Isaiah had so very badly wanted the cheers that had errupted from the crowd to be for Gryffindor but they hadn't been. They hadn't won. They still got second place and he knew that wasn't all that bad but he had been bold enough to have high hopes for this games which were now completely crushed. No big win. No leading Gryffindor to victory for the first time in more than a decade. No going out with a bang. Just utter disappointment. And while he liked to believe he was a good captain he felt like he had let his team down as well. He had wanted to support them, tell them it was alright, tell them how well they had done. Most importantly: tell them how proud he was of them and how much he had enjoyed being on their team. But he hadn't done any of that. Instead, he had been desperately trying to keep the disappointment of his face but failing at that as well. So he had ushered his team towards the dressing room and lingered on the pitch just a little longer himself. If only to cherish the past years of being on the pitch, of playing quidditch. He didn't think there's be much of that in the future.

Veronique had been thoroughly surprised that Hufflepuff had won, and while she was ecstatic for her own team, she knew that Elara was probably not. Veronique felt bad that Elara hadn't had the chance to catch the snitch, but she was super excited for Penelope.

As the rest of her team headed up to the castle to celebrate, Veronique realized she'd left her water bottle on the field and ran outside to grab it, seeing that not everyone had left. When she grabbed it and looked, she realized it was Elara's boyfriend. She didn't know Isaiah very well, but it must have sucked for him, too. Losing in your last year would not be fun, and Veronique walked over towards him. "You played really well," she said, hoping it might cheer him up a little.

Isaiah hadn't expected anyone to stick around after the game. He knew the Hufflepuff team would be too busy celebrating and his own team would probably be a little gloomy. Which was also why he knew he couldn't stay out here for too long. Even if the season was over and done with he was still their captain. Still wanted to talk to them, say what he wanted to say.

Having been lost in thoughts Zay looked up in surprise when someone approached him, talked to him. "Yeah, thanks." He responded, shooting El's cousin a simple smile. "Shouldn't you be celebrating though?" He questioned in a friendly manner. If anything, he wasn't bitter that they had lost to Hufflepuff. They were a solid team and he was happy for them, even through his own disappointment.
