Taylor looked over at the lake, a sad smile on her face. Christmas had come and gone, and now the truth had hit Taylor like a brick. Five generations of her family had been in Ravenclaw. Every person on her parent's side were in Ravenclaw. The Bells' were different, houses didn't matter to them. But, the Marinos were different. Blue and bronze for over a hundred years, it was heartbreaking to be anywhere else.

Tears stung the girl's eyes as she thought of the letter she had received a day earlier. 'Taylor Marino, you have ruined us. Red and gold, it's against everything. Knowledge over bravery. Your parents may overlook it, but a Gryffindor will never fit in. Gabriella, Maxwell and Rebecca got into a suitable house, but you are truly a dissapointment Black Sheep. Never show your face back here.' The letter hadn't been signed, but it didn't matter. The words stung.

Her brown hair blew around her face, whipping her with the red and gold beads that were braided in there. Two small plaits with red and gold beads slapped her over and over, Taylor didn't even attempt to put them behind her ears. The black sheep. Taylor was different, she didn't care for learning, she wanted adventure. Nobody at Hogwarts, not even the Bells' knew about her family.

Taylor brushed the sleeve of her robes over her eyes, trying to get the tears to stop. But the tears kept flowing, and Taylor felt overwhelmed. She was alone, and the Marinos' were many. A sense of helplessness flooded through her, and she buried her face in her arms. She couldn't ever go home, and she couldn't stay at the Ramblings forever. Hogwarts was a safe haven for her, as long as she ignored all the heteful letters from her Ravenclaw family.

After a very boring Summer, Vivienne was glad to finally be back at Hogwarts. Sure, she loved home; and sure, she loved the fact that she got to travel all over the world, whereever and whenever she wanted.. But at the end of the day, this was Vivienne's home. This was where all of her friends were, and they really were important to her. After unpacking her things back into the overly stuffed closet, Vivienne decided to go for a walk.

Throwing on a jacket (it was windy up on the cliffs), she left her dorm and made her way through the school. With a bright smile on her face, Vivienne skipped happily towards the track, the one that lead you out to the cliffs. Her smile widened as the ocean came into view, it really was a spectacular sight up here. If only there was omeone around to talk to..

Noticing a familiar girl not far away, Vivienne strained her eyes to see who it was. On second glance, it turned out to be Taylor Marino, one of her Gryffindor friends. "Hey Taylor!" the small girl yelled, trotting over to her taller friend. "Whatchu do-" she began, putting a hand on Taylor's shoulder. Vivienne was a very touchy-feely person, always giving out hugs and such, so while others may have just said hello from afar, she would be the one throwing arms around shoulders and things like that.

Stepping around to finally face Taylor, Vivienne began to smile up at her. That is, until she noticed the shininess on her friends' face. It was tears.. She'd been crying. "Oh.. Taylor.." she said with a sympathetic voice, her smile quickly fading. "What's wrong, hun?"

Taylor heard a noise, but dismissed it as her mind playing tricks on her. The wind was strong today, but that was okay with Taylor. She had come to the cliffs, because she knew not many people came up here. It was hard to get up the cliffs, so it wasn't the preferred spot for most.

She tensed as she felt a hand on her shoulder. Taylor lifted her head and saw Vivienne. She managed a small smile, but any idiot could see that she didn't feel like smiling. "Hey Viv. Its... Just family stuff." Taylor wanted to tell Vivienne all about it, but she wasn't sure if she could. Friendship wasn't a thing Taylor was used to, before Hogwarts she hadn't had many close friends. Becca and Bee had been her best friends, her younger sisters.

Taylor had lots of friends, but they were always just people who were nice to her, sometimes, and would listen to her, sometimes. Trust wasn't something Taylor gave out too much.
