October Alcott was a person Nixon recognized from the Ravenclaw quidditch team, but he of course did not know much else about her. So at a loss of where else he could find the girl he headed down to the Ravenclaw table in the great hall for the second time that day, hoping that because she was in Ravenclaw he would eventually find her there. Standing at the front of the table, Nixon called out "October Alcott!! I have a rose for you!" hoping this would capture her attention if she was nearby. If she wasn't at the table and elsewhere in the castle he assumed someone would soon point him in the right direction so he could leave, and let the people that were having their meals interrupted continue their eating in peace.

As much as October always enjoyed exchanging roses with her friends, it was difficult to suppress an additional level of excitement this year. She didn't know what to expect in return, but after the Yule Ball she had decided to be daring, and send Tristan a pink rose. She hadn't gotten anything from him yet, and was still holding out hope that the gesture would be reciprocated. She was paying more attention than usual to the noise around her at the table, so when someone called out her name October perked up at once, looking up at the rose deliverer hopefully. "I'm October!" She said quickly, popping out of her seat, hoping against hope that just maybe this would be the rose she had been hoping for.

Nixon soon spotted October pop out of her seat and smiled as he headed over to her. When he reached her, he looked to his basket to pick up the pink rose he was meant to deliver, keeping he note attached with the flower as he held it forward. "This is your rose. Looks like its from someone special." He said, noting the colour of it was pink which meant crushes and admiration. Nixon was yet to receive a pink rose of his own that year, but he didn't expect he would and was pleased to give them to others instead, liking that people showing their feelings for each other in the form of roses was part of the valentine's day experience at hogwarts.

October,

I can't wait to see you tonight at the dance. I'm sure you'll look amazing.

Tristan

October felt almost as though the sight of the boy withdrawing a pink rose from his basket was moving in slow motion. It felt almost too exciting to be real. A larger part of her than she wanted to admit had been nervous that she wouldn't get a pink rose in return from Tristan, and it was thrilling to know that they were really on the same page in all of this. Grinning brightly, October took a moment to smell the rose before opening the message, her smile only broadening as she read it. She felt like the star of a romance movie, being swept off her feet when she least expected it. October was almost too preoccupied by her rose to remember to thank the boy who had delivered it, eventually looking up at him with slight embarrassment. "Oh! Thank you!" She added quickly, giving the boy a quick smile before making her way back to her seat, smelling her rose again as she went. If this was any indicator, tonight was going to be a fairytale.
