Band Audition

[Zak Swan]

Zachary sat in his apartment with his brother, Brogan. They where waiting for a young girl to come and audition for their band. It wasnt much of a band yet, with just two members. But hopefully, when they found a singer, they could work on getting a bassist, and another guitarist. Zak would be playing the guitar, and Brogan drums.

They were talking about what kind of things they would be looking for in a singer, when there was a knock at the door.

 

[Steph Shirley]

Steph was nervous, she had come to New Zealand for the weekend to audition for a band. She had seen the flyers on her last visit to New Zealand.

She thought of Detrick as she walked to the place she had been told to go to. He'd be so pleased for her if she got this.
As walked up to an apartment, she smiled as she remembered the day she had spent with Detrick not long ago, how happy she had been. Steph couldnt deny it, she missed him terribly, and she had only been away for a short time.

Knocking on the door, butterflies appeared in her stomach. What if they didnt want her? What if she was too young? What if she wasnt good enough? She chewed her lip as she waited.

 

[Zak Swan]

Zak opened the door, a smile on his face.

The girl looking back at him didnt look as young as he had expected. Her appearence fitted the band exactly.

"Hey, Im Zak. You must be Steph?" He said to her, opening the door wider as to let her in. "This is my brother, Brogan." He pointed to Brogan, who was sitting on the couch, keeping quiet.

Steph smiled, "Yeah, Im Steph, nice to meet you." She said, walking into his apartment and smiling at Brogan.

She looked at Zak, and then to Brogan, wondering what she had to do.

 

[Brogan Swan]

Brogan stayed sitting with his head down, he knew he was coming across as shy to Steph, but he didnt really care. He wanted to make sure they had a singer before he allowed himself to open up to the band.

He smiled at Steph as she walked in, she had bright orange hair and seemed a nice girl. He hoped she would be the one to make the band.


Brogan looked at Zak, telling him that he wanted him to do the talking, and Brogan wouldnt get involved at all. Putting his head down, his thoughts on the song he had written two days ago.

Zak rolled his eyes at his brother, he had expected him to help with the audition.

"Sit down," He smiled at Steph, sitting next to his brother and pointing to a chair. "So Steph, in your owl you said you loved singing, is there anything else your interested in?"

 

[Steph Shirley]

Steph sat in the chair Zak pointed to. "Urm, yeah. I play guitar, and keyboard." She told him.

"Do you want me to sing for you?" She asked, looking around the apartment, she noticed several guitars, a drum kit, and a keyboard.

 

[Zak Swan]

"Yes please," Zak said, smiling. He noticed her looking at his guitar collection, drum kit and keyboard. "Do you want to use a guitar or the keyboard? Your welcome to."

 

[Steph Shirley]

Steph grinned, "Yeah, if you dont mind." She stood up and picked up an acoustic guitar. She sat back down in the chair. And cleared her throat.

Steph started to sing one of her own songs, When It Rains. When she had finished, she looked up at Zak, and smiled hopefully.

 

[Brogan Swan]

As soon as Steph started to sing, Brogan lifted his head up, this girl was amazing. He watched her, she played perfectly, her voice never falling.

"Zak," He turned to his brother, "Its her, we have to have her!" He said, speaking for the first time.

Zak watched Steph, she was amazing. When she had finished there was a short silence, until his brother piped up, telling him they had to have her.
He turned to Brogan, a grin on his face. Before he turned to Steph.
"Girl your amazing, your in!" He announced, she really was.

Stephs grin widened, "Oh my god?! Really?!" Excitement flowed through her body, she couldnt wait to tell Detrick.
