Irene found it unfortunate that she could not meet with the sixth years every single week to prepare them for their apparation exam, but her schedule would not allow it. She was going to try and change that for the upcoming year, but for now she would have to deal it. With her arms crossed across her chest, the woman waited impatiently for the sixth years to enter. The room was already set up for them, so the quicker they entered the more time they would have to practice. Today would be the first day for them to actually practice so her hopes weren't too high. She'd learned to be cautiously optimistic with the students, however, as they often surprised her.

"Let's not waste any time" she began by way of greeting the students. The woman's blue eyes scanned the group before her before she reached inside her robes. Pulling out her wand from her robe, Irene gave it a small flourish and a wooden hoop appeared in front of each student. "Space yourselves out...there's plenty of room." There certainly was plenty of room since the Great Hall was meant to accommodate the entire school and she had only a small portion of the student body in front of her.

As she looked around at the student's faces, Irene's expression remained blank. She gave them no expression of hope or encouragement. It was up to them to work hard and create their own hope. Her blue eyes betrayed no emotion. "Alright. Don't forget the three D's that we discussed last week. Destination. Determination. Deliberation" she stated clearly. "And, if you feel as if you're suddenly being pulled through a tube, don't worry. It means you're doing something right." She looked around the room, wondering if any of them were familiar with the sensation from side-along apparition. She figured that those who had grown up in wizarding families were familiar with it. It was definitely something to get used to and any of the students who had never done it were in for a huge surprise.

"I'll be walking around in case any of you get splinched" Irene began, wondering how many of the students knew the term. She hoped that there wouldn't be a live example for the class to see. Irene knew that there was always one person who rushed and ended up leaving a portion of themselves behind. She looked around, wondering who that person would be today. "Not that I expect any of you to" she added hastily as she noticed a few horrified looks from the group, "but just in case. You'll have nothing to worry about if you concentrate."

Irene nodded her head and waited a moment to see if anyone would realize that it was time for them to begin. "Whenever you're ready" she added a beat later in a droll tone. She didn't expect them to do anything much for at least the first little while. Crossing her arms, Irene watched, wondering how long it would take before anything happened.

Rp the lesson. Have fun with it!
If you plan on splinching yourself, please PM me first ;) .

Isabella found herself not so ready to actually try to apparate. Isabella, one that showed hardly any fear, was actually scared. She could not beat that down no matter how much she tried, and she didn't even know why she was so scared. She just was. The Slytherin Prefect dressed casually with her Prefect badge to her chest, because it was a title that she loved having and she was not about to give it up for something so small. Isabella made her way to the Great Hall where her magenta eyes looked around to see that the room was set up for them to practice. Isabella isolated herself from the other sixth years, since it was not new to her. Isabella found herself looking down at the floor opposed to looking up at the Ministry official teaching them. Once the woman named Irene started to speak, her magenta eyes rested upon her for the second time in this special class for them. She watched as Irene waved a wand and a wooden hoop appeared before them onto the floor. While the great hall was huge, Isabella still did not want anyone around her space, and she did not want anyone to apparate near her by accident. It was not likely that they would, but she could not help but feel cautious. What Isabella admired was that Irene didn't seem to care if they passed or failed. It was an admirable quality.

It was not until Irene repeated the three D's that they had discussed last week that she was reminded. That was already a bad sign for her. Isabella's fear was close to overwhelming. However she put it behind her, burying it. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. One would think that would be easy enough to pull off but apparently not. Isabella listened to how it felt when she had done something right, and took a mental note of that. It was when they were reminded that they could get splinched did Isabella show some sort of fear then. She only let it last for a fraction. Isabella reminded herself that she could take her time and get on with it. Isabella was sure that when she managed to get it, she would not leave a portion of her behind. Isabella could see her destination, so that was one of the D words down. The next one was Determination. She could fill it grow within, and she wanted so much to get into that hoop. Now was the final one. She closed her eyes and she attempted to use the magic within. She thought that she felt a pull but she lost concentration. She did not move an inch. Isabella tried again, and this time she moved closer to the hoop. By the time it was time to leave, she had not made it to the hoop, but near it. It was better than nothing. Shrugging, she ended up leaving the classroom accordingly.

Ostensia smiled at her sister as she entered the Great Hall. She was glad her sister was here with her right now. After all she did think of Isabella as a guardian of some sorts. It used to be the other way around. But over time Ostensia developed a softness while her sister grew a boldness. It was another Apparation lesson today! Ostensia was excited because she felt like she was going to be able to do this pretty well! 'Then again I am pretty scared that I might accidentally splinch myself.' Apparently it had happened before. Ostensia honestly didn't want that to happen to her if she accidentally ended up messing up and doing the wrong thing. Then again who really did? Ostensia glanced at the woman named Irene and made sure to greet her as well. The Prefect wondered if teaching students how to Apparate was difficult or not. From what Ostensia had seen today, it was pretty straight-forward. Especially with the Three D's they learned the other day. Destination. Determination. Deliberation. Ostensia made sure to repeat them as much as possible while she had the chance. That way she would remember them more easily. Soon the woman teaching the class spoke and Ostensia knew she needed to pay attention. She watched carefully as Irene Finch waved a wand and a wooden hoop appeared before them onto the floor. Ostensia could only imagine what they were going to have to do with that. Everyone spaced themselves out like the woman said too. Ostensia hoped this hoop wasn't going to do anything strange. She was already worried enough about today. Then the realization hit her. They were going to be Apparate to the other side of the hoop. Well that certainly looked to be somewhat of a challenge. Ostensia had never Apparated before. Now she had to suddenly try. Was this lady crazy or something? Ostensia was so worried she was going to hurt herself or mess up.

'Destination. Determination. Deliberation.' Ostensia repeated the Three D's with the woman. She was ready she thought. The feeling of suddenly being pulled through a tube, didn't sound so comfortable to go through. But Ostensia did mentally note that the feeling was supposed to be a good thing. Ostensia mentally prepared herself. She was so worried that she was going to splinch herself. 'What if I lose an arm and have to become a one-armed witch! Oh my god I can't do this!' Ostensia wanted to cry. What if she messed up? Then a thought occurred to her. Damian would be so proud if he heard that she managed to do it. Ostensia was going to do this! She had to at least try! Ostensia had her destination in mind, the hoop. The other side of the hoop. Then it was determination. Ostensia was determined to get to the other side. The final was the most difficult. Ostensia closed her eyes and felt the pull that Irene spoke about. But when she opened her eyes, she was nowhere near the stupid hoop. "Dang it!" Ostensia stomped her little foot. Well that didn't work out. Ostensia re positioned herself and tried it again. This time she got closer to the hoop but still didn't land exactly where she wanted to be. When it was time to leave, Ostensia had gotten close. Very close. But no such luck yet. Perhaps she needed a little bit more practice. Next time though, she was going to get it!
