It had been a busy week. she had been on the infective diseases ward as a current outbreak of dragonpox was going around the community, as the trainee, it meant that she was one of the first to be moved to the ward. she had finished her shift and it was one of the unusual times when she ant ty were on almost the shame shift. she made it home and had an hour before ty came back. she got some food preparing itself before she sat down flicking through the prophet and putting a couple of numbers into the sudoku before she felt her eyes starting to feel heavy maybe if she just rested them for a couple of minutes, she thought putting the pencil down. and before she knew it she was asleep.

Tybalt had been dragged into a last minute meeting at work, something he always tried to avoid, but hadn’t been nearly as lucky that day. It meant that rather than being home an hour after after Rhi, it was a little under two. He had been wanting to head home for a while, the hospital just felt so busy these last few days. But, he had a few days off and he was certainly going to make the most of it. Dating and being with Rhi, had been the easiest thing he’d ever done, and he was always so thankful that at the end of every work day he got to go home to her. That at the end of every day she had, he got to be the one she came home too. He loved Rhi, with all of his heart. He walked into their house, having apparated to the front door, ”Hey honey, sorry I’m a little late,” he said loudly, unsure of what part of the house she would be in, but he heard nothing back. He took off his shoes and outer wear and then changed into comfortable clothes for the house. It meant to him that she wasn’t in the bedroom, or even the study. He headed to the kitchen, perhaps she had popped out for something, but it was as he went into this room that he spotted her, sleeping at their kitchen table. He smiled fondly and then went to the food, he flicked his wand to help get it reheated. Ty went over to Rhi and very lightly placed a hand on her shoulder, ”Honey, wake up,” he hoped it wouldn’t startle her too much. It wasn’t the first or last time either of them had been mostly asleep in various places in the house following a long shift.

Rhiannon shifted slightly as she heard a noise. no, it wasn't time to wake up yet. but she could hear footsteps coming closer. she mumbled a no and shifted in her bed only it wasn't a bed it was a chair, a wooden one at that and there was a hand on her shoulder and a gentle voice telling her to wake up.
she lifted her head up from her arm pillow and blinked a few times her eyes adjusting to the room. she looked up to see Tybalt's face and she smiled, she was lucky to have him. "Sorry, I fell asleep" she said groggily stating the obvious and putting her hand on top of his interlocking fingers. before glancing around the kitchen. she hoped that the food hadn't burned or that the potatoes hadn't boiled dry. how long had she been gone? "how was your day?" she asked. they had been on the same ward, infection, but the busyness of it meant that she hadn't really spoken to him. She had been working under one of the other healers as he wasn't allowed to supervise her unless it was necessary to prevent any conflict of interest.

Tyablt took a seat next to her at the table as she woke. He couldn’t help but smile softly, he had seen her on the same ward as him, but of course they weren’t able to work together but he knew that it could be quite gruelling, he had gotten quite used to it, but he knew that it could be long and difficult shifts and with the way the ward was currently it was a lot of long and difficult shifts. He shook his head, ”it’s okay, I’m home a little late,” the man said to her, he could never be upset or not understanding to her when she was working as hard she was and he knew that he to would hope that she wouldn’t mind if he did the same to, ”The food’s just fine, magic really helps it,” he told her, he knew that the food would be just fine. And at the question he gave a little shrug, ”it was fine, I got dragged into a last minute meeting before I left which went on forever,” He rolled his eyes expressly to show how annoying it was. ”How was your day? Your shift wasn’t too bad?” he really hoped that she quite liked working in the same ward as him but he wasn’t sure that was where she might end up. He hoped she liked it enough but he didn’t mind if she didn’t opt to work there. It was good to see her more during the day, but he of course he would rather than she pick whatever she needed to do, pick what she wanted to do.

