History: Blanche was born in England but raised in New Zealand, to Phillip Broomhead and Edith Sedgewick. The Broomhead family is notable for having once been renowned broom manufacturers, whose reputation was permanently destroyed after an incident in 1869, where a team of all Broomhead brooms malfunctioned and flew out of the pitch during the World Cup, forfeiting the match. Since then the Broomheads have kept their heads down, viewing the incident as a source of great same. As a result, Blanche had a very low-key upbringing in Bluff, far from the family history. The twins were born in England on a visit to see family, but other than that she has spent her life in relative isolation in New Zealand, homeschooled by her mother alongside her older twin brother Silas. She grew up almost never separated from her brother, who she viewed as the other half of herself. Unfortunately, due to the different in their birthdays, Silas wound up being accepted to Hogwarts a year before Blanche, an experience she found traumatising as she had to learn to fend for herself for the first time.
