🌹 Rose Giving Blossoms Below

Connor didn't know the next person on his list either, and wondered when he had gotten to a point where most of the students younger than sixth year were strangers. Time passed faster than he liked these days. He had plenty of time to ponder as he waited outside the Slytherin common room, having asked a passing first year to go fetch Ares for him from inside.

Ares had never really celebrated Valentine's Day, but that was because he never had anyone to celebrate it with. When he heard about the rose tradition at Hogwarts, it took him a while, but eventually he convinced himself to send one to Jordie. He was kicking himself however when he realised friend roses were also a thing, hoping that Jordie wouldn't put two and two together and know that the anonymous rose was from him when all of Jordie's other friends were sending one with their name on it. It was definitely giving him a headache and Ares tried his best not to overthink it too much. The teen sat in the common room for most of the day, avoiding Jordie to the best of his ability. As a first year came in and shouted out his name, he was a little taken aback. He hoped that the Hufflepuff the first year was talking about wasn't Jordie as he stood up with shaky legs and made his way out to the corridor. When he realised it was the Head Boy, he stopped in his tracks. "Oh, hey. I'm Ares." he said a little awkwardly, wondering what this was about.

Connor was relieved that the person he had asked was able to find Ares quickly, giving the younger boy a cheerful smile. "I've got a rose delivery for you." He explained, reaching into his basket and withdrawing the bright yellow rose and its attached note. "Happy Valentines Day!" He smiled, handing them over.

Ares was glad that the Head Boy went straight to the point. He could deal with taking a rose and quickly heading back inside. "Thanks." Ares said as he took it. He read the note, happy that it was from his first ever friend at Hogwarts. He really liked Valeria, and it was nice that she seemed to like him too. "Appreciate it." Ares nodded towards the boy and smiled at him slightly, feeling a bit better now that he had received his first yellow rose.

Connor was glad the rose was well-recieved, pleased to be spreading joy today. "No worries! Enjoy the rest of your day!" He said brightly, giving the Slytherin a cheerful wave before heading off to make his next delivery.
