Style: Benson usually receives many clothes from his brother, a lot of them are worn and tatty. But this never really bothers him. This was how he grew up, its just how things are with him. Benson is usually seen wearing casual t-shirts and jeans. He hates anything fancy and anything that is uncomfortable. He really only wears something that he feels comfortable in. He can also be found wearing sports jersey's both of muggle sports and quidditch.

Other Distinguishing Features: Benson has very pale skin that usually stands out against his flaming red hair. His nose is lightly touched with freckles, other than that his skin is very clear. Benson has very long legs and has the potential to be very tall. At the moment he is quite gangly but as he grows older he will begin to fit into his body. Benson has one overlapping tooth on his bottom set of teeth. This is rarely noticed as it is just a small overlap. Another feature that is quite distinguishing is his smiles. He only really has a couple of smiles. The one that is most shown is his 'awkward' smile, it is the one used when he is a little uncomfortable or doesn't know the person he is talking to. This smile looks very strained even when he tries to make it not. He has an excited smile, one that he usually wears when he plays soccer or when he truly is excited about something. He has an embarassed smile aswell, this is a very small one and is usually followed by his cheeks reddening. Then there is a smile that looks comfortable and natural and is only seen when he is with a friend or someone who he trusts. These are the main smiles that he has, it is rare that any other appear.

Personality:
Benson has quite a complicated personaility. Its not that he changes around certain people, its just complicated. He has a very fun side, where he is full of laughter and jokes and is really just 'up for the craic'. But then there is this other side to him, one where he is with people he doesn't know that well, he can become very awkward and say things that he doesn't mean. This happens a lot to Benson, especially around girls. He blurts things out without thinking and usually regrets things later. He has no understanding of the female species and doesn't try to understand them. The only girls he could ever really feel comfortable around are girls, who don't really take things seriously. Girls who aren't all worked up about their appearance or getting dirty. Benson loves playing sports, its his passion. He loves to play all kinds of sports, from basketball to soccer, to Gaelic football to Quidditch. Benson loves quidditch, he always had. He isn't fantastically good at Quidditch and sometimes just prefers to watch it. But if he felt more confident in his flying he would definitely try out for his house team.

Benson was brought up with a family who believes to be fair to all and to always have manners. So its just a natural instinct for Ben to have manners, even when someone else doesn't show it. Benson can sometimes even come off as rude but as stated before, he doesn't mean some things that he says. With his friends Benson is very comfortable and never really says anything stupid or awkward and if he does, his friends would understand because they have been very close for a long time. Benson likes to have only a few close friends, so when he finds those people, he will always look out for them and be loyal to them no matter what. Even if it does take time for Benson to trust someone, the friendship will be worth it in the end as they'll be friends for life.

Benson can also be quite stubborn and grumpy. He is not afraid to show it either. When he feels strongly about something he won't change his mind nor will he even consider anything else. He would probably get this trait off his mother as she has her fair share of stubborness at times. Benson can sometimes just have bad days where he is just plain grumpy and would snap at anyone, he doesn't really think about other people when he has these days and doesn't realize that he may in fact hurt someone by what he says.


History:

Benson grew up in quite a normal fashion. He was born and raised in Co. Galway, Ireland. He went to a muggle primary school that he didn't really like all that much. He wasn't the typical stereotype in a school. Yes, he was always choosen first for the teams but outside sports he was the weird gangly kid in the corner. Though it didn't bother him all that much, he didn't care that he didn't really get along with many students, if any. He was quite content with his life in Ireland. He had his family and his dog. Benson really looks up and admires his brother Seamus. They shared a room all their life so naturally, that made them very close despite the age difference. Seamus attended Hogwarts Scotland and excelled in most subjects, Benson knows that he will never be as smart as Seamus but he will still always look up to him as a role model, a brother and a friend.

Benson doesn't know when he ever first learned about magic, it just seemed to be present throughout his life. His parents and his brother were wizards so it was just natural in his family. He couldn't exactly pinpoint the moment when he first expierienced a 'magical' sign. But there was a time when his brother had left his wand on the bedside locker and Benson gave a few waves at it. Nothing really happened at first but when he continued to flick it around the place and shout out random words a few sparks shot from the wand and hit up against the curtains setting them alight. Benson was grounded for a month after that but he was just glad that there was some magical effect, from that moment he knew he was going to be a wizard.

Rita Amanda Thacker
Rita is Bensons mother and someone who he spends a lot of time with. His father and brother both work during the day so he can't really avoid her. Although sometimes they don't get on [due to the pairs stubborness] there is a strong bond between them. Something that would never be broken by a small fight. They both care deeply for each other, even if they mightn't show it all the time. Rita is a very warm hearted person who is extremely caring.

Martin Graham Thacker
Martin is Benson's father. They may not always see a lot of each other but they still get along perfectly. Benson rarely ever argues with his father because of the fact that they don't see each other often enough. Martin works as a finicial advisor in both Ireland and New Zealand. But he was offered a higher paying job in New Zealand and so that was one of the reasons they moved. Martin is very much head of the family and the whole Thacker family has a lot of respect towards him. Martin is a fun-spirted man even if he does have quite a boring job.

Seamus Martin Thacker
Seamus is Bensons brother. Seamus is a lot like a mentor for Benson even though there is an age difference there they are very close. He doesn't have a problem hanging out with his brother and loves to play sports with him. Seamus was a Ravenclaw in Hogwarts Scotland and excelled in a lot of subjects. He always wanted to be a healer so when his father was offered a job in New Zealand, Seamus decided to apply as a Healer in St. Mungos. He soon got word that his application was accepted and so there was not really a lot of question to it, they were moving to New Zealand. Seamus is a very clever, very kind and very patient man.
