Irene Finch had specifically asked for the tables to be left in place for the exam. If the sixth years were going to be licensed apparitioners, then they would need to possess the ability to work around their surroundings. Apparating across an empty room was convenient, but the chances of apparating to a truly empty space were going to be slim to none in the real world. There'd be tree filled forests, garbage strewn alleys, and perhaps the occasional field or valley. This would be an especially important test for those students who were interested in Ministry positions as apparating was a requirement for most positions.

Heading to the doors of the Great Hall, Irene stepped out to greet the students who were waiting just outside. The students were seated on the benches that had been provided to await their turn. "Good afternoon" she greeted, her icy blue eyes taking them in one by one. "In a moment, I'll begin calling you in alphabetically by your last name. Once I do, I'll ask you to apparate to a spot in the room. You will only get one shot. I will not pass you if even a hair remains where you once stood." Irene pursed her lips, her expression showing the gravity of this exam. She wanted that fact to be clear because she hated the annoying begging for another chance that came when a student failed. She looked at their faces, wondering which ones she would be seeing in the courses that were provided by the Ministry throughout the year. Her eyes strayed to her niece for a brief moment. Many people failed the exam on their first try, but the woman did nothing to reassure the students of this fact.

Stepping back into the room, where her clipboard was already magicked to take notes, Irene glanced at the list and then called the first student forward. Once the student was inside, Irene shut the door tightly and began the exam.

Roleplay your character's attempt to apparate to a point in the room. Don't forget that there are tables and chairs around as well.

You will get a A or T depending on whether you roleplay your character succeeding or failing. Extra credit will be given for the level of detail in your roleplay regardless of passing or failing. Feel free to godmod if it is necessary to your roleplay. If you have any questions, PM me. No replies will be accepted beyond Wednesday, March 1.Apparition,6,7

Lydia was nervous, even more nervous about this exam than she had ever been about exams ever. There was a huge importance with this exam because of what it might mean for her future. The teen wanted nothing more than to pass it and be done. She wanted to be able to travel freely and it would open so many doors to her. Lydia stood outside the hall waiting with the rest of the people who were able to take this exam and she was waiting nervously, wringing her hands and continuously running a hand through her light hair. She eventually got called to the hall, and Lydia stepped inside the room. She was nervous, so nervous but Lydia had managed it twice before so there was no reason why she wouldn't manage it now other than it would be hard, and the only thing that was really different in this was that there were far more obstacles.

Lydia stood at the centre of the room where she was instructed to and listened to the teacher's instructions upon what they were supposed to do. She nodded and looked the location where she was suppose to end up. Lydia took a deep breath, mapping out everything that was in her path, everything that she could see that could be a hinderance to where she needed to end up. Eventually the teen decided she had done enough mapping and began to concentrate upon getting across, she imagined where she wanted to end up, filled her mind with only that. She felt the tug that meant she was doing something right, and allowed herself to fall into it. And soon she felt the sensation stop, which caused the teens eyes to fly open and noted that she had managed it. The teen was pretty damn proud and she didn't appear to have lost anything and had been successful.

Desislav sighed as he heard that they'd be called in alphabetically. It meant that he would have to sit here with his nerves, waiting for what was clearly the most important moment of his life to date. Passing this exam meant a type of freedom that the teenager had craved for ages. As his classmates disappeared one by one into the room, the teenager kept up his deep breathing. It wasn't doing much, but it was something to do.

Finally, Desislav was called forward. He stood up slowly, wiping his sweaty palms on the leg of his jeans as he stepped into the room. The Ministry woman gave him a spot to apparate to. Of course, it was clear across the room, farther than he'd apparated during the last lesson. The teen had his destination. "Any chance I could get another spot?" he joked, the chuckle dying as he saw the lack of amusement on the woman's face. "Tough crowd" he muttered as he focused on the spot he'd been given. On an inhale, Desi did a little spin and felt the familiar tug. He kept focusing on that damned spot near the far wall and opened his eyes, the wall right in front of his face. "YES!" he hopped into the air, pumping his fist as he knew that every piece of him had traveled along. He just knew it...until he felt the breeze on his back. Spinning around, he felt it even more. As he craned his neck to see, he realized he didn't have to. The Ministry official was holding out her hand- a large piece of red cotton t-shirt in her hand. He felt like covering his ears as he saw the word forming on her lips. "Fail" she declared. Desi let loose an 'f' word as well though it wasn't that one.

Dropping his head, he gathered the piece of fabric and headed for the doors.

Alana stood slowly as she heard her name. She stepped through the doors of the Great Hall, and they shut with a thud behind her. The teen could already feel the bile in her throat, the unwelcome burning coming as she looked at her destination. It wasn't far at all, atop the table that was just beside her. She could do this.

Turning to face her destination, Alana took a deep breath and then another. Focusing on the spot, Alana closed her eyes and hoped for the best as she felt the tug in her stomach. It was sharper this time, different from all of the times she'd side-along apparated. Opening her eyes, Alana bent over to take a few deep breaths. Her aunt's declaration that she'd passed barely registered as she stood up and broke into a run, hopping off the table and heading for the nearest bin. When she'd finished, she wiped at her mouth with her sleeve before stepping out of the room looking quite ill.
