After the initial homesickness had passed, Alice liked being back at school. She missed her parents a little bit, but she did enjoy having new classes and seeing her friends and classmates again. Emily was always fun to hang out with, as was Avaria. Alice had decided she would try to make a few more friends, both in her own house and outside it. She had already talked more to one of her roommates when they'd just returned, and she tried her best to be friendly to everyone else she met.
Alice had headed to the library for a book on potions, a new subject she was very curious about. She had taken some parchment with her so she could also write a letter while she was there, as it was easier to focus on things like that in the library. The girl wanted to write her mother a letter to wish her good luck on the next debate. She knew it was soon, as she had heard her mother practice and go over the things she would say in the debate over the holidays. Hopefully it would go well! She found a few books on potions that looked interesting and looked around for a place to sit. Nearby, she noticed a girl she recognized as a fellow first year. Alice made her way over and smiled. "Hi! Can I sit here?" She asked the girl, gesturing to the empty seat at her table. Alice saw no reason why she wouldn't be allowed, but decided to ask just in case.
