Silus hadn't ever spent much time in here he realized as he walked through the doorway to the school's extensive library. He breathed in the unique scent of old tomes in the room, but didn't recall many memories of studying here. He'd come a few times to read up on Herbology in his younger years at the school, but that was a long time ago, and the memory that stood out the most to him here was when he'd slugged a certain student in his obnoxious face. It almost made him smile, but so much had changed since then that he simply gave an empty sigh.

Well, he was here, so he might as well grab a book, not having anything better to do at the moment. He was currently in the cycle of visiting places he hadn't been to in his previous years, like the owlery, and places that he'd rarely ever gone to. It was something he did in his spare time at the school as he was currently in his final year. Eyes scanning the shelves for something worthy of his attention, his fingers eventually found a book on venemous plants, and he pulled it from its place and cracked it open. It obviously wasn't a popular read, as the spine greeted him with a sad crack and a dust cloud rose up in his face, causing the Ravenclaw to cough.

Several minutes later he still stood in the same place, his mind wrapped up in the pages he was reading. When someone spoke up right behind him, he barely registered the sound.

Kira wondered into the library, her usual stack of books in her arms. She dropped them off at the front desk, smiling at the librarian before beginning her rounds. She had been reading more into magical sicknesses lately, and cures. She had also been looking into more plants and herbology and such, finding that it was all just so much more fascinating than she had originally expected.

She gathered various books that caught her interest as she went through the shelves, before noticing an older student just down the aisle from her that seemed rather interested in a dusty old tome about poisonous plants. She vaguely recognized him, and she assumed that meant he was an older Ravenclaw. She tucked her bangs behind her ear, holding her three books to her chest.

"Herbology really is rather fascinating, isn't it?"

Silus suppressed a sigh at the young sounding voice coming from behind him. "It is." He replied dismissively, his gaze still fixed on the book's pages even though the Ravenclaw had stopped reading at the interruption. Standing there, he did wonder why she'd chose to speak to him -- the majority of younger students avoided him due to his reputation for rudeness. Perhaps it was a first year, and Silus decided that was the case from her voice before trying to sink back into words in his face.

Kira smiled. At least the older boy responded. Unfortunately for him, though, she wasn't fazed by rude people. She scanned the shelves until finding what she was looking for- the book on medicinal plants that accompanied the one he was holding. It had been improperly placed a few shelves down.

She held it up to the upperclassmen, a smile on her face. "You might like this one, as well." Her blue eyes sparkled. She enjoyed nothing more than sharing knowledge, even if it wasn't hers.

Silus forcefully clapped the thick old tome shut, an annoyed expression resting on his pale face as he turned to see whoever was pestering him so. His harsh gaze fell down to meet a very young, bright-faced girl holding a book up to him. By the look of the cover and title it seemed to pair with the one he currently held in his hand, and he eyed the girl suspiciously. "Don't you have friends your age?" He asked, though Silus' voice wasn't biting. It was genuinely puzzling to him why she'd approached him like this.

Kira was unfazed by the older boys rough demeanor. She smiled up at him sweetly, her expression friendly. "I'm not good at talking to people, but I do know a few kids that I talk to sometimes. That doesn't mean I can't talk to you though." She told him, before looking down the aisle.

"If you're really interested in Herbology I know some good books that were a bit over my head, but you might like them."

Silus gave a half-smirk at her reply, it was a fair point she made. Tucking the books under his arm, he leaned back against the stack behind him, staring at the young student with a little more interest. She didn't look dumb, he admitted to himself, and at her next statement he figured she was in his house.

He'd not met many people, even in Ravenclaw itself, who seemed to be so eager for knowing and learning things, and it almost made him smile. Silus wished he'd been like that when he was her age. Maybe he wouldn't be in the rut he was.

"What are they on? I may have already read them." He replied, deciding on humoring her. His last statement was probable, as in his younger years he truly had read almost every book on Herbology he could get his hands on.

Kira smiled up at the older student before going down the aisle a bit. She climbed up onto the bottom shelf and reached, barely able to grasp the book she wanted. Once she had it she hopped down and brought it back to the older boy almost like an offering. It was a detailed manuscript on herbology throughout the ages. It gave a detailed account of what was available at the time and what the uses of each plant had been, where they could be found, etc. etc.
