later she heard someone she looked up and smiled "Sure ya can"she said patting the seat beside her"this book is terribly boring my names Kate by the way whats yours"she asked smiling at him he seemed like a nice person to talk to.

Its grand! :D

The anxiety Jake was having about talking to the girl dissapared when she lat him sit with her. He was glad she didn't reject him istantly, one of his biggest fears is humiliation and he was releived she didn't humiliate him in any way. He still felt a little embarassed, he hoped he wasn't blushing. He became embarassed at the smallest things, sometimes even something as minor as pronouncing a word wrong or saying a sentence that didn't make sense. It was usually his anxiety of socializing that made him mess up and become embarassed if he did something wrong. It was one of the many flaws he thought he had. His anxiety came back at the thought of his flaws, he had so many, too many to count and each flaw was as obvious as the next. He was so insecure it usually caused him to become anxious about making new friends and talking to people, his insecurity had created his biggest flaw, being afraid of talking to new people. Ignoring how obvious he thought his anxiety was, Jake sat down next to the girl.

She introduced herself, her name was Kate. She seemed nice but Jake had experienced many people being nice at first and changing once he got to know them better, he knew that first impressions didn't always count. His intuition told him that Kate was different. He didn't want to make any wrong decisions and read too much into things. She had only introduced herself, she didn't mean anything else by it. He wanted to keep cautious, making sure he didn't reveal any secrets or any embarassing stories. He ran a hand through his messy black hair "Um, my name's Jake." he said softly. He felt his cheeks start to turn a shade of pink, his anxiety was showing. "If you don't mind me asking, why are you out here so early?" he asked with a faint smile, hoping Kate couldn't notice how embarassed he was. He wanted to talk to her more, if she notied how anxious he was, she might not want to talk to him. He wanted to have friend, he needed to have a friend.
OOCOut of Character:
I cant say its very good, im not sure it makes total sense or not :p

Kate noticed how nervous h looked but she didn't say anything knowing that would make him embarressed and even more nervous. "Nice to meet you Jake"Kate said smiling at him his cheeks went a shade of pink but she ignored it she remembered being like that when she first came in here but once she made friends it all changed. Kate thought about his question "Well I have a habit of waking up early and my iPod was dead so I couldn't listen to music so I decided to come out here but then I got very bored because none of my friends wake up this early"She said sighing " But now I have someone to talk to"She said smiling again "Why are you up so early"She asked softly she was probably scaring him with her loudness and hyperness so she decided to quieten down

Kate seemed like a nice person, as she continued to talk he felt his anxiety fade away slowly. She wasn't going to insult him instantly. If she was going to, she would have done it by now. He was releived she was being nice to him, a refreshing change from the Slytherin students he has encountered around school and in the common room. They would instantly insult him, they would find it funny and they would all laugh. Jake felt that Kate was't going to do that, she was in a diiferent house anyway and with every different house came a different steriotype. Kate was being a bit energetic, Jake didn't mind at all. He was just pleased he had somebody to kill time with this morning, there was usually not many people out this early and he was thankful that today he could spane his time talking to somebody instead of wasting time sitting on a bench and staring into infinate space. This was a habit of his, he had always read too deep into things and it causes him to zone in and out randomly. It wasn't a good habit but it wasn't the worst habit in comparison to other things, things that might be harmful.

Talking to Kate was pleasant, she kept smiling after she said something. Jake couldn't help but smile back, another habit of his. "I usually get up ths early, its just something i've done for a while." He said as he stared at his feet. He felt guilty about lying to kate, he was afraid she would think he was weird. He didn't want to end the conversation and telling her about his accessive nightmares might scare her a little, that was the last thing he wanted. "What's your book about? Is it any good?" Jake asked casually, he didn't really take any interest in the book, reading wasn't something he would do voluntarily. He just wanted to change the subject and that was the first thing he could think of to ask her that didn't sound unusual. He looked up at kate and smiled, waiting for her to answer.

