Jennette didn't want to go home for Christmas. She did last year and she found being back in the muggle world boring especially when she heard what the castle was like this time of year. So this year she decided to stay at Hogwarts and enjoy Christmas in the castle. Although truth be told she didn't spend much time in the castle during the day, most her time was spent either on the vast lawn or down by the lake. Today was no different, she spent the morning doing a little studying for the subjects she was taking the following semester. Then she packed up her books, shoved them under her bed and took a slow walk down the Grand staircase and out into the beautiful Hogwarts grounds. She loved days like this, the gleaming sunlight reflecting off the great lake in the background. A gentle warm breeze playfully blew the hem of her sky blue sun dress. She flattened the back of her dress and she laid down on grass and stretched out. She had never felt so relaxed.

Warren had returned early from the winter break. He was happy to see his family, but he found it difficult to talk with many of the people from his old life before Hogwarts. He has been so disconnected from everything he had once knew. He changed, and his old friends and family could tell.

So, he decided it would be best to head back to Hogwarts early. He would get caught up, read a head a bit for his upcoming classes, and practice for the upcoming quidditch matches.

This was actually what brought Warren to the Hogwarts gardens this morning. Warren never took to flying as well as other students did. However, he recently purchased a new broom and noticed a stark improvement. Still he needed to practice and was hopeful to improve his skills.

Warren’s practice started very innocently. He wanted to practice dodging bludgers. So, he released two and took to the air. However, bludgers lack an off switch. So it eventually got to the point that Warren was getting tired but he couldn’t think of a way to actually stop the darn balls from attacking him.

“HELP ME!” He screamed as he began to fly as fast as he could. Both balls where in hot pursuit. Warren soon found himself flying over the gardens instead of the pitch. And in a few moments after that he felt a blow to his side as he knocked off his broom by the ball. He hit the ground with a thud, but quickly pulled out his wand saying, “Repello Bludger.” Three times. Once on himself to prevent an even worse pounding, and once on each of the bludgers. He remembered his charms Professor saying if you cast repello on an object, and cause them to repel itself, they would simply tear themselves apart trying to get away from itself. His professor did not disappoint. The bludger quartered themselves and fell on the ground.

Warren was to exhausted to move. He simply lied on the ground. All he could muster doing was saying one pathetic “Ow”.

OOCOut of Character:
Well its longer then I thought it would be. Sorry for the extravagant back story.

Jennette's peaceful serenity was suddenly interrupted by the yelling of an oncoming broomstick rider. She sat up and looked on as the boy came hurtling to the ground, she heard him yell for help but Jennette had no sooner pulled out her wand than he had hit the ground with a thud. She ran towards him, "Are you OK?" She said as she helped him to his feat. "What are you doing, you clearly can't fly. What are you a first year?" She asked probably sounding a lot more bitter than she usually would. "OK that may have been a little mean, are you alright? That's the main thing," She said once she had helped him to his feet.

It was surprisingly peaceful, lying on the ground. The sensations of relief flooded over him as he stopped being chased by the bludgers. He could have lay here in this state for forever.

Of course, as John Keats described anything beautiful is fleeting, and that is why its beautiful. So unfortunately, this beautiful moment had to be interrupted.

For Warren it was a rather rude interruption too. Being called a first year based off his broom riding skills is one of the worst things a Quidditch player can hear. And so with offence he said, “What do you mean a first year! I’m on the Hufflepuff quidditch team!“

However, Warren quickly calmed down at the second year’s apology. “Ya I’m alright!” He said with a big grin while rubbing the top of his head. “I’m a quidditch player after all, I have to get use to a few bludgers here and there. Thanks for checking on me though.”

Warren was really grateful. It was always nice to know someone would be watching his back despite the fact that he barely knew the girl.

“Barely know…” He thought.

“Hey do I know you from somewhere?”

Jennette didn't quite know what to say when the second year exclaimed that he was in fact her was a member of the Hufflepuff quidditch team. She did all she could to hold back a gleeful retort. "Well Okay then," She said coolly helping him to his feet. Jennette racked her brain when he suggested that he knew her, then he remembered that he was Hufflepuff and by the look of him no doubt a second year like himself. "Erm, we might have Defense against the Dark arts together?" She suggested vaguely recognizing him as one of the students she passed every week coming in and out of the class. "I can't say I pay a lot of attention to whose in the classroom with me but as your a hufflepuff that's my best guess," She added.

“No…” Warren sighed while shaking his head. “No we haven’t started Dark Arts together yet. That’s after the winter break. Oh unless you meant last year… in which case yes. But anyways this is a troll-sized shame!” Warren announced. “We have sat in a classroom together for one and a half years in various classes, and you probably have the slightest idea about me. Based on the fact that other than your name and that you’re a lion I no nothing about you. We should fix this.”

With his chest all huffed up and hufflepuffy Warren marched over to the nearest bench sat down and started to make strange head jerking motions to Jeanette. Trying his best to indicate, follow me and sit down.
