Deme stretched as he reached the top of the cliffs, it was quite a climb, but he was determined to reach the top, he hadn't been here and he didn't have any classes today, so it was perfect. Though he wished the school would have elevators or escalators or something that would enable him to not have to climb as much as he currently had to. It was ridiculous the amount of stairs he had to scale to get anywhere, in order to go to bed, he had to climb up to the Ravenclaw towers, in order to go to breakfast, he had to climb down all those stairs, when going to Herbology in the morning, he had the wake up super early, go down several floors, and cross the lawns to get there, it was insane. Sometimes he felt like just falling asleep and just forgetting everything, he didn't like sport and all that, ht didn't enjoy having to climb millions of stairs to go to bed, and then having to walk down them all just to go anywhere else, he even had to go down several floors just to go to the toilet or have a midnight snack. He sighed at the thought of him having to cross the lawn and climb all those horrible stairs, he could already feel his muscles ache at the future exercise they were going to get, oh what he would give to be in Slytherin or Hufflepuff, for one, his adoptive older siblings were in those houses, and they were so much closer to everything, escept maybe Astronomy, but that was just one class out of many, Demetrius was sure he would die by the end of this year, and if he didn't, he would demand that he got some sort of 'Congratulations' present from his adoptive parents, they owned it to him for not deciding to drop out after he was confronted with those stairs.

He stretched his arms and yawned, he spotted a lovely looking rock near the edge, that would be perfect, it was roundish and smooth and looked soft, for a gigantic stone on the edge of a large cliff. Deme walked towards it an plopped himself down on it, slouching as he watched the stars and moon start to come out, he may have been out after curfew, but he didn't really mind it too much, though there was one thing bugging him. Demetrius Aurelious was bored. He groaned with annoyance, he was on the edge of a brilliant cliff and the stars were nice and pretty and he was bored? He wasn't going inside, not yet, he had just spent his time and energy walking down all the stairs from Ravenclaw tower to the lawn, then he spent the last ten minutes scaling the cliffs, he was not going to climb down the cliff, cross the lawn and go back up the stairs, not without doing something, even if it was just talking to someone, he wasn't going to use up more of his energy. "I can't believe I'm bored..." He muttered, shaking his head, his dark blue hair falling in front of his pale face. He blew his hair out of his eyes. He pursed his lips and cracked his knuckles, in a failed attempt to entertain himself. He sighed once again and started to get up, but he heard something fall, prehaps a rock? He turned around and looked around him, the area was quite dark already, the sun had fallen behind the tall trees of the Forbidden Forest, he narrowed his eyes and scanned. "Who's there?" He asked, standing up and pulling out his wand. "Lumos." The area grew bright and he tilted his head slightly. "Hello?"

Being out of sight of an annoying little person can be a huge relief. Collin can't thank Merlin enough for keeping his little sister out of his sight. The feeling was freakishly incredible. But, Collin wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual. Though, judging Jessica's attitude, she was probably leaping for joy right now. Today was a wonderful day and Collin prayed Jessica won't come around and ruin it. As Collin ran his fingers through his hair, he spotted a little blond girl's silhouette sitting on the lakefront. He wasn't sure if it was who he was thinking of so he suddenly took midget steps towards the girl. As Collin observed the girl, he can pretty much guarantee that it was Jessica. The girl had this shoulder length hair that is the color of the own hair particles that sprouted on Collin's head. Collin tried to keep his steps as quiet as possible but unfortunately, they weren't enough for his satisfaction. Apparently, the girl somewhat heard those steps coming in her direction, she quickly turned around and Collin was indeed, correct. Before Jessica could spat any words, Collin turned back and ran as fast as he could, heading towards the group of cliffs. He did not care if he would step on whatever creature there is. All he cared to do was to run away from his devil sister.