Kate was glad that he smiled back and that he wasn't as nervous anymore. "ya I know what you mean it can be quite annoying"Kate said she looked confusingly she knew that he wasn't telling the whole truth but Kate wasn't the type of person to push people and if he didn't want to tell her that was fine with her after all they had just met. Kate looked down at the book she was reading "The name of the book is Linger and its just your typical forbidden love"Kate said sighing "and lets just say i won't be reading it again"she said smiling slightly. "Do you like reading?"She asked smiling

Jake had a feeling that Kate knew he was lying, it wasn't major and he knew that his lie wasn't harmful in any way. He wouldn't lie to anybody unless it was for their own good. He had always been that way, he was always honest about anything important but he lied to keep people happy. This habit had betrayed him before but he was just lying about nightmares. Something that didn't really matter, something that he thought Kate would be better of not knowing. He wanted to make her feel comfortable; he thought it was a good idea to keep his dreams a secret for now. Hearing that the book was about forbidden love, Jake smirked to himself. He found it slightly amusing that Kate was reading a book like that. Books had never really appealed to him, he was more into comics and drawing. He had been drawing for a while and he thought that he wasn't very good but every now and then somebody would comment and say they looked good. He had never believed them thought, he never thought he was good at anything, nobody had ever told him that he was good at anything. Except for the odd compliments on his cartoons.

He had forgot his notebook; he left it in his dorm room. He didn't care, he was just glad to be talking to somebody. "Books aren't really my thing, im more interested in comics and stuff." he said with a smile. He wasn't afraid to tell Kate about himself. He had always been very trusting of people and it was another flaw if his. He trusted that she wouldn't make fun of him. He looked deep in her eyes. Se seemed like the kind of person that wouldn't be mean to him. He was glad he had talked to her in the first place. He continued smiling; he hoped that Kate was glad to have met him too.

Kate wondered what he was lying about. She didn't really mind that he didn't tell her it was just her curiosity that was getting the better of her, it was one of her characteristics that had got her into trouble before and it would get her in trouble in the future. She was a bit confused when he saw him smirk after she said what the book was about but she just ignored it.

She was surprised when he said he liked comics but she his her surprised face she had never really been in the comics and stuff but she didn't mind hearing about it "What sort of comics do you like?"She asked smiling again.Since the first moment he had talked to Kate she knew they would become good friends.

Not knowing what to say next, Jake looked at his feet. It was a habit of his he had always resented. It kept him from being social. It was useful at times but when he needed to be social most, it plagued him. He frowned, kicking a habit wasn't always easy. He had tried to be more social before, it had been to his advantage too. He had made a friend, they were nice and trustworthy. Everything a friend should be. At least that's what he thought they were. He later found out they were using him to make another friends of theirs jealous. It had haunted him since, it was something that he couldn't let go of. Naturally, he stopped all contact with that person. Still, he couldn't let it go. Kate didn't seem like a deceitful person, she seemed sweet. He thought that he would be able to trust her. She wasn't in Slytherin so he assumed she would be kind, and she was. He was right. He knew Kate was a nice person, even though they had only talked once.

He thought Kate was interesting too. She had the guts to admit what her book was about and he found her interesting, not because of her taste in books, but because of her personality. He wanted to get to know her more."I like all kinds of comics, but i do prefer comics about ghosts and stuff." He said quietly, he felt himself starting to blush. He was a little embarrassed, he had just told Kate that he liked to read comics. When he usually shared something like this with somebody they usually laughed at him. He looked back at Kate and managed a small smile. He didn't want her to think less of him.

Kate smiled when he looked down at his feet it was something her brother did when he was nervous or didn't know what to so next.Jake seemed like a nice, honest person. He was the type of person Kate would like as a friend and she hoped he would like to be her friend too.sh wondered what house he was in her wasn't in her house and she doubted he was in her sisters house because her sister had told her all the people in Ravenclaw. She wanted to learn more about him which would help their friendship grow.

Kate smiled when he said what type of comics he liked "Thats cool I'm not really into comics its more books"she said hopping she hadn't insulted him by saying that "Though I do like TV programs and films with ghosts and stuff"She said smiling when she had a flashback of her sister and herself first watching a horror film it was quite funny the reaction her sister had had she laughed quietly to herself."Do you like to draw comics"she asked she was no good at drawim=ng it was more music that she was intrested in but she didn't like looking at drawing

Kate was pleasant, Jake enjoyed talking to her. He felt somewhat normal, he felt like he belonged somewhere. This was unusual for him. He felt guilty for being a little antisocial. He didn't want to ruin this possible friendship with a girl like Kate. She was accepting and she was pretty too, it was something he always noticed when he talked to girls. How they looked. He never judged them by their appearance and he had never made fun of anybody for what they looked like. He just couldn't help but notice. It was another one of his habits. He always thought about what was wrong with him; he always noticed when he was doing something wrong. Now wasn't an exception, he was being slightly rude to Kate, it was one of the last things he wanted to do. "I do draw some comics, but i mostly just draw pictures" he said looking straight into her eyes, he smiled. He wanted to make sure Kate was in a good mood.

