Age

Full Name:
Alfred Magnus Gorbach

Date of Birth:
October 7, 2054

Current Age:
11 years old

Basic Appearance:
Alfred grew up in the north of Europe and is a tall for his age with blond hair and hazel eyes. He’s been doing archery since he was six, so he’s in good shape for his age. He’s curious, stubborn, and not great at leaving things alone. That’s how he ended up with the scar under his left eye. He dry fired a bow just to see what would happen.

Personality:
Alfred’s curious, stubborn, and not great at letting things go. He’s the type to push buttons just to see what happens. He speaks up when something feels off and doesn’t do well with being told what to think. Loyalty runs deep with him, but trust doesn’t come easy. He’s not afraid to take risks, especially if someone tells him not to.

Family:
Alfred is the only child of his parents, who are both renowned archers in their own right. His father, Henrik Stormyr, is a former champion archer and his mother, Ingrid Gorbach, is a current member of the national archery team.
Winning mattered. So did precision. Alfred learned that early.

Magnus Stormyr and Astrid Nilsen, Alfred's paternal grandparents, were both known archers as well. Magnus had won national titles in his youth. Astrid preferred hunting in the forests. They lived in a small village, not far from Alfred's parents' home. Alfred loved visiting his grandparents and listening to their stories of archery competitions and hunting adventures.

Archery wasn’t a hobby. It was something Alfred was expected to carry. His father made that clear early on. The tradition ran deep, all the way to some great-great-grandfather who died long before Alfred was born. So Alfred trained. Got better. Entered competitions. Won a few, then most. Made his dad and pops proud, and that reaction stuck. Do what they expect and you're everything. Step out of line and you’re nothing. So he didn’t.

Alfred thinks his mother is muggle born, but she's a squib. She never told Henrik. Never told Alfred. She kept it buried, like everything else she tried to leave behind.

When Alfred received his letter from Hogwarts, Henrik was terrified of his son's abilities. His fear his son might grow into something he couldn't control or understand led him to make the decision of sending Alfred away to live with a distant relative in New Zealand.

The distant aunt from New Zealand who took in Alfred is named Amelia. She had never met Alfred or his parents before, but she knew of the family's troubled past and was determined to give Alfred the support he needed.

As Alfred gets ready to start his magical education, he can't help but wonder about his family's secrets and the reasons behind his parents dramatic reaction to his acceptance letter. It also wasn’t until that letter that he began to wonder about his mother’s side of the family. He had never met anyone from her side and had never thought much about it before. Things felt normal growing up. He was loved and he was happy, or at least he thought he was.

Pets:
Alfred doesn’t have a pet, but he’s always wanted a cat.

Area of Residence:
Norway, now New Zealand.

Blood Status:
Half Blood

Heritage:
Alfred comes from a long line of archers, which includes both his parents and paternal grandparents. He knows nothing about his mother’s past, nor her side of the relatives.

Special Abilities:
None that he knows of.

Interests or Hobbies:
Archery, but he also enjoys exploring the forests, hiking and camping.

Additional Skills:
Alfred picks things up fast and has a sharp mind for solving problems. Years of archery have made him athletic with quick reflexes. His native language is Norwegian, but he is fluent in English.

Strengths:
Alfred is brave, loyal, and quick to speak up when something feels off. He doesn’t mind taking risks if they make sense to him. Archery drilled precision into him early. He’s comfortable in physical situations and knows how to handle himself.

Weaknesses:
Alfred can be impulsive and stubborn, especially when he feels cornered. He has a hard time trusting people and tends to keep his guard up, even when he doesn’t need to. He’s quick to anger and doesn’t always know what to do with strong emotions.

A page from your diary:
It has been said and I’ll say it again – whoever came up with the saying “what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger” was full of crap.

I’m not dead, but I sure as hell don’t feel stronger.

This new world I've been thrown into is a nightmare. The seasons are all wrong, and everything in my life is suddenly upside down. It's like I'm living in some twisted parallel universe. I miss my home, my room, my school, my… everything. It's like a part of me is missing, and I don't know how to get it back.I can't even enjoy the food here, no matter how much garlic sauce I drown those jalapeno cheese nuggets in. (That’s when you know it’s really bad.)I feel like I want to cry, but my father always said real men don’t cry, but then again, my father also said blood is thicker than water and how family is everything, but that didn’t stop him from sending me off to a different continent, so maybe I shouldn’t be listening to a man who would abandon his own son and his own beliefs so quickly. I now know that there are different schools like this. Why here? Why this one? I mean, had he known there was a school on a different planet, would he have placed me on the first spaceship he could find just to get me as far away as possible? Why? What did I do?

Not a word from him, since I moved here. Sorry, since I was moved here like a piece of furniture. Not a single word. I feel so lost and alienated, dumped in a random place with a complete stranger who treats me like a baby (to be fair, she is really nice and she makes great pancakes, but I’m not in the mood for gratitude).

I need to get out of this house.

I need to get a bow and a few arrows. An olympic recurve bow. Aluminium riser with a wooden grip for easier modification with matching carbon limbs, micro-adjustable sight, plunger and a clicker.
Yup, that’s a start.
