Avery grew up with an inquisitive mind and a stubborn sense of justice. From a young age he loved to read especially non-fiction and history books. Since he was home schooled there was flexibility in what he learned and he started to excel with his writing and would constantly be scribbling down observations or thoughts he would have. Since he read so much he developed a feeling of superiority over people who weren't as educated as he was and had a tendency to pick philosophical arguments knowing he'd win. After his parents died his sense of justice turned into a need for revenge against what he believes caused their death, the government.

B A C K G R O U N D
Avery was born in Auckland to a small but loving family. His father Samuel had lost his own parents rather young and had no extended family to speak off. His mother, Faye on the other hand, had a small but tight knit family of her own. They met on their first day of Auror training and were inseparable from then on. They got married rather quickly and started their family right away. Avery was doted on by his family and could be considered spoiled. He was less than thrilled when his parents decided to have another child when he was already ten years old. But the moment he met his baby sister, Margo, he was smitten with her.
His parents were rather successful as Aurors and rose through the ranks quickly and provided a very comfortable lifestyle for him and his sister. Avery was homeschooled by tutors instead of going to Hogwarts which allowed them to spend more time together as a family. But tragedy struck when Avery was sixteen years old and his parents were tragically killed while on duty. After that they were sent to live with their grandmother in a small town which was a major culture shock after living in the city his whole life. Avery took the loss especially hard and never could settle in to the quiet life. He turned his grief into anger at the Ministry, the people who ordered his parents to be out the night the were killed. Eventually his anger became too much and he couldn't just stay idle around his family who were mourning in their own way.
On his own Avery bounced around form part time job to part time job to support himself while he tried to figure out how to best fight for his cause. He feels like he's just been biding his time and wants to use his skills as a writer to inspire the masses to open their eyes to the corruption in the Ministry and make some real change.
