It was the end of Halloween. November was upon them now and even though Maya had greatly enjoyed the Halloween festivities, she had to admit that she was glad it was all over. The fake long hair she had nearly killed her. It was so long and heavy she had the worst headache ever the night after and had gone to the hospital wing for relief. Of course she did not need anything now, she was fine, but she had never been to the hospital wing before, it had been weird, she was not used to seeing magic and potions like that and whilst it had been all rather exciting, enough was enough she would say. Smiling to herself at the prospect of a good day, Maya walked out of the common room. She had no particular direction she wanted to go, but she would go somewhere, that was for sure. It was a weekend again and that meant that Maya was going exploring. She had made sure to catch up on the majority of her homework, so she would be okay for a couple of hours, just to go where ever. Last time she had discovered a lovely little nook up in the North Tower and she would go there again if ever she needed peace and quiet, but honestly, Maya wasn't the peace and quiet kind of person. She was used to noise, because her house was very noisy. She was also really looking forward to seeing her family again, she had really missed them whilst she was away. Especially Corey, he was a little trickster honestly and while she didn't miss his tricks, at all, she certainly missed him and the fact that he would always manage to make her laugh. That was an important quality to have.

Walking along the corridors, Maya didn't really have a specific place she wanted to go, she figured she would just walk around and end up where ever she ended up. Of course, who knew what would happen with those silly staircases that moved all the time. The first time she had seen those was resolutely strange. Being from a non-magical background, moving staircases was definitely not something she was used too. Even now she often still got lost when they would take her to the sixth floor when she wanted to go to the third, or so forth. It was so silly and it was weird to boot. Maya looked around and noted that she appeared to be on the ground floor, which was a little strange considering she had also gone up some stairs at some point so one would think she would be on the fifth or sixth floor. She shrugged, it wasn't a bug deal, she had no classes today and could afford to get lost. Not that she wanted to get lost or anything, but it was always a distinct possibility in this castle. One of the disadvantages of being new to magic she suspected. Oh well, she would undoubtedly get used to it eventually, she was sure. Maya continued to walk along the corridor and eventually, she came to a stop at the doors that lead to the courtyard. Well, why not? Maya walked through the doors and into the courtyard outside. It was a wonderful place, this school, beautiful open areas such as this were common and she fond that the grounds were quite open and accessible easily for all students. She was going to join her education at this school. Smiling, Maya took a seat on one of the stone seats and looked out over the grounds. Spotting a Rose bush, Maya grinned, it was November, she was a little surprised to see it, but it was the most beautiful Rose. Leaning down to smell it, Maya was rewarded with a most delightful smell.
