A wander in the Forest...

Tayla was wandering in the forbidden forest for some fresh air. She just wanted to be alone, because she had gotten a letter from her annoying mother this morning. Letters from her mother always ruined her day. She was so embarrassing! Tayla always burnt the letters in the fire in the common room so that no one could read them. She never replied either. She just wished she'd leave her alone! She thought by going to Hogwarts she'd escape all that. Obviously not.

 

[Elspeth Brookes]

Elspeth was walking in the Forbidden Forest, hoping to escape the anxious and concerned glances her friends gave her when they thought she wasn't looking. Spotting a girl walking ahead of her, she quickened her step slightly to catch up. She didn't want to be alone, just with people who didn't know what had happened. On closer inspection, the girl seemed to be a first year 'Puff, about the same age as Elspeth. She walked up to her, saying to her, "Hey, hey! Wait up a sec." She caught up quickly and turned to the 'Puff. "What's your name? I'm Elspeth, most days."

Tayla suddenly heard someone behind her and slowed. Glancing at the girl, she said "Hi, my names Tayla." She looked around at the trees of the Forest, a little scared by Elspeth's answer. "What do you mean, most days?" She asked, unable to keep a tremor of fear from her voice.
