The potions Professor has recently been noticing her niece looking gloomy as November came into place. Sydney hadn't talked to Venice that much for the past couple of weeks because of their tight schedule but she visits her at her classroom after dinner. Although seeing each other, the girl usually opens her mouth to talk. It was usually homework and school related she needed with her. It dawned on her one morning that they missed celebrating Thanksgiving. The girl grew up celebrating the feast that comes once a year, where everyone was present. But this year was different, Venice is now in school and Sydney has no reason to go to Canada to celebrate it as it was Venice's parents who does the preparations. Thinking she could at least lift up one person's mood, it should be her niece and so, she started to prepare for it that night and with the help of the gamekeeper, he presented her with an already killed turkey.
Apron on and a cleaver on her right hand, Sydney hesitated for a while before chopping off the turkey's head. Blood splatter on her apron. Apron saves the expensive dress she thought to herself as she continued to work on the turkey. The main dish was the hardest part of Thanksgiving dinner, it was big and can feed at least ten person but in their case, only two. Left overs can be made into turkey sandwiches. The side dishes was thankfully done by the house elves who were willing to help. Apparently some of them don't trust her, although, she didn't mind; Sydney was still cautious as to not get caught and reveal who she really was. De-feathered, guts out, seasoned and put on a roaster pan. The Professor insert the heavy thing inside an old timely oven. An hour of cooking time will surely be okay, it was usually is.
After an hour and a half of grading papers and setting exam questions. Sydney came back and revealed the perfectly cook turkey, and with a swish of her wand, the roaster pan with the turkey on it levitated. The Professor moved it until she slowly placed the pan on top of the breakfast nook with all the side dishes the other house elves politely set out. In today's muggle world, this dinner table set up would be an Instagram worthy post. She smiled to herself, the humor reminded of her siblings who decided to live their married lives in the muggle world but still practice magic inside their home. Now, all she's missing is her niece, the owl she set to her must have already delivered it but time state it was too early still and so, Sydney took a sit somewhere to wait.
