August 5th It's my birthday today. Mum basically told me she would rather I not come home after school this year. Dad's on the fence but he listens to mum, so I don't think he's going to be on my side much. It's hard, but, I guess I expected this. They'll never really cancel me out of the family, because then they'd have to explain why to my Grand, but, yeah, I guess that's that then. Kind of saw it coming but was hoping things would be a little bit different. January is upset, but March and June probably won't notice, since they're in school too - or will be next year in March's case. They never liked me anyway. January is my best friend though, my biggest supporter. Maybe I can convince her to come to New Zealand with me. That's where I want to go - get as far away from my parents as I can. Thought about going to Europe, maybe UK, but I got family there too - that's where my Grand on mum's side is after all. Don't want to give them a reason you know. We all remember what happened when my Aunt disappeared. Still. Wish it had been different. Shame. August ♥

August was named for the month he was born, because neither of his parents are very creative. It's a rather ironic situation as well, because his middle name is for his father Benjamin, which also means "favoured son" of which August very much no longer is, and hasn't been for some time. August has significant meanings and connotations. Derived from the Latin name "Augustus," it means "great" or "venerable" and was famously used as a title for Roman emperors, lending the name an air of dignity and grandeur.

Augie, Chase, Augs, Gus. He's not a big fan of most of them because they are usually used to torment and tease him. He doesn't mind Augie so much because he considers it cute, but can tell the difference between someone wanting it to be cute and someone wanting to try and upset him. His mother calls him August exclusively, whilst his father and siblings have been known to call him Gus.


Legal Name Changes
August once considered changing his name from August to Benjamin, and then also changing it to something completely unrelated to his family, or his birth, but honestly, he actually does really like his name, and he doesn't want to change it if he doesn't have to.

American - he's looking at getting a dual citizenship to New Zealand to secure himself better.

August is a Pure Blood as both his mother and his father are Pure Bloods. He doesn't really care about blood status, especially given other aspects of himself, but he does sometimes catch himself falling into thinking about stereotypes and had to actively rethink about them.