Rhiannon started to wake up as tybalt started to talk. there was something about him that just felt incredibly comfortable to her. she was so glad that he was the one who she got to come home to after work. at least if they weren't working opposite each other, occasionally they would go a few days just leaving notes on the table. she was glad this week wasn't one of those weeks. "thank goodness for magic. I wouldn't want to be eating half made curry. and burned rice is a nightmare to get out of a pot without it" she said. in reference to the food. it was a good thing the ingredients has continued to prepare themselves after she had fallen asleep.
she stood up and wrapped her arms around him and gave him a brief hug "I hope that the meeting wasn't too boring" she said before letting go so that she could check on the state of dinner. "Of course it wasn't a bad shift. the infection team is great. but it was so busy. I hardly had time to think." she said. though she was aware that he too would have had a similar experience except him being a full healer mean her had more responsibilities. and more things to do. however, the infection ward was not where she felt most comfortable and it was not the area she wanted to work in once she qualified, she had always enjoyed obstetrics and neonatal care most. 'Did you want anything to drink with your dinner? she asked as her stomach started to grumble as it recognised the scent of food.

Tybalt smiled in agreement, he knew that Rhi had a far more recent and long standing experience in the muggle world, but he remembers bits of it from when he’d been young. He had always been pleased when they’d started using more magical thing and certainly since graduating and becoming of age he hadn’t bothered much with doing things in any other way. The man just nodded in agreement, ”It wouldn’t have been good,” he would’ve likely not struggled as much when using magic but it would’ve still been an effort and he would’ve still been sure that it wouldn’t really be worth it. So thankfully the magic protected the items from that in the first place. He shrugged, ”All meetings are boring,” he thought he might’ve like the more bureaucratic matters but in reality they had never been something that he liked. He liked doing, being out there in the patients working. ”You get used to it, and some days are less busy than others,” he assured her. He’d felt drawn to infectious maladies when he’d first tried it, though he’d enjoyed other elements, this was something he had really liked. ”It can certainly be a long shift,” He knew everyone had their preferences when it came to healing and he knew it wasn’t for everyone but it was for him. The man nodded, ”Do we have any of that beer left?” he asked, thinking that a beer would go down really well.

OOCOut of Character:
every day i have come home from work the last couple if weeks i have just about done what rhiannon did in the first post.

there were some nights when she had, in her last appartment, just come home from work forced herself to get something to eat otherwise she would get a migrane and then just sit down and watch tv. on nights like that her freezer was a godsend stuffed full with meals sheh ad made on days off or that her mum had given to her. if she had still been living on her own today would have been one of those days. the nap had helped a lot of course. As tybalt said that all meetings were boring she shook her head. "no the education meetings can be interesting. that case last month about the child who had broken into their parent's potion cabinet was good. who would have thought that combination of potions would have caused that" she said. clearly she hadn't finished her study with healer Thorne in the potions department, from what she had heard and seen of him he seemed like a good teacher. "if only people all got sick at a constant rate. at least even as busy as if there was a pandemic. there are some horror stories about when my parents were our age and there was a pandemic across the world. It sounded like it would have been horrible to work in" she said thinking of the stories. apparently her parents had left her brother with their aunt so he was safe and they didnt get him sick. she, of course, had been born a couple of years later.
she examined the curry and waved her wand over it. it was something that would easily be salvaged. "yes, did you want to split one. we have the normal beer or the fancy stuff" she said looking in the cupboard where they kept them, she didn't fancy a full one but would have half. or she would have butterbeer if he didnt.

Tyablt hadn’t always wanted to prepare meals in the way that he tended to with Rhi, even with magic making things a little easier, there were days with shifts that he just wanted to collapse into a rubbish meal and then bbed. But he had to admit that with her around, with their house and their life he wanted to do it. He wanted to sit with her and talk about nothing and have dinner, there was something so satisfying about doing that with her. He nodded a little, as she talked about the educational meetings being interesting, he had to admit some of it was pretty interesting, some of it was pretty boring, meetings about hospital structure and ward capacity could drain on, but the more learning ons were good. ”You’re right there, I do like learning about things like that,” he said, he didn’t et to do a whole lot of it any more since he was now fully qualified but whenever he could he tried to grab a moment to do it. The man watched as as she got up and went to check on the curry, while he nodded, ”We can split one, and let’s go with the fancy stuff,” he smiled at her, ”I think we both definitely deserve the fancy stuff,” though he was the one telling her about which one, Tybalt got up and began getting the different bits and pieces himself. Getting the glasses and the beer. He placed them down on the table and with a flick of his wand the remaining cutlrey made it’s way to the table. He smiled as he opened the beer and carefully halved it out. He put the empty beer bottle down and then took both glasses. He handed one to Rhi and smiled, ”Cheers,”

