(This is open to you if you would consider Taylor a friend)
Taylor looked over at the lake, a sad smile on her face. Christmas had come and gone, and now the truth had hit Taylor like a brick. Five generations of her family had been in Ravenclaw. Every person on her parent's side were in Ravenclaw. The Bells' were different, houses didn't matter to them. But, the Marinos were different. Blue and bronze for over a hundred years, it was heartbreaking to be anywhere else.
Tears stung the girl's eyes as she thought of the letter she had received a day earlier. 'Taylor Marino, you have ruined us. Red and gold, it's against everything. Knowledge over bravery. Your parents may overlook it, but a Gryffindor will never fit in. Gabriella, Maxwell and Rebecca got into a suitable house, but you are truly a dissapointment Black Sheep. Never show your face back here.' The letter hadn't been signed, but it didn't matter. The words stung.
Her brown hair blew around her face, whipping her with the red and gold beads that were braided in there. Two small plaits with red and gold beads slapped her over and over, Taylor didn't even attempt to put them behind her ears. The black sheep. Taylor was different, she didn't care for learning, she wanted adventure. Nobody at Hogwarts, not even the Bells' knew about her family.
Taylor brushed the sleeve of her robes over her eyes, trying to get the tears to stop. But the tears kept flowing, and Taylor felt overwhelmed. She was alone, and the Marinos' were many. A sense of helplessness flooded through her, and she buried her face in her arms. She couldn't ever go home, and she couldn't stay at the Ramblings forever. Hogwarts was a safe haven for her, as long as she ignored all the heteful letters from her Ravenclaw family.
