Ella wasn't sure what to do once she had finished all her homework. She wished there would be more of it as she quite enjoyed writing the essays for class, even if they were pretty easy to write. She considered going to the library again as it would be quiet and peaceful there but eventually decided not to because she still hadn't returned a book she had borrowed during the first week of school. The fact that she had nothing to do made her yawn which was something she hadn't done before at school unless it was late at night and she needed to go to bed. She thought about going to the pitch at first to work on whatever she could improve so she'd make the team next year but after debating with herself about whether or not she had the energy to walk all the way up to the common room, decided that she would instead turn a corner and walked towards the student lounge. It wasn't as busy as she thought it'd be when she entered the room which was something she was glad about because she didn't want to be around people who would be making a lot of noise at the moment.

There was one pretty significant disadvantage to your mum's office being in the library; it made it the worst place imaginable to try and get homework done. Even if Mum had no idea Charlie was there she still felt hyper conscious of her mother just a wall away, doing whatever counsellors did. The Student Lounge had become Charlie's go-to place for homework. It was easy enough to get her books and take them round the corner to somewhere a bit more comfortable and less intimidating, and the usual rowdiness of the room rarely bothered her. Today the lounge was blessedly quiet though, and Charlie was having no trouble focusing on her essay. Unfortunately, the essay wasn't especially interesting, and that left Charlie free to distract herself. She glanced up when she saw someone else entering the room, a Ravenclaw girl she recognised from a few classes. Keen to make some conversation and avoid finishing this essay, she nodded to the girl. "Sup." Charlie said casually. "Nice beanie."

Ella looked around the room to see who else was here before she smiled at a girl she shared classes with when she complimented her on her beanie. She had become really attached to the beanie over the years. It had been a birthday present from her grandmother when she turned ten. At first, she didn't really care about the beanie, thinking that it was stupid and that if she would wear it the other children at school would think that she looked stupid, but after her grandmother died two months later, she had decided to finally wear it to school to commemorate her. ''Thanks,'' she said, putting her backpack down as she seated herself across from the girl. ''Whatcha working on?'' Ella asked, nodding at the parchment in front of the girl.

Anastasie was in search for a room to be alone in. She was always having trouble doing so and it soon became frustrating. The Slytherin carried her violin in its case all the way down from the Slytherin common room, walking through each of the corridors to find somewhere to go and play it. Eventually she came across a door on the fourth floor to a room she had never been to before. She opened it quietly to find two older people already in there. Deciding she would never find another place, the girl welcomed herself in. "Hello." she said to the girls, placing her violin case on one of the armchairs on the other side of the room. She opened it up to reveal the wooden instrument and smiled, hoping the girls wouldn't mind her intrusion.

Charlie was pleasantly surprised when the girl came over and sat with her, relieved for the excuse to drop her quill. As fascinating as magic was, homework had just never been able to hold Charlie's attention, and she would much rather chat with other people in her year, see if they were worth getting to know better. "Just homework. It's pretty boring." She shrugged. "I'm Charlie, what's your name?" She asked, curious. She was surprised when a younger girl with some sort of instrument case addressed them. "What're you doing with that?" She asked when the girl opened it up, hoping it wasn't something too noisy. From the distance Charlie was at it looked like a string instrument to her though, not as bad as if she had revealed a trumpet or something.

She grinned. Of course, the homework assigned to them by the Professors was boring. It was too easy, though she wasn't going to tell the girl what she thought of it until she knew what the girl thought of it herself. Ella smiled when she introduced herself. ''I'm Ella,'' she replied happily. Ella tilted her head sideways when the younger girl revealed a violin to them and secretly hoped that she wasn't going to be practising here because the Ravenclaw enjoyed how quiet the lounge was apart from Charlie and her talking to each other. She nodded her head slightly when Charlie asked the girl what she was going to do with the instrument, eager to know that too. Although she thought that if was cool that the girl seemed to be playing the string instrument, she hardly thought that this was the place to be doing so.