He wanted to ask Kate so many different questions; he wanted to ask her about where she grew up, what her favourite food was, he wanted to ask her heaps. He decided to start with something simple; he didn't want to bombard her with questions. He thought it might scare her. "What house are you in? I'm in Slytherin." He asked, smiling once more. He never usually smiled but Kate made him feel comfortable enough to smile without being embarrassed. It was surreal for him to be so comfortable around somebody he had just met. He didn't care, he was just happy to talk to somebody nice for a change.

Kate was enjoying her talk with Jake it had been so boring earlier on but now she didn't notice the time passing. What Kate liked was that Jake was an easy person to talk to and he listened to her when she talked. "thats cool I wish I could draw but its not one of my talents"Kate said smiling "Do you have any drawings with you"She asked she would like to see some if that was okay with him.

She wanted to ask some questions like she always did to people she met but Jake beat her to it. "Well I'm in Hufflepuff" Kate said."Thats cool your in Slytherin I only have one other friend in your house"Kate said but sometimes she didn't like that house because there were one or two people whom she didn't like in that house but Kate hadn't judged them on their house it had been their personality she hadn't liked but usually she didn't judge people because of what house they were in she hoped Jake didn't think she would do that because she was quite the opposite she didn't judge on looks or anything but on the persons personality and Kate thought that Jake had a nice personality.

Jake had forgotten his notebook that day. He started to feel guilty that he didn't have it. He wanted to please Kate and knowing that she wanted to see some of his drawings that he couldn't show her, he felt like he was betraying her. "Sorry, i don't have any with me" He wanted to make her happy and he could do that by showing her his notebook, it was old and tattered and filled with drawings and comics about ghosts and anything he felt like drawing. There weren't many blank pages left and he knew he would have to get a new one soon, every time he thought about replacing something so close to him, he felt like he wanted to cry. Luckily, he didn't this time. He knew it was because of Kate. She made him feel comfortable with himself and everything around him so this time, he knew he wasn't going to feel sad. He loved that Kate could bring something like that out in him. He usually wasn't comfortable with anything but with Kate it was different. He looked deep into her eyes and smiled.

Finding out Kate was in Hufflepuff, Jake felt his smile widen. He was relieved that Kate wasn't in Slytherin. He hadn't thought she would be in the first place. She was too kind to be in his house and now that she had confirmed she wasn't, he felt even happier to be around her. She was a sweet girl and he enjoyed being around her a lot, this was different for him. Jake usually felt extremely uncomfortable around new people but it was a whole other story with Kate. "I don't like being in Slytherin, the other students don't talk to me, i don't have many friends here." He said, admitting that he didn't have many friends, his honesty was plaguing him again. He ignored it and continued to smile directly at Kate.

Kate was a bit disappointed when he said he had no drawings but she didn't mind "Its okay theres always next time"She said smiling. She looked over at him and looked into his eyes. She felt strangely comfortable with Jake it wasn't like she wasn't with other people but it was just different with him

She smiled when his smile widened when she said she was in Hufflepuff he sister usually made fun of her because of her being in the goody to shoes class but she usually ignored her.her smile turned to a frown when he said he had n friends in his house "Well its their loss that they haven't talked to you"Kate said smiling and it was true Jake was a really nice person and it was their loss. "Where are you from"She asked wanting to know as much as she could

Feeling so refreshed to find somebody in Hogwarts that wasn't rude to him, Jake held his head back. He loved talking to Kate and wanted to know everything about her. Even the bad stuff, he didn't think for one moment that she might've done anything bad. He just wanted to know every little detail about her. "There is always next time." he said, agreeing to Kate's statement. He felt accepted, Kate wanted to talk to him another time, she wanted to hang out with him more. He smiled to himself as he continued to look up at the sky. It was a beautiful day and he felt exactly what the weather was, sunny and bright. He felt happy and he felt his ongoing feelings of loneliness start to fade away. Still, he couldn't help but feel a little anxious, Kate seemed so perfect, and there must be something bad about her. He shrugged and ignored it; there was probably nothing wrong.

When Kate asked Jake where he was from, his anxiety grew again. He was reminded of his past, he was reminded of something he had worked so hard to forget. Thinking about it made him feel extremely uncomfortable, even around Kate. He looked down at his feet and held his hand around his stomach, he felt sick. He felt like he wanted to throw up. Jake rarely felt sick, his immune system was usually strong so it was the reminder of where he came from that made him want to vomit. He looked back at Kate and tried to smile, he wanted to hide is feelings. "I'm originally from London, i moved when i was 7" he said successfully forcing a smile.

