[Rose Holland]

Rose knew that her costume maybe wasn't the most inspired one in the great hall tonight, but she still really liked it. It had been fun to see what her sisters had dressed up as, and she was happy that even Diana had joined the fun, though apparently reluctantly. It had been alarming to see her sister so sad, and Rose hoped she would feel better soon. It was difficult to help her younger sister with something she herself hadn't experienced yet, but she hoped she had done okay. But tonight wasn't about sad things, it was about fun and spooky things! The great hall looked as wonderful as ever, and Rose had a wide grin on her face as she approached the tent. She hoped to run into someone she knew so they could go inside together, but wouldn't mind meeting someone new either. The events at Hogwarts were always good for meeting and socalizing with people, and she hoped that tonight would be no different.

Signy hadn’t wanted to really go to the halloween feast, she barely had a costume for it, but she was just wearing a flowing yellow gown with a bright yellow hair band and was saying she was the sun. It wasn’t the most imaginative costume but it was what she was wearing, and she would be happy to wear it too, but without Xavier to spend the time with either at or not then she wasn’t so sure what to do with herself at the event. In the end as she wandered around she spotted someone she knew, a fellow prefect and from what she had read in the news daughter of the new minister for magic. But, for Signy she was just another girl in her year and the costume was pretty good too. A sailor obviously. Signy walked over and smiled at the girl as she headed over, ”Rose,” she greeted hopeful that this was actually the girl’s name and she hadn’t just called her the wrong thing. But she was pretty sure she’d gotten it right. It would be nice to spend the time with someone she didn’t really know. It would be a chance to get to know her a little better surely, ”That’s a good costume, did you get it specifically for this event?” Signy asked motioning to the room around them, clearly asking if the costume were just things she already had or something bought for the event itself.

Rose looked up when she heard her name, and smiled at the blonde who approached. She knew Signy a little, as she was also a prefect in her year and the cousin of Rose's friend Andi. But she didn't think she had ever really talked to the girl for longer than a second. She remembered the girl had been at the OWL studying session Corrine had set up last year, but besides that their paths hadn't really crossed. "Hi Signy, that dress is amazing." She said, looking down to admire it for a moment. "Are you a princess? Or maybe a queen?" Rose grinned in thanks as Signy complimented her own costume, playfully tipping her hat slightly. "I did, but it's a pretty simple costume to be fair." She said with a small shrug. "But I like it. Do you want to hang out for a bit and see what kind of activities we can do? Or were you waiting for someone else?"
