Alyss was sitting next to the lake, bawling her eyes out. She couldn't believe that despite her father being in Slytherin, and his family being in Slytherin, she had just been sorted into Gryffindor. The sorting hat had told her that 'it didn't matter what house your family had been in, and that he was going to sort her into the house that she belonged in.' She had begged the sorting hat to place her in Slytherin, but she was too nice or reckless, the traits that her father mocked of when he spoke about the houses of Hogwarts to her. She and he had both expected, and hoped that she would be a Slytherin, and he had threatened her that if she wasn't a Slytherin she would be disowned. A Ravenclaw wouldn't have been too bad, a Hufflepuff would've been better than a Gryffindor as well, but a Gryffindor! She was sorted into Gryffindor!

Her father had also been a Death Eater, and she had been brought up thinking that she was going to be a Death Eater as well, but who would accept a Gryffindor. It was bad enough that she was half-blood, because her father had been tricked by a muggle as he told her, and then he had woken up from it, and divorced her instantly. Alyss never understood how her father could've been tricked by a muggle of all people, but she knew that her father wouldn't lie to her. Whenever he said something he always told the truth.

'Why me?' She sobbed. 'Why couldn't I have just lived up to the expectations of my father?' She supposed it was because despite her father hating muggles and mud-bloods, and trying to force Alyss to hate them as well, thinking that they were scum, which resulted in Alyss being half-scum, she didn't understand. If they had magic, then they couldn't be that bad. But she didn't like the muggles because when Alyss sent her mother a letter when she was five, not long after her parents had divorced, she had received a nasty reply from her mother saying that she didn't want anything to do with Alyss, that she could go and turn herself into a toad or something with her freaky magic, and that her mother was very happy now with a much better family. She also mentioned that she hated Alyss. That was the reason why Alyss and her father got so close since they both had a common enemy, but now that was all ruined. Was Alyss going to be sent to live with her mother now? The thought of that made her cry even more.

Jack was walking towards the lake, his Gryffindor robes flowing behind him and he jumped down the steps, he was an energetic 15 year old, so naturally he had to get out and breathe the castle was too crowded and his brother was going bananas again. Brothers sure were annoying especially twin brothers, sometimes Jack had to admit he wished that he was not a twin.
Jack continued on his happy stroll till he reached the lake, the awesomely awesome lake of awesomeness, it was so clear and so beautiful that it made Jack happy and calm when near it, just the serenity of it made Jack start to contemplate the world around him, something that he never did. When Jack had exams or something similar he would come here to relax and study.

Jack stopped when he saw a little girl sitting by the lake. ‘First year’ he thought. Jack loved first years, they were so small and cute and they were so scared of everything that it made Jack feel smarter, but most of all he liked them because they were so innocent and were never rude to someone older because most of the time they were scared, that is unless they have older siblings at the school, than they think they own the place.
“Hello little girl,” He said cheerfully, but his smile faded when he noticed that she was crying. “Little crying girl...” He corrected softly sitting beside her. “Hey whats wrong?” He asked, this little girl reminded him of his little sister Amanra, he hated seeing little kids cry, especially if they reminded him of one of his siblings. “You OK?” He asked, thinking that some older kid had been mean to her and made her cry, what other excuse was there?

xDecided I would join, hope you dont mind x