Kate was enjoying this talk Jake seemed to have opened up more now which made Kate happy she watched him as he looked into the sky she did the same and looked up in wonder of how beautiful it is.She wondered about what he was thinking it was something that ofetn went through her head what are people thinking she would ask herself sometimes

Her smile vanished when she saw his whole attitude change when she asked him the question he looked as if he was going to get sick "Hey are you okay"She asked concerned he didn't look well at all she was going to drop this topic of conversation and change the subject when he answered her with a forced smile "Oh am I've just moved to outside London"she said upset that the question had brought him so much pain "I used to live in Ireland then I lived her for three months and then we moved to england over the summer break"she said smiling and trying ti lighten up the mood she decided not to ask a to personal question "Do you like music or sports"she asked smiling at him and willing him to be okay

Jake was flattered that Kate seemed so concerned about how sick he had started to feel after she had asked him about where he was from. He wasn't used to anybody being concerned about him and it made him feel so much better knowing that Kate cared so much about him to seem so worried, even though this was the first time they had talked. "Im fine." Jake said, The fact that Kate was so concerned made him start to feel a lot better but he still couldn't shake the feeling in his stomach that Kate's question had brought up.

As Kate changed the subject so rapidly out of sheer concern for him, Jake smiled, this time it was real and not forced like before. He thought it was interesting that Kate came from Ireland; he smirked as she said she now lived in London. "I go there for Christmas every year to see my grandparents." Everything about that city made him feel uneasy, he thought it was slightly amusing that Kate hadn't noticed that yet. He liked talking to hr a lot so he ignored the sick feeling he had so she wouldn't worry and be comfortable. That's all he wanted.

OOCOut of Character:
Sorry it's so short :p

Kate sighed in relief when a small bit of color in Jake's cheeks returned. "Are you sure you are alright"She asked still concerned. He looked better but still a bit pale she put her hand in his and smiled it was something her dad had done with her and it had always made her feel better she wondered would it was the same result with Jake

She was glad when he smiled properly she had a feeling his sudden change in emotion was to do with the fact about his life in London but she ignored it knowing if he wanted to he would tell her. "Thats nice"She said smiling "All my grand parents are dead"she said sadly "But I haven't really been in the new house so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing it"She said grinning "Where do you live in New Zealand?"She asked

It was weird for Jake when Kate touched his hand. It was one of the last things he expected. It did comfort him and it made him feel more comfortable around her. Squeezing her hand slightly he smiled at her once again, he was flattered that he even seemed normal enough to be touched. He had always thought he was the kind of person that nobody wanted to talk to which therefore brought on their rude comments. He had always thought he was weird and awkward which he probably was, now he didn't feel as socially awkward. It was because of Kate's soft hand brushing against his. He knew that they would be good friends, she had made him feel comfortable enough to smile again after his short outburst of anxiety and paranoia. It made him want to know more about Kate, it made him want to be more confident and it made him want to be her best friend. But most of all, it made him want Kate to be happy.

Jake frowned when Kate admitted her grandparents were dead. He felt sad for her, he wasn't very close to his grand parents but he would miss them if they were gone because they are the only family he felt remotely close to. He didn't really have a loving family to go home to and when he was in London with his grandparents it was the closest thing he could have to a loving family. "The new house must be cool if you are going to live there" Jake said with a sweet smile. He decided to ignore Kate's question and ask a more important question of his own. "How big is your family?" He asked, if Kate had a big family the house must be magnificent. He knew what London houses were like and the bigger houses were the best. He blushed as he realised how nerdy his question must've sounded.

Kate smiled when she felt him squeeze her hand she squeezed back and smiled it was something she did a lot these days it was like the muscels around her mouth were in a permanent smile shape. She was now glad that he looked better now and that his outburst of anxiety was now over. She knew that she and Jake would be good friends there was just something about him that made her smile and she hoped that this would continue

Kate sighed when she saw him frown "Don't worry I didn't know them"She said with a reassuring smile she had never even met any of her grandparents she hadn't really cared she had thought that everybodies grandparents were dead but when she had started primary school she had soon found out that this was not true "Thanks"she said grinning "Well its supposedly really big like a mansion or something my grand aunt died and she left her whole estate to my dad it was a bit of a shock though"Kate said and a big shock it was Sara had fainted at the news.Sometimes there was moments when it would sink in that she would never have a home in Ireland again and she would never be in her old house true the new one was cool there was a pool a tennis court and even a ballroom but she would miss her small home in Ireland.Suddenly tears came to her eyes and she looked away so Jake might not see she tried to answer his question but she didn't trust herself to speak this was why she was going to try and avoid this subject because when she really thought about it she would get really upset. She tried to compose herself but it wasn't working.

