Roze smiled as she gazed out at the sunrise, hoping Esmeralda was watching it too. She hadn't been able to see it in a long time. It was usually something she and her best friend did when they spent the night together back home. Since she had classes this morning anyway, she decided to go ahead and get up early to come see it. And now she knew it was definitely worth it.

"If only Esmeralda could see it from up here," she thought. "She would love it. It's like you can see across the universe." Roze began singing Aross the Universe by The Beatles. Anything could trigger a song in her mind. It could even be something as small as the word "think."

"Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe... "

Roze's singing got a little louder. She was alone, after all. Even though people often told her she was a great singer, she never sang in front of people she didn't know well. She was shy and it made her nervous. Sometimes she would hum, but only sometimes.

The sunrise was seriously the most beautiful thing Carson ever experienced. Though the times in which this brown haired eleven year old saw the sight she was on the beach gazing up at the beauty of mother nature before her. Though thought made Carson let out a small sigh as the thin legged girl sat in the Gryffindor common room enjoying the beauty of the fire, another of nature's beauties. Though it wasn't as grand as the sunrises that she remembered. Her blue eyes glanced up at the clock. It was around the time for sunrise to occur. I can still make it to the towers She thought quickly rising from the couch.

Running up the stairs to the dorm room that was newly decorated in her only theme beach and boardwalk. Without even looking around the room she grabbed hoodie that her mother had designed just this year. New arrivals were always owled straight to this young fashionista. Not that she could wear the new collection all the time with the need for uniforms. However Carson was getting over that small fact. More so she was just dealing with it.

Her feet rushing as the young girl basically ran to the towers throwing her hoodie over her head in the process. She wasn't sure how chilly it would be in her favourite star gazing place. Though certainly it wasn't time to be stargazing. Instead this blue eyed beauty had another plan for visiting the towers. Reliving the sunrise memories that were first made in her hometown of LA.

So many stairs as she continued to run up there not wanting to miss it. Mother nature waited for no one. Yet as she made it to the top she heard a noise, a voice, a singing voice none the less. Listening to the words of the song, Carson smiled. It was the beatles. As the young girl sang, Carson started to mouth the words until she began to join in singing the next verse. "Jai guru deva om Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world Nothing's gonna change my world" She sang coming into the other girls view.

Of course Carson's voice wasn't the best. Nothing out of the ordinary, but never has that stopped her from singing before and it never would. Slowly walking up to the girl who looked maybe a bit older than her, Carson spoke. "Sorry if I am interrupting. Just came to watch the sunrise" Carson explained hoping the girl wasn't mad that this beach babe was being bothersome.

Roze heard what sounded like another voice join in when she began the next verse. She kept singing, though, until the end of the line when she saw another girl standing near her and singing along.

At first she was a little startled. She usually only saw the sunrise with Esmeralda. Then she remembered where she was.

"Oh, it's no problem." Roze replied shyly to the girl's apology. She looked out the window, trying to think of something to say. She hated anything the least bit awkward.

"Do you watch the sunrise a lot?"

Carson smiled as the girl looked a tad bit startled with the entrance of this young fashionista. Her shoes clicking as she walked closer to the older girl and the window. A smile spread aross her face as she leaned up against the window. "I'm glad you don't mind. I would't want to be bothersome" She said waiting to keep the air free and relaxed. A tense aura always killed everything and Carson certainly wanted to keep things in good nature. Why go through life with challanges and difficulties.

Referring to the question that was asked in the direction of Carson, Carson looked at the older girl. "Actually this is my first time watching the sunrise here. I watched it at home all the time. Sat on the beach and watched it all the time. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I wanted to see if the sunrise was the same here. If natures beauty was the same around the world" Carson said realizing maybe that was too much information. Never had she been yelled out for be such an open book, but yes she was nothing more than an open book. "Do you come here to watch the sunrise a lot" Carson asked the girl.

Turning her head to glance out the window again, Carson waited for the girl to answer the question. Remembering that introductions have not been made. Soon that would have to be done. Carson wouldn't leave this lovely sight without meeting a new person and giving an introduction.

Roze listened to the girl's reply. Her thought's were similar to Roze's. She, also, liked to watch the sunrise and wanted to view it from other places, just to compare.

"I've only seen it here once before. I really love it though. You can see so far from up here. My best friend and I would watch it when we spent the night together back home. Roze explained.

"It really is amazing from up here, but nothing can ever compare to the feeling you get when you watch it from home, you know?" She said, lost in thoughts of home.

Roze leaned against the wall next to the window, staring out at the horizon.

The bright blue eyes of the young girl couldn't leave the view that was before here. So beautiful yet so different from back home. She missed the feel of sands beneath her feet and the ocean waves crashing in with cold water spraying at times that would just chill and yet at the same time keep the young child and her friends awake. It was a sight to see back there but again it was a sight to see here as well.

Colours filled the sky as she gazed upon one of nature's wonderful creations. The voice of the girl next to her filling her eyes. Yet Carson was slightly concentrating more on the colours and the beauty. The other part of her was concentrating on the words that were filling her ears. What else was there to listen to really? Not that Carson didn't want to talk to this girl at all. Actually she would love to hold the conversation with her. It was simply that she missed the noise around her. The sunrises here were quiet. Certainly something Carson was going to have to get used to.

Keeping her gaze, but opening her mouth Carson began to speak again. "Yeah it's different than home. Everything is always going to be different. But honestly the difference in the situation makes it beautiful in it's own way." Carson said. Taking a slight breath, Carson began again. "Where have you seen the sunset from before? Oh and I'm Carson by the way". The young brunette turned to the girl next to her and gave her a bright smile.

Roze's gaze never left the sky. The sun was showing itself more and more every minute. She didn't want it to end. She didn't want to go to class today, but she had to.

"Ja," she agreed, her Colombian accent showing slightly. It did that with some words, especially Spanish ones, although she spoke English well with an almost perfect Californian accent.

"We would go out to the fields outside our village in Colombia and watch it there." Roze answered. She thought of the vast fields she and Esmeralda would go to. The grass was soft, lush, and bright. Her home was in a tiny ancient village in the middle of nowhere. It was perfect. Everyone was like family. You grow up knowing everyone. Even though it was old and out of the way of the larger towns and cities, it still had some modern ties: cars, radios, TV's, indoor plumbing. They weren't completely cut off from the outside world.

"Oh, uh, I'm Roze," she replied as she broke out of her reverie. She tore her eyes away from the sky and looked at the girl with a smile, actually seeing the girl before her. Roze took in her hair, her stylish clothes, her perfectly tanned skin, her radiant smile. She seemed so confident. The girl looked like all the beautiful Hollywood stars she'd seen in American magazines and movies. She was mesmerized by the girl in front of her.