When Collin was sure his sister was out of sight once more. He stopped on his tracks to catch his breathe. He turned around and looked for his sister. Fortunately, his sister is the slowest runner on their family so Collin was glad she wouldn't come around and follow him. To be sure, Collin looked around to see if there were big stones around for him to use as a hiding place. And sure enough there were. Collin went to the biggest cliff and climbed it. It was pretty exhausting and a real challenge for the rocks were clearly very pointy. When Collin was close to reaching the top, a small amount of rocks fell. It was quite noisy and obvious. Collin let out a curse word and continued to pursue himself to climb the rocks. Collin let out another curse word, under his breath this time when someone asked a question indicating if someone is in the same place as he/she is. The voice was quite childish if you asked Cole so he wasn't sure if the voice came out of a girl or a boy. Still, Collin continued to pursue his actions. He finished climbing just as a wand with light on it's top appeared in front of him. The person was quite blurrish with the light and all so Collin hadn't determined what the person's gender. He squinted as the light's direction hit his eyes. "Hey! Can you please turn off the light. It's getting on my nerves." he replied, annoyed, obviously.

Deme stood firm, well, as firm as the small Russian could handle. He was quite small, a little thinner than other kids his age, but that didn't mean he was going to turn tail and run away, he was far too stubborn to do that, and his natural curiousity also stopped him from leaving, he wanted to know what was lurking out there, though he wasn't sure if the thing was friendly, or was going to eat him, he still wanted to know before he left running for his life, if there was a threat that is. Little did Deme know that it was just aboy that was climbing up the side of the cliffs, trying to get away from his sister. Deme didn't have cat eyes, he didn't know such things, so he stood his ground stubbornly, though he his hand was moving a little from worry that slowly made its way through his body. He was eleven, though he was not afraid of the dark, Deme was afraid of what might be in the dark, anything could be there and he didn't know if it would be friendly, or if he would have to start running very fast. He slowly moved his light wand across the cliff and stopped when it shone on a boy, who didn't seem to like it that much. Deme sighed with relief and lowered his wand slightly, but didn't call off the light. He watched the boy hall himself up and frowned. He could have taken the slightly steeper part of the cliff, he would have saved his hands from the pain of climbing up that side. Deme had decided to climb the other side of the cliff because it was smoother on that side. Deme liked his hands to be non-harmed, they were not very tough hands and he had enough scars, he didn't want any from trying to climb a cliff face, just so he can look at the moon, that would be insane, and he would go to bed with sore hands.

Demetrius only half understood why the boy was annoyed, maybe the light was too bright? It was possible, but Deme refused to turn it off, it kept away bugs that would surely attack them once it was extinguished. He smiled warmly, he wasn't sure if the boy could tell who, or what he was, considering his voice had yet to break, so it sounded quite girly, and his shoulder length hair probably didn't help the issue. "Hey there!" He said cheerfully, he was rather relieved that the boy was not some creepy creature, or a Professor, that would have dampened the mood just a bit. "I'm Deme, vhat's your name?" He asked, his russian accent showing a little, though he had been trying to speak more 'New Zealander' for his adoptive parents, when happy or scared, his original accent came out to say hello. "I must admit, you scared me." He confessed, hoping that he could make a potential friend.

It became hard for Collin to make out what thing is producing the light. It was very bright for his liking and it was pretty dark. He squinted his eyes but no idea seemed to come to his mind. Collin felt a little down when he realized he was going to share this cliff with another person. But if it'll be a reason to avoid Jessica then he'll take the offer. How bad could it be?, he thought casually. Though he couldn't act as casual as he wanted since there's this light that's completely stealing his ability to see and his hands hurts really bad. He turn his gaze down at his hands, he wasn't sure why it hurts. He guessed there's something that's biting him since his skin felt prickly and pain was gushing through it. So, he wiped his hands on his jeans but the pain still continued to flow. Collin didn't knew what to do so he just ignored it. When he forgot about the pain, he realized he just successfully escaped his sister. A flush of relief suddenly flooded him. He was glad to be escaping his sister since he's already given up hearing Jessica's old theories about who's their parents' favorite kid and stuff like that. Collin's remained squinting as he faced the light in hopes to find even just a silhouette to where the light is coming from and to whom does the device that produces the light comes from. Still, no silhouette, not even just a shadow appeared on his vision.

The owner still didn't turn off the light which made Collin a bit frustrated. Only a bit, though. Maybe the owner was trying to figure out his face or maybe he was scared of the darkness. Collin continued on squinting while he wait for the person to turn off his light. Later on, a little voice called and it seemed to be coming from the light. Collin realized that it was a person. A little kid. He didn't know if it was a boy or a girl since it sounded squeaky. The voice greeted him and introduced itself as "Deme". Collin squinted harder, but still, nothing came to his vision. "Uh, I'm Collin" He replied uncomfortably. The person was rather cheerful. Collin didn't know why though but he'd like to know once he get the chance to look at his/her face. The person, it seems, came from Russia judging his accent. It sounded great though, with his/her little voice plus his/her accent. Collin frowned when the person told him he scared his/her. "Sorry. Didn't meant to. I was running from a monster." he explained. "Do you mind turning off the light? You're literally taking my ability to see" He added, pleadingly.