Will you post on my relationships please? :D The link is in my siggie! xD

This moment between the two of them seemed almost endless, they were connecting and Jake couldn't help but feel butterflies. He had a feeling that this newly found friendship would last a long time. It made him feel accepted and he felt like he wasn't completely alone, a feeling that he hadn't experienced in years. He didn't want it to end, it seemed so timeless, like they could both be in that moment for hours and not realise. It was almost poetic in an unusual way, like how in songs they describe an unforgettable moment between two people, much like this one. Jake knew he would remember it until the day he died. He smiled again, this time he started to blush, he had a friend, he trusted Kate. He wanted to be her best friend. Still, he didn't want to scare her in the slightest by saying what he was thinking.

Feeling relief as Kate said that she didn't know them well, Jake felt his blushing fade away. It was sort of funny, how Jake's mood always changed when the subject of a conversation changed. "Well, that isn't so bad." Jake said with a casual tone to his voice. "Oh, a mansion." He said with excitement. The mansions that were in London were some of the best houses you could find, in his opinion. He had always wanted to live in a mansion. Now he might have the opportunity to be near one instead of looking at them on television or in magazines. He would only get the opportunity if Kate thought enough of him as a friend to invite him over the next time he was in London. Notcing Kate start to tear up, Jake's smile turned into a concerned frown. Kate looked away to try and hide her tears but she couldn't. Jake put his hand on her shoulder "Are you okay?" he asked, conerned about Kate.

She felt something click between the two of them something inside them like they would be best friends forever she smiled. She laughed a small bit when he blushed not in a mean way but in a nice way.She felt he was holding something back but she ignored it.

"I guess"she said sighing again but smiling. She noticed his mood change and again she smiled. "Yes it is a manor outside London"She said grinning when she heard the excitment in his voice "Well Sara and I are organising a party during the summer to celebrate us moving in"She said smiling then she jumped in her seat "Oh would you like to come"She asked her smile widening it would be great if he could come.

She felt a small bit better when she felt his hand around her shoulder "I..'mm s..sor..r..y"She said trying to wipe the tears away "I..'m f..in..e its j..ust k..n.owing I w..ill n..ever g..o b..ack to Ireland a..gain"She said sadly just thinking about it made her cry even harder

Being interested in houses was something that Jake wouldn't normally do, he would usually ignore anything to do with houses. It was different with Kate, she was going to live in London, his hometown, the place where he was born, the place where he lived as a young child. It only interested him because he used to live in London, if it were anywhere else he wouldn't bother to be so excited. London was somewhere special to him, in its own deluded way. Jake had his worst memory there and even if he hadn't been disturbed by it, he would still be interested in it as long as it was London. That was the only reason it was London.

Kate was hysterical, Jake still wanted to know why, he really hoped he could make her feel better but he had a feeling he was far from that due to how hysterical Kate really was. She could barely talk and it made him want to help her even more than he already did, which was a lot. "It's okay, you could go back to Ireland again" He said with a slight panic, he felt worse as Kate continued crying. He didn't know what to do. He needed to comfort her, if only he knew how. A light bulb went off in his head. It was a long shot but it was worth trying. Jake cradled Kate's face with both his hands and moved his face less than an inch away from hers. "I promise that when we are both old enough i will take you back there" He stated with a dark undertone, he was being honest; hw would take Kate back there, only if she agreed though. He was starting to panic and he would calm down completely if Kate felt better.

Kate could see that Jake was intrested in the London and her house she wondered why true she could wait to see her house but she wondered why he was. "Why are you so intrested in London?"She asked politely

Kate felt so bad for Jake because she was crying she hadn't meant to but now she had started crying she couldn't stop. She tried to stop thinking about Ireland but the image of her old house kept going through her head. She was angry at herself for crying so easily she still tried to hide her face but suddenly Jake grabbed her and looked at her straight in the face.she felt comforted by his words she stopped crying and hugged him tightly "Thank you so much Jake that means a lot to me"She said still hugging him it meant so much to her that even though they had just met he was willing to go to Ireland with her. "Your the best friend in the world"She said wiping the tears from her eyes she felt a small bit embarressed but the worst was worst now.
