Lexi detested the idea of going to the Yule Ball so she decided to make it a party of one on the warm summer night. She had plans to visit with her grandfather secretly as she had told her parents that she was too busy to make it home this Christmas. The truth was that she could hardly stand them and the falseness of it all or the type of people her family associated with and the way they lived. She walked past people in the entrance hall, not at all looking as if she had one speck of interest in the Yule Ball or the glittering dresses because the truth was that maybe if the Ball was only for those of pure magical blood she might be but because it wasn't she walked on by, giving a less than polite gesture to a boy who beckoned her close to him while she did so.
The girl walked by the moon light, uncaring that it would be simpler to light her wand as she wandered aimlessly through the grounds until she reached a particularly nice spot where she could overlook the rest of the grounds. Lexi held onto her bag and wand tight and climbed up the tree until she was perched on a large branch, her thin legs dangling over it. For a moment she just looked up at the starry night, appreciating the surroundings before she took out a book she'd been sent in the post which was about the superiority of purebloods. She wanted to be well-versed in these sorts before meeting her grandfather for the first time, after all. The girl muttered "Lumos" and read with the aide of her wand, unaware that someone else was nearby.