It's completely fine, I get that you were probably been busy, and as have I :p

Deme watched the person carefully, they didn't apear to want to attack him, though he wasn't sure what he would be able to do if they did attack him, because he was standing on the edge of a cliff face, so he didn't really have anywhere to go, unless he fancied seeing if he could fly without a broom, which was no where near the list of things he wanted to do before he died. He looked around for an escape route that did not include growing wings, just in case he needed it, he did find one, if he managed to trip the person over and slide down the side of the bumy cliff, it would hurt, a lot, but he would be willing to do it if he had to. Hopefully, such excessive measures would not have to be taken by the eleven year old. The person, however, seemed a little annoyed, or maybe upset, Deme couldn't be sure, he tilted his head and sighed slightly. "Are you okay?" He asked. If they were injured or something, it would probably be their fault for climbing the cliff incorrectly, didn't mean that Deme didn't care about their health and well being, it was because someone cared about his health and well being that he was here today. Merlin only knows what would have happened to him if he were not taken away by his parents and given to the Aurelious in that international adoption. The onlky reason he went to them and not a Russian family was because he was magical and it was illegal to reveal magic to muggles, otherwise he would still be under the tight rules of Russia, unless the muggle family sent him here, would he could never be sure of.

Deme nodded to what the opbviously male voice told him. Collin, such an interesting name, Deme had never heard it before, though most of his memory stemed to Russia, not any English speaking countries. Which was what confused him a lot, the way New Zealand worked, Deme was too young to fully understand politics and laws, but he could tell that he had much more freedom of speech in New Zealand, than Russia, it was just the vibe he used to get when shopping with his adoptive mother, they seemed to have more freedom on the streets of New Zealand, than what his mother had on the streets of Russia. "Hello Collin." He said quietly, taking a small step closer to the source of the voice. He giggled slightly, at the tone of the boys voice, Deme could tell that 'monster' was not something with big teeth and sharp claws, but something else, something more appropriate to giggle at, though what that thing was, Deme was not sure, but he didn't question the boys logic and ignored the curiousity that was building up in his small frame, besides, if the boys hands were bleeding all over the place and that, Deme had bandaids because he thought that he might accidently cut himself on the cliffs. He glanced at his trusted wand for a few seconds, then nodded. Where was the harm? But for safety reasons, he didn't turn off the light, he moved it behind him, so it was no-longer in the boys eyes, but was still illuminating the area around them, making them able to vaguely see around. He flipped his hair out of his eyes and smiled slightly. "I'm sorry, but I'm not a fan of the dark." He explained. Too many memories and secrets could be held in the dark, Deme much preferred light, it was safe, warm and made him feel happier. "Vould you like to siet?" He asked, motioning to the large rock formation to sat on earlier.</COLOR></FONT>

The pain from Collin's hands were starting to bother him now. The prickly feeling was ridiculously painful. Collin did not even know where it came from. The cliffs maybe?, he thought as he grabbed a handkerchief from his back pocket and wrapped in around his left hand. Both were painful, unfortunately, and Cole only got one handkerchief. He shook his head and scratched his blond head. He decided to abandon his right hand. He figured that if the handkerchief will ease the pain on his left hand soon, he'll just transfer the handkerchief on his right hand when he feels less pain on the other. Collin heard the Russian boy named Deme, talk. He squinted his eyes in hopes to see a clue again but nothing comes around. "Erm, not really. My hands feel like they're being pricked" He replied sheepishly when Deme asked him if he was alright. Collin really did not have any clue to this person called Deme's physical appearance. Whether he's tall or not, from Collin's house or not, or a boy or a girl. The male gender was just a guess really, since Collin is hoping that the person he is having a conversation with did not involve any kind of female DNA or whatever.

