For Isaac, attending his very last Yule Ball ever was a strange affair. He felt as though he'd come a full circle throughout his education, from joining Hogwarts and seeming as though he was only there for some fun and a break from his family, through to actually caring a little about the people he attending with, and back to only wanting to go for the entertainment. The seventh year would have happily stayed in his common room if were not his last year, but since he needed to make the most of his final event at Christmas, he was suited and booted and standing at the entrance to the hall. It was never quite as nice as the one put on by Hogwarts, but at least Ilvermorny didn't give him unrealistic expectations.

The Pukwudgie didn't consider himself shy, so much as he didn't think most of the people here were worth his time. However time was what he had on his side that day, It didn't matter who he spoke to or what he did. He was going to be a free man in just a couple of months, so why shouldn't do whatever he wanted? He'd worked hard in the past for friendships that had never stayed, and now even when he tried to make friends, they just didn't get him. So instead, for the final time, he had put on a mask of his own, and he walked through the hall with faked confidence, and nothing left to lose. He was smiling perhaps a little too widely at the students he passed, looking for something that would amuse him.

Namine loved Yule, mostly for the pretty dresses. She had chosen her dress specifically for this occasion because she knew she looked amazing in it. Her friends had all said as much, though most of them had declined to actually attend tonight since Olivia was heartbroken over her boyfriend breaking up with her. Not that Namine cared much, given that boy infuriated her most of the time. Fixing her hair, she walked into the Great Hall and immediately fell in love with everything! Not that it didn't usually look amazing, since it usually did. She grinned and stepped further in, though she was slightly a little slow and noticed that she had stepped into someone's path. Sensing an opportunity, Nami smirked and quickly moved directly into his path. "Ow! What the actual h3ll!" She yelled, making sure everyone heard her. "What, you blind or something you big oaf, I'm only a little girl! Watch where you're going!" She yelled, glaring up at the taller boy. He was cute, but she didn't care, because he'd stepped on her shoe. "LOOK WHAT YOU DID!"

The seventh year had grown considerably in the last two years, and his long limbs made him over 6 foot, meaning he towered above the majority of the students. Isaac didn’t think though that anyone would call him an oaf, so when a younger girl began screaming at him, he turned to face the child with raised eyebrows, he hadn’t even done anything! She was the one who’d walked straight into him so any injury were her fault. He was aware that people in the room were likely to look over, but in the teens eyes this girl was clearly being over dramatic and everyone would know she was just trying to make herself look better. “Oh stop yelling! No one cares.” He took a step back from her and look her up and down, nothing was ruined at all so what was her problem? “It’s an improvement if you ask me,” he mumbled. This girl was clearly so high up on her peg of importance that it wouldn’t hurt to put her in her place a bit, and still with a wide smirk on his face he wondered how some people got it so easy. “Why don’t you just run along to your little friends. If you have any,” he added. He wouldn’t be surprised if this girl was a popular one in her year. All the students that sought attention seemed to ooze popularity and it wasn’t something the seventeen year old would ever understand.

Namine gasped in shocked horror as the boy tried to make more of a scene than she was already. What a horrible boy! She disliked him instantly for this if he didn’t even know how to take a joke, she didn’t want to know him. “You’re just jealous that I’m not attending the Yule Ball alone unlike you apparently,” she said, eyeing him definitely. She knew how to piss people off, it was one of her special talents. “I don’t need to run along to my little friends, I’m a secure and confident person and I let them do whatever they want since I’m not like the boss of them or anything”, she mused, folding her arms over her chest as a couple of other people stepped moving about to watch them in their battle. “You big, dumb older boys whine and complain about how hard it is to study, maybe that’s what you should be doing rather than waste your time arguing with a Spoiled brat who just wants to get a raise out of you,” which she noted was apparently working.

Isaac sighed to himself. Why did he usually seem to attract the weirdos in this school? “Obviously,” he said dryly. It wasn’t obvious she was with someone any more than it was obvious he wasn’t up for an argument about it. Who even was this girl? “That’s so kind of you. Well while you’re hanging out with one of those big dumb old boys instead of hanging out with your friends and your date, who apparently have better things to do than to see what the commotion here is all about, Im going to get a drink,” he smiled and turned her back on her, his face dropping back into one or annoyance as soon as she couldn’t see it. If she was going to be a brat about it he would happily just leave her to her own thoughts, clearly she had some issues anyway. He still didn’t care that he didn’t have his own friends to talk to about crazy girls like that, and we was determined to do something more interesting than just he shouted at by an attention seeking small fry.

Katy had always loved holidays, it was always the best part of the year in her opinion when she got to celebrate some at school. Doing her best to deck herself in red, including a silly santa hat she'd managed to get her hands on Katy happily scanned the hall looking for some friends to catch up with. Her stomach dropped when she spotted Isaac, frowning when it seemed like he was already arguing with another girl. He really hadn't been kidding about being bad at people.

"Isaac, wasting no time grinching it up, I see," She said happily, striding over to him. They hadn't really had a chance to talk since he'd kissed her and stormed off, but Katy wasn't about to let anything make her feel awkward. "I'm sure he's really very sorry deep down, right, Isaac? Just a big misunderstanding." She said insistently, leaning around Isaac to the girl behind him and giving her an apologetic look. Maybe they could smooth this over and Isaac would actually believe her when she kept saying there were people worth being friends with here.

Back at Hogwarts Scotland Robyn had had a difficult time making friends and she had felt quite unhappy. Even more so when her twin brother Calvin had come back home as opposed to staying in New Zealand where he should have and that had terrified her deep down. But it wasn’t anything that she could tell anyone, especially not her siblings. Well, perhaps her siblings would understand, but she didn’t want them to fuss over her and worry constantly about whether she was alright. Calvin was capable of very mean things and Robyn was done trying to deal with it. Which had basically forced her to move to America...an unfamiliar country, a completely different continent in fact, to the one she was so used to. It was far from home, and Robyn had needed to get as far away from there as possible. The girl wanted to forget the whole thing and just have fun for a change, and that was why she was attending the Yule Ball.

She didn’t have that many years left at school, so she wanted to see how different this dance would be to the rest she had been to in Scotland. A sight caught her eye and she raised her eyebrows, hesitating. Should she interfere? She didn’t want to be on anyone’s bad books, but it didn’t look like a very nice chat those two were having. The blonde noticed another girl, she looked vaguely familiar, but being a transfer Robyn had no knowledge of names of possible classmates just yet. She approached the group and looked at each one of them in turn. She quickly nodded, having heard the last part. "She’s right," she spoke up, not that she had been there to watch what had happened from the start but they didn’t need to know that. "It’s a silly misunderstanding on everyone’s part. Let’s just try to enjoy the evening, yeah?" she said pointedly, not wanting her first yule ball at Ilvermorny to be ruined.

Yule Ball in Ilvermorny was far different from HNZ. The fifth year transfer entered the hall and looked around for familiar faces that she could mingle with or probably wander off to the snack bar. Talitha let her eyes roamed the entirety of the hall before walking over to the group who seemed to be almost around her age. One of them looked familiar but the Wampus was not entirely sure. "Hello!". she greeted the group.