as they spoke about meetings and education Rhiannon went to the stove picking up a couple of bowls on the way and started to scoop the rice and then the curry into them. "Curry on the top or to the side" she asked if there was one curry she always had hers on top. she turned to take the dishes to the table and set them down. She took the glass of beer of Ty and raised it slightly "Cheers. to another day" she said wondering if she should add anything else. but she wasnt sure what else to say. she took a sip and smiled. before she and tapped the glass with her wand cooling it down with magic, who needed a fridge for beer when you had charms. she took another mouthful and put it down next to her dish. "Thanks Ty" she said the amount of gratitude not just for the drink but for being there for her, with her, and everything he did evident in her voice. she took a seat despite the fact that she was tired she was glad this was how she got to spend her evening. she could not think of anyone else she would rather spend it with. she took a mouthful of the food and swallowed. it was a little dry, if only she hadnt fallen asleep it would have been a perfect evening.

Tybalt glanced at Rhi as she began serving the dishes, he thought about the question for a moment before deciding, ”On the top,” he liked to make sure he was sure of such decisions, he knew it was important. He cheered with her and took a light sip, he liked to think he was pretty good at telling the different between expensive and non-expensive beers and he had really taken a liking to this one specifically. He sat down at the table and took his fork, he smiled at her thanks and very lightly shook his head, ”Course honey,” he said. Things with Rhi had always been a level of easy that he hadn’t expected. He knew that sometimes they got frustrated because days were long and stressful, but there were so many good days, far outweighing anything bad that he had never felt so comfortable and at ease coming home to someone. He knew too that they couldn’t have possibly dated in school, that they were too different, they had been forging their own paths, and it was now, now they could and he was thankful for it. Rhi was a beautiful woman, intelligent beyond anything he was and just wonderful. ”Tastes amazing.” he told her happily after a few bits, he wouldn’t have noticed if it was half burnt, he’d always eat it and always be sure to fire a compliment too. He appreciated that she had even thought to do it. ”Maybe next time we both have time off, we should take a little trip?” he knew they were both stressed and working hard, and their whole relationship in the beginning had been those trips, they could do one now and it be even easier. ”Maybe we could find the worlds best spa, and have a couples spa retreat?” he had a little joking in his tone but would accept it if she wanted it.

Rhiannon couldn't help but feel relaxed sitting here with Ty. they weren't doing anything exciting. just sitting eating some slightly overcooked curry and sharing a beer but there was a perfection in the simplicity of the moment. She took a mouthful of her dinner. and as she slowly chewed it she watched him. his brown hair that always seemed to stick up somewhere and his bright blue eyes that it was almost a shame that he would never see properly. she reached across the table wanting to hold his hand. the only part of him that she could reach from the distance.
As Tybalt suggested that they take a trip she smiled it had been a while since they had gone on a trip together, long "Yes. that sounds like a good plan" she said thinking of where she would like to go. since they had moved in together the need was less important as they got to see each other almost every day. but they were still good fun. She took a sip of her beer and then another mouthful of curry. chewing as she pondered Tybalt's suggestion of a spa retreat. a spa was not usually something that appealed to her. at least not the small shops set up in shopping areas that offered massages and facials. but she had a feeling going with ty would be different for starters she was sure a proper spa would be more fun. and no matter what they were doing if she were with ty it would be fun. "Hmm. maybe not the worlds best spa. I bet that would be pretentious and expensive and overrated. but if you want to do a spa retreat maybe somewhere unique. like hot springs or in a rainforest or with mountain views" she said thinking out loud. not sure if he was joking with the suggestion.

