Wendall had so many thoughts swirling around in his head. Some good, some bad, most of them confusing. He used to think that the older he got, the easier things would be. He would know more which meant that things would be clearer, and instead he was faced with more problems with every year that came to him. The third year was sat in the Conglomerated Arts room, hoping that the change of scene would help his inspiration for his work that he was doing at a small table near the back of the room by himself. Despite being on the Hogwarts Monthly team, Wendall wasn't sure he was a very good writer although he did like to try. Besides this wasn't for Hogwarts Monthly, so much as one of his own projects he was looking forward to getting started. He didn't mind that there weren't so many people here, his lip was still bruised from the feast when he'd fallen over and bitten it, although at least the trip to the hospital wing meant that it was no longer quite so sore and swollen. It had been embarrassing, having the Head Boy of all people help him out, although he was secretly glad he had. Zennon had stayed with him and Leda for a while over the break, and even though Wendall hadn't really spoken to him much he seemed nice-ish. Wendall's tongue was stuck out as he concentrated on getting the write words to try and explain what he wanted to portray, although it was much easier to visualise these things in his head he would have to get it down on paper if he wanted this to work.

The semester had started in the strangest possible way though Chase had been grateful for the chaos of the food fight as it had been a welcome distraction to the events of the holidays. What he could have done without was finding Wendall on the floor of the great hall bleeding. Chase was glad he and the head boy had been able to get him up to the hospital wing and he had turned out fine but it had been rather unsettling. As the haze of the first day faded into a new semester Chase decided to seek out Wendall and check on him, he knew that the wonders of the hospital wing had him fixed up in minutes but he knew Wendall had a tendency to injure himself and wanted to make sure it didn't have a long term emotional effect on him. Chase hadn't thought to look in the conglomerated arts room so it ended up being one of the last places he looked after exhausted everywhere else he was used to finding him. "Hey," Chase said walking up behind him. "What you working on?"

Wendall was just getting to the bottom of the page when he heard the door open behind him and the third year peered over his shoulder to see Chase coming his way. It made a change that he wasn't finding him in some sort of compromising position, given the number of times the Ravenclaw managed to heave him out of situations. He was feeling a little better too about things generally since that afternoon on the lake too, and while things between him and Jenna were still pretty unclear, he wasn't quite as angry any more, albeit a bit more confused. "Hey Chase," he said, voice breaking awkwardly from having not spoken for a while. He did his best to clear his throat as the Ravenclaw came to look over his shoulder. "It's a screenplay." he said, laying down his quill and looking at his work so far. It didn't really seem that exciting though, and he'd been the one to write it. "For films and stuff. Thought I'd try and write my own." He wasn't great at articles but he'd seen enough films to think he could probably put a story together. Leda had done that too. She'd told him of how she used to tell stories, although this wasn't the same. "What are you doing?" he asked his friend, wondering what had him all the way down here.
