The weather was chill and very European. This, of course, was not the only difference between Hogwarts New Zealand and Durmstrang. The school was a different shape, entirely, the walls a different colour, the classes were different, the language was strange, and yet, as Larissa walked in through the corridors, a surprisingly short skirt for the climate, floating about just below her knees, a heavy, baggy jumper, hanging from her body, a pair of black heels on her feet, she had never felt more at home. The students in the entrance hall who had been heading outside, stopped and fell coldly silent. Larissa walked to a comfortable beat, pretending she had not seen the boys gawping, the eyes following her as she had passed. However, she couldn't help the dark smile upon her face, which she could finally let out and show of. And what a powerful smile it was.
Larissa paused for a moment, taking a deep, satisfied breath. She gave her platinum-blonde hair, a quick shake and flick, letting it fall partially on her shoulders. She had only just entered the school, but it was obvious to her how things worked, here. And, if Mark was anything to go by, the boys here were quite easy to deal with, too. Oh, yes, you always got the tough guys, the ones who thought they were better than anyone else, but they could easily be cracked with a little veela charm. It was the silent, studying type who were the most dangerous. Larissa was already setting herself some goals, mentally. Yes, these last couple of years she would be spending at Durmstrang, those would be the greatest of her youth.
Larissa stood in the girl's dormitory and thought, instantly, of Hoshi. She sighed as she began to unpack her things onto an empty bed: The rest of the school were down in the hall, having dinner. Larissa had been given some food to take to her room, so that she could be unpacked before the other girls turned up in a noisy horde. If there was one thing that Larissa was really going to miss about Hogwarts, it was Hoshi. Hoshi and Adira. She missed Quidditch, too, and a part of her missed being a prefect. But there were more pros than cons and, as she began to unpack, Larissa made a mental note to write to Hoshi. She was taking a few things out and organizing them. One particular item that Larissa picked up, sent a shudder down her spine. It was a shudder of sadness. This picture was of her, Adira and Hoshi. Should she pack it back away with her other photographs or should she keep it out on display? Larissa found herself almost showing the emotion within. She shoved the photograph back inside her case which she then closed, pushing it underneath the bed. She silenced her feelings and lay across her bed in an awkward fashion, so that she hung off wither side. It was only just dawning on her that she knew no-one here.. Well, she had met a couple of Durmstrangs during the Brightstone weekends, but she doubted that a brief 'hello, do you like Quidditch? And, what's your favourite colour?' really counted as knowing someone.
Larissa released one last sigh, shutting her eyes and holding her hands over her face, she could hear the distant rumblings of students standing up and walking to their dorm rooms. She sat up, quickly grabbing her diary from her bag and feigning writing in it. She braced herself for the incoming girls.
