Visits to the Hospital Wing were at a record number these days. Quidditch was the ultimate perpetrator, and the nurses probably figured it was responsible once again as the two Ravenclaws stumbled through the doors. Sumner looked like he had been run over by a manticore. While Estrella didn't have blood soaking her front, she was pretty sure that she had broken something. Her lip quirking, the older Ravenclaw chided to the younger, "You look like hell."

Sumner nodded and grinned although it made his nose throb like hell. "Stop it. You'll give me a big head." He looked through slightly swollen eyes and noticed that whichever nurse was on duty must be in their office. Whether it was from his rapidly developing sick sense of humor, which he blamed on Kat, or loss of blood, what he did next made him chuckle wetly. Opening his mouth he let out a high pitched scream. "Think that'll get their attention?" he asked dryly, cutting his eyes to Estrella with a smirk.

Estrella snickered and plopped rather gracelessly onto one of the cots. Why were nurses never around when you needed them? The seventh year was not looking forward to whatever medicine or cure would be dished out. She felt pity for Sumner, who would probably have to take the worst forms of treatment. Her eyes widened as an ear piercing shriek ripped from the fifth year's throat and echoed throughout the Hospital Wing and probably the rest of the third floor corridor. Instead of scolding him, the eighteen year old could only shake her head. "Bloody hell- how come you've never applied to be in the Sorority?" The boy's antics worked; a nurse rushed out of her office, her flustered expression turning to one of anger. "Sorry; I think I hit my friend here a little too hard in the head." Estrella's smile was apologetic, though on the inside she wanted to burst into giggles.

Sumner more fell than sat on a cot. Loss of blood made spots blur around him. A dull roar began again in his ears and just before he passed out, he laughed and mumbled, "So g'nna kick yer ass...," then he was out like a light.

Chuckling, Estrella pulled herself so that she could lean against the back of the upraised cot. She observed Sumner for a bit before glancing back to the nurse. The boy was indeed a mess; his nose was not where it should be, his face and robes crusted brown. The condition of her currently sleeping friend made the Head Girl feel rather horrible. She considered him a friend; it was peculiar how such situations brought people together. Fighting to keep from laughing, she started to explain to the nurse what had happened.

"I, uh, hit him in the face. With a beater's bat." After a few moments of hesitation she added, "Not on purpose of course. We were hitting around a bludger and he was trying to teach me how to swing the right way." She winced as she thought, That sounds bad. Estrella continued, "And I got hit with the bludger, in the shoulder. It hurts pretty badly." She moved her shoulder and grit her teeth just to show the nurse how much it hurt. Hopefully she would act quickly.

Seeing as Sumner was not the coherent one, he was tended to first. It was a wonder how quickly the woman fixed up the boy's injury. Resetting his nose, she used a spell to heal it completely. She worked silently, cleaning the blood from his face and his robes. Estrella let out a yelp as the nurse turned on her and brought a hand to her shoulder, digging fingers into her skin. The Ravenclaw wondered if this was payback for Sumner screaming bloody murder. She was told to stay still, and in moments the woman had healed the injury.

Whatever had been wrong with her shoulder was unknown to Estrella as the nurse brought Sumner back around. She left and returned with two goblets of potion to alleviate the pain. The nurse encouraged both of them to rest, but said they were free to leave if they so wished. With this she returned to her office. Estrella grimaced as she caught a whiff of the concoction, incredibly reluctant to drink it.

Sumner woke to find he could breath properly again, the metallic taste was gone from his mouth and there was no longer a gallon of blood staining his face or clothes. "Huh," he coughed, his mouth dry. He muttered a thank you to the nurse and tossed back the potion. It tasted vile. He set the cup aside and sat up, swinging his legs to the side of the cot, feet on the floor.

"You okay?" he tested, seeing that the pained, pinched look had left Estrella's face.

Her features scrunched up in disgust, Estrella decided to get the worst part done and over with. She pinched her nostrils together and brought the cup to her lips. With a good amount of gagging she managed to get the liquid down. The taste lingered on her tongue and brought about the struggle not to throw up her insides. Nodding to Sumner, she commented dryly, "You know, you'd think magical folk would have invented flavoring for medicines so they don't taste like puke in a bottle."

"Then the medical field couldn't get their kicks from our reactions," Sumner smirked. "Damn I'm hungry. Want to go to the hall?" Sumner's stomach rumbled loudly. He hadn't really eaten that morning and could eat a thestral. If someone had enough bbq sauce to go with it.

Estrella snickered a bit as she murmured, "No wonder the nurses are sadists." She nodded and rose from the cot. The Ravenclaw had too much energy to rest. Stretching her arms over her head, she grinned and responded, "I'm pretty much up for anything. Sure you don't want to go back and hit some bludgers around?"

"Uh not right now," he grinned, holding his now unbroken nose. "Let me fuel up and then we'll go at it again. After a few more practices...from opposite sides of the pitch," he laughed.
