Danielle walked confidently down the streets of Brightsone. The Village was half-asleep, as usual, but Danton was going shopping for some school supplies today, and she didn't wan to be around. He'd be full of Hayley this, and Hayley that. It was bad enough being related to her, she refused to spend time with her, and she didn't want to have to listen to a word more about her today. She raised her face to the sunshine, letting it flood into her face. She had discovered from her time in New Zealand that she loved good weather. Technically, she was supposed to be in England, but she'd been forcing the House-Elf to bring her here, more and more often. She loved England, but at the moment it was raining, heavily. Here it was all sunshine and daisies. She closed her eyes, and focussed on absorbing as much vitamin D s possible.
It was strange, this sudden distance with Danton. They had always been so close, they were twins, that was how it should be. It was all down to his friendship with Hayley. She was the reason she was losing her brother. Danton wouldn't be straying if it weren't for Hayley. It was none of her business anyway. Danton was none of her business. Why did she have to interfere in everything.
Her siblings didn't seem to care, not that they ever really worried about each other much. Danton and her were the exception. Dakota and Donovan had also been close, and Danielle herself got along well enough with Dorothy, but Devlin, he cared about no-one. No-one at all.
She sighed to herself as she thought this. Danton was right. They really shoud be at least feigning family unity, if they couldn't achieve it. He had always said that he wished their family were closer. It's what they would need in the future. Danielle knew exactly what type of future he meant. A Dark One. She was ready for that, she always had been.