The name Deme seemed unisex though. Cole already wanted to ask him (if he's really a boy) his gender. But for some reasons, that seemed a bit insulting. Even though Collin lives in France, he's accent still remained American. Cole is originally American but his family moved to France because of his father's company. Collin hasn't been spending lots of time there though since he's always in America whenever school breaks occur. He only visits France once or twice a year and spends only a week or two there. Collin was starting to get annoyed by his painful hand now. It just occurred to him that if his hands were bruised or scratched, it will take a while for them to heal and that his sketching will be postponed. He quickly grabbed his shirt and covered his right hand. "Uh, Hey" He replied when Deme greeted him. Collin heard him giggle which sent clues to his brain that Deme might be a girl. Oh, no, please no, He thought. The giggling was maybe because of the fact that Collin looked very annoyed or maybe for the fact that he just called his sister a monster. Of course Deme doesn't know that but still. Later on, Deme finally removed the light which caused Collin to sigh in a huge relief. Deme didn't turn it off though, he just removed it from Collin's eyesight. "Thanks" he replied, his tone of voice unmistakably full of relief. Now Collin realized that Deme is a boy which made him more relieved than ever. Deme apologized to Collin and told him he wasn't a fan of the dark. Collin understood, he himself isn't either though that doesn't mean he's scared of it. It just annoyed him. "It's okay. I'm not a fan myself, either" He replied encouragingly. Deme offered Collin a place to sit. Collin didn't hesitate and said "Sure, why not?" and sat on the rock Deme motioned for him to sit.

Deme could hear a small whistling sound coming from the forest, a small breeze was brewing and Deme shivered slightly, he was only small, since he was eleven, and so the cold was not a friend of his, even if Russia was ten thousand times colder than this, he had adapted to New Zealands weather rather quickly, and in Russia he would always be wearing nice warm clothes, and one of his parents would use a spell to keep him warm, but he couldn't remember which one, he knew his father had magic, but from oher memories of the man, he highly doubted he would have cared if Deme froze to death, so he probably didn't ever cast a spell that would actually help the Ravenclaw in any way. Deme watched Collin wrap his hand in a handkerchief. He doubted that that would to much, not that he was a ceretified doctor or healer or anything, but even he could tell that the handkerchief was probably not going to help much. He nodded at Collin's answer, t'was expected. "The sides of the cliff are pointy," he explained, glancing over at them with a small frown on his pale face. "They probably jabbed your hands, do you want a bandaid?" He asked, going closer to Collin to make the possible exchange easier, he doubted that Collin would be able to catch bandaids that were thrown at him in the dark, so he didn't throw them. Deme couldn't quite put his finger on it, but Collin seemed confused by something, just something in his voice, it was quite distracting for the young Ravenclaw, as he found himself trying to figure out what was wrong with the boy that stood in front of him.

Deme giggled slightly when he realised that he had just used an English greeting twice, how odd, but it seemed called for, one for when they were strangers, and one for when they had swapped names, though, Deme wasn't exactly used to speaking with people, except Taylor, but she was different, he felt comfortable around her, he fully trusted the Gryffindor girl, but not quite enough to allow her into his inner thoughts. They were his thoughts and no-one needed to know of them at all. The unfamiliar accent caused Deme to become even more curious as to who the boy was. Deme's curiousity and lack of respect for rules and regulations would usually get him into trouble, but that wasn't so bad, being in trouble could be fun sometimes, unless you're grounded, or put on detention or something, that was never fun. He listened to the relieved sigh that left Collin's lips, the light must have been really annoying him, probbaly as much as the darkness was annoying Deme. The curious thing was that if he was alone in this darkness, he would feel much better, but since he had company, he was alert to his surroundings. He nodded apologetically. "You're very welcome, Collin." He replied, quite chipperly, his own voice was making him laugh, being a claustrophobic, even the castle would sometimes make him feel like something was looming over him, but right now he was on the top of a cliff, this was the most open place on the grounds, which meant it would be his favourite, even if it was dark, and it was out of bounds, and it took Deme seemingly a thousand years to climb, it would soon be his favourite. Deme smirked as Collin seemed to have the same opinion of the dark as he did, it was not a very nice thing at all. He followed Collin to the rock, and hopped down beside him, careful to make sure that the Lumos of his wand did not attack Collin's eyes again. "So vhy are you up here?" He asked. "Other than running for a 'monster'" He added, deciding to make conversation with the obviously older boy, he was bigger afterall.</COLOR></FONT>