[[My mind somehow automatically went to hot lagoons in iceland]]

Tybalt smiled as she took on board his suggestion, of course a relationship of only trips - as theres had almost been was a little difficult to maintain and he was always pleased that they were living together. Things had been easy between them and they’d always managed to just exist together well, but he knew that it was because they’d both not had time otherwise to let it not happen. The man knew now, since they hadn’t done it for a while and had been working hard for a long time that it would be a good thing for them to do. He took a long sip of his beer and then quietly ate his food as she countered with a few ideas, ”Well, we never did go to Iceland,” he said, they had been to a good number of places but it seemed not Iceland. Just never been a good occasion for it, but it was winter here in New Zealand so it was the height of summer. He could imagine it would be nice to go, be able to experience the amount of daylight that it had and just enjoy themselves in those lagoons. They could too see the sites so it would be a relaxing trip without too many of the price tags or the weirdness of going to a place to get a couple’s massage, though he was sure they would do it. ”It’s summer over there and while I don’t think it gets hot in Iceland, it could be fun to see the long days?” He knew they could afford it, and they would just need to both find two days they were off, which happened, and he knew they would have a good time. Though he could also imagine going to a really hot and warm place would be nice too, it would definitely be a break from the winter of New Zealand.

Rhiannon shewed slowly on a piece of chicken as she thought about where they could go. there was one place that immediately came to her mind. she had seen pictures of steaming water, and snowy ground and rugged wilderness. it seemed like Tybalt had had a similar thought as he also mentioned Iceland. "I have always wanted to visit Iceland" she said. it was never somewhere that was first on her list of places to go to. but she had always thought of going there. She had wanted to see the northern lights but that was a winter thing. and come to think of it she had the feeling the experience would not be the same for tybalt. she wanted to see the wilderness, chase the waterfalls. but most of all she wanted to to to the lagoons. volcanically heated with mineral-rich water. "they have the midnight sun over there in simmer which means we dont even have to work out time zones. just travel and not change from new Zealand time" she said thoughtfully. "we have already committed to dinner with my family next time we are off to celebrate my mum's birthday. but it won't be log after that when we are both off again" she said. trying to think of where her roster was and what other commitments they had. there wasn't time htis month. but next month looked like a good option.
She finished her curry and got up a wave of her wand sent the dish back to the sink to clean its self. she instead walked around to Tybalts side of the table and put her arms around his shoulders from the back. sometimes tables were so inconvenient. "you know i love you" she whispered leaning her chin on his shoulder before kissing him on the cheek near the ear where she could reach. she really did love him. even if she didnt say it often enough.

Tybalt smiled, they always seemed to be a similar wavelength with such things. They both knew enough about the world that that would be a place that would come to mind, but they hadn’t ever been and perhaps this would be a good idea. He nodded, his gaze remained on her as she clearly gave the destination some thought. His fork sat idly in his hand, they had been together for a little while, he could plan all the trips in the world with her. To go wherever they wanted to in the world whenever they had the time off. In his mind since buying the house together he knew he was in this for the absolute long haul. He had been giving forever some thought and he was feeling in this moment, something deep tug in his heart. When she spoke again, he broke out of her revere and just continued to eat the food, eating it a little more quickly to match where she was. He nodded when she reminded him that they had dinner with her dinner with her family next time they were both off. But there would be the next one. He finished his curry, he knew it wouldn’t matter which weekend it was they went, that it wouldn’t matter if it took months before they went. He finished his food as she did and he left the magic take the plate back to the sink. The man knew that a simple spell would have the dishes done. He leaned into her touch, letting a hand reach back, and sit on her leg. He leaned into her and smiled, ”I know,” he said, there was never a doubt in his mind about it. ”I love you too,” was his simple reply. He loved her so much, in a relationship he felt he’d fallen backwards into with someone who had meant so much to him for a long period of time. He knew he’d always love her. Maybe it was time for the next step.
